My wife and I had great service from the time we walked in through our final course and coffee. My partner had a delicious grapefruit mocktail, while I had a wonderfully smokey and bitter mescal negroni. Nonna's Meatballs were worth their weight in gold and the pasta sampler was to die for. The servers were perfectly attentive (neither distant nor smothering), at every stage of the dinner.

I would highly recommend Sfoglina for a date night, business meeting, or friendly get together.

The restaurant makes for the perfect business lunch. The food is great, the space accommodates groups of varying size, and there are lots of vegetarian and meat lovers options.

We love Italian food and have traveled throughout Italy.
The food is not traditional Italian there far too many spicy foods on the menu. The grilled calamari is an example.
The chopped salad arrived wilted and with too much dressing.
The ravioli looked and tasted like it had sat too long before being served.
The other two pasts were not memorable.
The branzino was nicely prepared.
There so many Italian restaurants in DC that are so much better.
The service was very good and the decor is fresh and pleasing.

The Mafalde Telefono pasta is absolutely a must-have! It sounds like a simple dish: tomatoes, red sauce, cheese, and pasta. But it is incredibly well executed and delicious! We also got the roasted tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella to start. HIGHLY recommend the roasted tomatoes. They were divine. We were celebrating our anniversary and they even brought us complimentary prosecco and a card from the restaurant to commemorate the evening. A really classy place that's great for a special event.

Really enjoyed the food, smaller servings that were just perfect instead of the regular huge servings at most Italian restaurants. Nicely styled interior - the decor and design is chic.
Would recommend and will go back !!

We had been looking forward to a date night at Sfoglina for quite a while. The food and drinks did not disappoint. What was disappointing was our service. Bus boys were on top of it, but our waitress (although extremely professional) seemed overwhelmed and could not provide the attention necessary to give a pleasant dining experience. The manager was dismissive about our concerns. The decor was very trendy and the ambiance was very good.

This place is just as much fun as the Van Ness location. Menu and food are inspired, atmosphere with its many different seating areas is totally accommodating, and the service is simply wonderful.

The food was decent, but we didn't think it was a good value. Ambience was very nice, and wait staff and servers were very proficient and attentive. We occasionally got a whiff of unpleasant fishy smell which was off-putting

The food itself was fantastic - however our entire party left hungry. Given the $19 price point for a pasta dish, that was pretty upsetting.

Furthermore, we had a weird encounter with one of the staff (not our waiter who was excellent.) They use different colored glasses for sparkling water, so that the servers know which to refill with what. Good idea - however one of our party came late and when he sat down he began to pour a glass. A bus girl rushed up and grabbed the glass from his hand kind of forcefully, causing a bit of a spill, and then came back with another glass. My issue here is fourfold: 1. It caused a spill which she didn’t apologize for, 2. You should never forcefully grab something from the customer, 3. She didn’t explain or ask first, and 4. we paid for the sparkling water that she took away a glass of and spilled more of!

Overall, while the food was good I can’t say I will be back. It’s very tasty but just not a good value.

Two of the four dishes Underwhelming.. The pasta was Embarrassingly bad.

Service was good though thank you for that.

My husband said he would never be back.

Three weeks ago we eat is for Galena on Connecticut Avenue, the posta was loaded with salt.

It seemed like an ice cream parlor had been repurposed as the restaurant. Somewhat limited menu but everything tasted really good.
Wait staff seemed under trained.
I don't think I'll be back.

We went to celebrate a dinner and were not disappointed. We shared the "sampler" of 3 pastas and enjoyed all three. The best was a special - beef and pork in something like a ravioli, but it was bigger/fuller. It was delicious. Two pastas had cream sauces, but they didn't feel overly heavy.

It's a little crowded if you're seated in the middle areas - lots of 2 person tables and you kind of have to squeeze in past the table beside you. And since they're that close, it means you can hear a lot of other conversations. But it's still worth it.

One note: they ask if you want bottled or sparkling water, which is an extra charge. But you can regular water for no charge if you clarify that's what you want.

Our server was professional and efficient. Unfortunately, the pasta dishes were so disappointing. The pasta should be cooked al dente at a restaurant that specializes in pasta. All of our pasta was overcooked. The kids spaghetti was so mushy. The grilled squid was very nice, the meatballs were moist and flavorful and the burrata was creamy, but the poorly executed pasta dishes made this a very forgettable experience.

We loved it here! The tasting plate trio was perfect for two people - you get a really good portion of each pasta and there are quite a few options to choose from, including vegetarian options which was really nice. The Telefona pasta is cooked nicely and the roasted tomatoes are excellent. Our carbonara was good as well, not overpowering and quite cute with the sunny side up egg on top. Overall would definitely come again, and we plan on it soon!

First time visiting this location. I actually work very close to the space. Took a coworker out for a birthday lunch. Very nice place, somewhat homey but modern. We arrived early, but the restaurant filled up quickly. We had many of the choices on the menu including the fish, Brussels sprouts, and Farro salad. All very good choices. The wait staff was extremely attentive, and they brought us out a spice cake with a candle in it to celebrate the birthday. It was a little dry, but What I expected from a traditional Italian restaurant. Not at all disappointed, a little expensive for lunch. Everybody seemed pleased. A good experience, and I would go back.

Overpriced pasta joint. Went there for lunch on President's Day. Hostess walked us past empty barstools and high top tables only to seat us shoulder to shoulder with other diners at 2x2 tables in the back. Only 20-30 patrons in the place with one waiter working who never offered to refill my iced tea. Lunch was from the tabletop specials menu. The bill for two without tip and no alcohol was $63.00. To add insult to injury, Sfoglina doesn't validate parking in the basement parking area of their building. One hour and twenty minutes parking was $16.00 on a Federal holiday. This lunch excursion was $90.00, all inclusive. Not to be repeated.

Service excellent, ambiance fine. Well above market rate for food (lunch for 2 without wine was over $120 with tip). My meatballs were cold, while pasta and sauce were very good temperatures. Expect way higher kitchen quality given pricing. Pasta itself was very good, salads were tasty and good portions. Not happy with the temperature of my food and very unhappy with the pricing.
