Birthday celebration for my 10yr old. They made it special for her by giving her a pink drink.
I’m a fan! All Fabio T restaurants are amazing!
We enjoyed our experience very much! Our waitress was very kind and informative, and the food came out within 10 minutes! We ordered the squid ink linguine & the carbonara. Our wine was delicious, the dessert was perfect (get the gelato with peaches), and it was an overall very romantic & homey experience. I studied abroad in Italy in college — Sfoglina made me feel like I was reliving parts of my trip. I will definitely come back for another special date night.
I've never gone wrong with the special of the day at Sfoglina. It's always amazing!
Great food and always treated like family
We had a wobbly table, but that was fixed quickly. The restaurant was easy to find although the room seemed smaller than the Van Ness restaurant. The wait staff was very knowlegeable and friendly. Food was attractively presented and was overall delicious. The bar seemed a bit slow, but the mocktails were great.
Both of us had dishes we liked, gnocchi with a porcini sauce and the carbonara. The gnocchi was some of the best gnocchi we have had. It was a little loud but still enjoyable.
We all enjoyed our meal!
Great food and service. Quick food delivery. Responsive staff.
I was surprised. They did not have restaurant week optiond
Meeting son and daughter in law
It was amazing!
Excellent experience. The meal was fantastic and the service was even better. We also love the location. Definitely going back.
I reported we were celebrating a birthday on the app and they brought over a thing of gelato at the end of the meal with a candle plus a birthday card from the owners. Very nice!
This was an amazing experience. I had friends visiting from France and thought of Sfoglina. Our server, Ana, was awesome and we never needed anything. Elle, the manager, was a gem!
Fresh homemade pasta, the best!
A great place for a reasonably priced Italian dinner. The only complaint about the food was it was a bit salty for my taste, but that is because of the seasonings. The selection is amazing.
Second time I’ve been here and I cannot wait to go back. Incredibly accommodating staff and the best atmosphere once again. Don’t think you could order anything and be upset, but the spaghetti with EVOO was a hit tonight.
The pasta was incredible! We tried the lamb ragu and mushroom gnocchi and both were excellent. Our server was friendly and gave great recommendations. Our one complaint was that the cocktails were not very creative and the quality of liquor used was overall low. We expected more for the price point.
Staff was very attentive and food is great!
Good Italian restaurant. We enjoyed the dinners and desserts. Service was good. Not much ambiance.
Me fascinó este restaurante. La comida deliciosa y el servicio amable y eficiente.
Everything was absolutely amazing! Service, food, wine, atmosphere. We loved it and will definitely be back.
Sfoglina is one of the most reliable italian cuisnes in DC. Their grilled wild calamari is always my go-to appetizer, along with their squid ink linguini.
The food was very good. We ordered the Sunday special which according to the menu included wine, even the web site said the same. In reality we were charged for the meal then $24 for each glass of wine. The waitress said that wine was extra according to the menu we didn't read that but took it up the back-side. In essence we paid twice the amount of money for wine which if we had ordered from the menu would have been half the price.
Chose it from the user photos of pasta, but really didn't know much else besides a peek at the menu. This was a FANTASTIC choice and we couldn't be happier to have dined at Sfoglina. The FOOD IS PHENOMENAL -- everything so fresh and so flavorful. Stop reading reviews and just go eat. Inside and outside dining and both looked great. Service was excellent. Prices were super reasonable. GO!!!
Súper good, as always.
Have been a number of times but this time service was sub-par. Waited quite a bit to first order drinks and then to pay the bill. Also time between appetizers and entrees was rushed.
Our server was the closing server... she kept forgetting our orders or forgetting we were there. She also complained about having to be the closing server.
Service was OK. The menu posted online was not the menu they actually offered. Suboptimal given that I decided to try this restaurant based on that. Gnocchi was super salty and the cocktails they served are like 95% ice cubes.
Will not go back
My friend and I shared two entrees for lunch: Fisherman's Style Octopus and Mancini Paccheri Carbonara Style. Both were excellent. The Octopus was cooked perfectly. The Paccheri was sooo good. the egg on top was a great addition. This is the first time I didn't order the Maria Menu, and I wasn't disappointed, although the Maria is definitely a lighter lunch, if that is what you prefer.
What’s not to love here? The meatball and calamari appetizers were superb. The fresh pasta was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The sauces were balanced and well prepared. And the gelato and peaches (served separately) were a perfect ending. Oh yes, the Manhattan with orange bitters was wonderfully mixed. As for the staff, attentive, unintrusive and even help out with local directions!
This was our first time downtown since the restaurant changed from Cas Luca. We enjoyed being in a separate room as we were a party of 8. This restaurant seems to be louder than the original Sfoglina on Conn Ave. We enjoyed the food better at the Conn Ave location. The appetizers were delicious, we all had pasta for the entree. Some members of our party felt the special being called a ragu, did not the have the sauce that a ragu typically has and felt it more broth-like. The pappardelle was overcooked. The gnocchi was very good. The tortellini was well filled with meat, but a bit dry in taste. Our meal overall was good, but a let down from our earlier experience a the Conn Ave location
Ambiance and Service from Host to Server always excellent. The finishing salt on some dishes was too overwhelming.
Excellent food and service. All the servers seem to work together which is always very good. We really liked that the general manager walked around checking on everyone’s experience. All the waitresses wear flowered dresses which looked great! Very accommodating to our daughter’s gluten free needs.
This was an anniversary dinner for us, and it was excellent. My of our experience with Italian food comes from regional or national chains and consists generally of chicken parm, spaghetti, lasagna, and similar entrees. We opted for what amounts to the "Pick 3" option because we weren't entirely sure what we'd like and we wanted to try new things. We opted for the potato gnocchi, spinach tortellini, and squid ink linguine. They were all really, really good, though I'd have preferred a few more tortellinis. We ended our meal with the tiramisu, which was delicious.
The service was typical of a nice restaurant (that's a good thing, mind you). Many of the tables are separated by only a couple of feet, so you'll probably hear plenty of your neighbors' discussions. The cocktails looked good but were too expensive for my tastes and, thus, I didn't try any. Overall, it was a great meal.
Great food and ambiance. Sat at the bar, Devon was a great help and provided excellent insight and really good service. Will done here again!
We really enjoyed a family celebration on Saturday. We didn’t really like the first table we were seated at ( in the furthest most corner of the restaurant) and when we asked to move they accommodated our request with no hesitation. Recommend a table in the main dining area in front of the bar. The server was friendly but professional and gave good recommendations. The family style option was great for allowing everyone to try different dishes. The desserts were probably some of the best I have had in DC. We were not rushed and spent over 2 hours enjoying our meal.
Great food and amazing service! Beautiful place!
