Decor: Sette Osteria has an open kitchen and an action station viewable by guests. Pizzas are cooked in a wood-burning pizza oven.
The best decor in a restaurant is people. Windows give guests a view of the active passing scenes on busy Connecticut Avenue and R Streets. And, people walking by are able to view a very inviting and appealing restaurant. The decor is soft and appealing but still carries a theme of sophisticated Italian culture and international buzz. Guests can view the young people going in and out of the chic clothing stores G-star and Cove
Bottomless Weekend brunch $15 (2 hour) and daily Happy Hour.
Complimentary garage parking after 7pm.
A bit disorganised. Never got the brunch menu, looked it up on my phone. Servers were friendly though. Food was fine.
The experience was generally fine. I was disappointed with the Benedicts mostly due to the raw and slightly soggy English muffins. Would have liked the meal better with a little toast to the muffin.
Sette never disappoints me. Everyone there is eager to serve and assist. The food is consistently great. The sangria is always refreshing and tasty! Thanks to all at Sette for taking good care of me since 2014.
Nice place, excellent service. Nice menu was too hot to sit inside so we opted for outdoor seating which isn’t my preference, but they didn’t seem to have the air conditioning on inside or perhaps it was broken. A little pricey for what it is but still a nice experience
The patio was nice and shaded with ample space to dine while distanced from other patrons. The staff was very professional and quick to serve but also very kind and personable. The brunch menu had a lot of items that looked great and the options we chose were good. The food was well made and the portion sizes were not too big. Best of all, brunch cocktails were just $5!!
We love Sette it is consistent, friendly, good food and atmosphere!
I'm understanding of COVID-19 but I was disappointed with this restaurant. I asked for simple requests and was told they could not accommodate. This was a Father's Day dinner for my significant other and the experience just was not there. This was our first time eating here and the waiter didn't offer any menu items and a lot of the food was not available. I felt like we were being rushed while trying to order our food. To top things off we had a homeless person walk up to our table and ask for money and our leftovers.
Great restaurant. We could not dine inside so no atmosphere except people walking by and traffic . No Happy Hour menu yet, maybe next week . They have great salads, pastas and pizza. They make a fabulous Aperol Spritz!
Great restaurant! They have a lot of dining space outside which was perfect due to Phase 1 regulations. Service was great, delicious food. Highly recommend the burrata! Thanks Sette Osteria we will be back!
Food was good. Servers wear masks and gloves and tables spaced 6 feet apart.
Great return to dining in DC!
So impressed with the detail and attention to service
Food great as always
Generally very good Italian food. Don't order lasagna, eggplant parmesan, or calzone.
Wonderful pasta and extraordinary service so everybody should try!!!!!
This place met our expectations. Clean and went through all DC Covid guidelines. I have been brunching here for over a year now and I still think it’s the best... Quality and financially-wise.
Our service was phenomenal and the food was excellent. We can’t wait to return to Sette Osteria.
Such a great brunch this weekend!! The prices are awesome and the food was really good. We also had the best waiter. 4/5 because of ambiance. Definitely will be back!!
Wonderful food and wonderful service!!!!
Reservation was not honored as my table was given away
Server couldn’t have cared less about me and my party. Food was very good as usual
For me, customer service is the most important thing anywhere. The food was "okay" but we were having a really good time until we asked the host to take a picture and she was super rude. She accused me and my friends of sharing a bottomless (which was not true and we had already paid the bill and everything) and made us show her our ID when we had finished our brunch. It was extremely rude the way she treated us. Definitely that was our last brunch in that restaurant.
Service and food very good. Hostess was very rude. Someone else should be attending at front door.
The wait staff was not helpful to request to put a soccer game on the TV of the Spanish league even though they had confirmed prior that they were showing the match.
Great food and ambiance. Not pretentious and location.
Good hot tasty food. We enjoyed and plan to return.
Perfect family place. Something for everyone! Both my husbands and my fish entrees were delicious and my three kids loved the pizza!! Loud but perfect for kids! Would recommend!
The valentines menu was awful. However, their food is usually on point.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Perfect place to take your friends to catch up, celebrations, anniversaries and date nights.
Staff was slow when we first sat down. They kept clearing our table without asking first.
Meet up with some friends we hadn't seen in a long time. The staff was friendly, helpful and patient with us. We did more talking than looking at the menu. They helped us decide what we wanted and made our visit very special. Easy to get to on the Red Line. Centainly will be going back soon. Brunch selections were awesome.
Went for Sunday brunch. Service was very good. Our drinks (bottomless) was refilled without asking. Ordered steak (medium) and eggs w/ bacon. Delicious and good serving portions. A little on the pricey side, but worth it.
Overall, our group had a pleasant experience at Sette Osteria. We went during Restaurant Week so it was bound to be crowded. My biggest grievance was that our waiter was not attentive to our table as a group. He would handle each person individually making the bottomless drinks difficult to keep "bottomless". For each refill, each individual person had to get his attention to get a refill. It was a little ridiculous and I think their staff can be trained better to avoid these unnecessary bottle necks in service.
We love Sette Osteria. Have been several times now. The food is always outstanding, they do a great Aperol Spritz and the wine list is full of variety. I like sitting outside in warmer months - this weekend we were inside on a Saturday night at peak time and it was super noisy. Our table was tucked in next to the back end and as well as being a bit squeezed in had a lot of foot traffic carrying dishes in and out. Aside from that loved it and will definitely be back
Service was friendly but not professional. Food was ok but not expertly prepared.
We got there right as they were opening and the restaurant was chilly. I also accidentally went to the wrong location...I think the hostess let the other location know that I had gotten misdirected. The food was good but the ambiance could have been warmer.
Average in every way and a bit over priced. I had a veal dish and the veal was dry, even though it was served with a sauce.
What can I say Sette Osteria never disappoints. Our food was fabulous and so was our service. I ordered the pumpkin ravioli and it was 10/10. SO YUMMY. My boyfriend ordered linguini and a meat sauce he was very pleased. The bread was great too. I can’t recommend Sette Osteria enough.
Quite disappointed by our time there. I made a reservation for a large party on Christmas--talked with them leading up to try to make sure I updated them whenever we had a change in our number, confirmed with them Christmas Eve. My party showed up on Christmas and were told by a very rude host that we didn't have a reservation. We saw our name on their list, pointed to it and said "that's our party" and they said "no, you don't have a reservation." Blatantly lying to our face even though we also had a confirmation number from OpenTable. I understand if you don't turn over tables in time--apologize and say there is going to be a wait. Don't lie to our faces that we didn't make a reservation.
They ended up seating us half an hour late at multiple tables where the hospitality did not get better. Those who ordered steaks were never given steak knives and had to use butter knives. They would leave bottles of wine unopened on our table without opening or pouring them--just dropping them off and leaving. Two of our tables received their apps before another of our tables had even ordered.
I understand it was a holiday but the overall experience was terrible and that's unfortunate because we were away from our families. They didn't even apologize or offer to comp us anything. Which you don't have to comp something, but apologizing and owning up to your own mistake is the bare minimum of what should be done. Will never be going there again.
Really like the vibe in this place and it is in a great location in DuPont Circle just off Connecticut Avenue. Bonus points for being open on Christmas Day. I had no intention of cooking.
xmas day, so perhaps a bit short staffed + not really fair to ding them on service. maybe chef was out too, so not fair to ding them on food? location is nice, ambience nothing special. can't blame that on xmas. salad was good, chicken parm not so much and overpriced. wife liked her fish. we might give it another chance...
Our server was terrific and the food excellent. The tiramisu with blueberry sauce was different but delicious!!
