Delicious food. Just a little pricey for what you get!
Pricing doesn’t really match up with sizing of dishes. Some dishes are more expensive but quite small, others are cheaper but larger. Waitress recommended 2 of the smaller plates per person, but if you’re hungry would definitely recommend 3.
Just a brilliant evening. The food was interesting and so tasty. Our waiter was friendly and helpful.
It was quite commercial
We dined here as a small group. It got really loud to the point where we couldn’t really hear each other even though we were a group of three.
We ordered a variety of food but the iberico pork katsu was disappointing. Over cooked and over salted by a lot, so much so we had to order a side of rice to accompany the dish and by the time that arrived we didn’t really want anymore of the food.
Nice to try but wouldn’t be back in a hurry.
Amazing food, very friendly staff, served quickly. Would recommend!
One of the best restaurants I've been to in London - great food, unique, fantastic service, great ambience.
Definitely recommend and will definitely be going again!
The Korean fried chicken and kinako french toast are must haves here!! Amazing as always
Very loud and stressed staff. Food is good though.
It was lovely but we did feel a bit rushed! That was a problem as our starts came before our drink and mains before we finished starters etc
Highly recommended. Unexpected quaint atmosphere with great service and wonderful dishes!
We love it here, the food is great. The only issue is deciding what to order!
The food was delicious but the service was very patchy and the restaurant was almost deafeningly loud.
The food came out in drinks and drabs, very much at the kitchens convenance rather than that of the paying customer.
I would suggest giving it a very wide swerve on a Friday night (when we went) and trying at a time when the waiting staff are less pressured.
A very mixed experience.
Great Sunday Brunch. Service was spot on (glasses constantly filled) and our server Omar was knowledgable on dishes and very attentive without being overbearing.
The food was good. Unfortunately our waitress suggested too much food for the two of us and we had all these delicious leftovers we couldn’t take because they don’t provide takeaway boxes. It was upsetting to have to waste so much food. We would have loved to either take it home and/or give to someone outside in the street. When asked why they don’t provide takeaway boxes, they said “their landlord didn’t allow it”. Obviously that doesn’t make any sense.
We did the tasting menu and the food was marvellous and just as good as we remembered from our last visit!!
The food here is really good but unfortunately the service let it down.
We went on a fairly busy Saturday night and did have a larger group but the food service was very sporadic. We ordered several plates to share and one of the dishes came after we had asked for the bill and the table had been cleared despite us chasing for the dish several times which was very poor. Catching the eye of the waiting staff took time and even getting a glass of wine for one of the guests too.
I couldn't complain about the food though as this was really nice and there was a lot of variety in the dishes being offered.
What a great find!!! We had a fantastic meal with superb service.
Yummy food, a bit salty, but they are cheap as tasting menu
This restaurant would be fantastic if it weren't so loud that you can't have a conversation with the people at your table. The food is delicious (barring a couple of bland entrees) and the service is good, but it is so loud that you have to yell to hear each other and the server speak. I've given this place a try three times on different nights, hoping it was just a fluke, but it's always insanely loud. Saw three tables complain about the noise levels while we were eating there. Will not be returning!
Really brilliant afternoon staff were so accommodating the food was really delicious great service.
Unfortunately the service was terrible, extremely slow. I sat there with no food for 30 minutes while my friends had received theirs, and all their food came staggered. We received our portions of rice without the meat and it was left on our table and was cold by the time the meat arrived 20 minutes later.
When the food did arrive, it was delicious and we enjoyed it, but sadly very difficult to enjoy the food when the entire experience was so suboptimal.
We also wanted to try the tasting menu but the option was only available to the whole table and one of our friends was vegetarian so they would not accommodate for vegetarian options and therefore none of us were allowed to have the tasting menu. It’s shocking to think in this day and age where there are so many dietary variations, Shack Fuyu does not accommodate for vegetarian tasting menu. We were all forced to chose from a la cartel where there are vegetarian options.
The service was PAINFULLY bad. The food is really delicious and the wine is uncommonly well priced for central, but Jesus the service! A 1.5hr slot is allocated for each seating: we had to flag someone down to order, then got our first dish 40mins later. We had only 15mins left of our slot when the last (of 5 small plates) arrived. We were offered dessert, then told we had to move to the bar to eat it where we waited another 25 minutes until it arrived. Such a shame because thw food is amazing and this could have been really special, but it ended up being quite disappointing. Either allow 2-hr slots like everywhere else or actually check if your customers would like some food now and again!
The food and service were fantastic. Problem was we ordered the taster menu for two and it was enough to feed four. Then they said 'they didn't do takeaway' meaning doggy bags when we said we didn't want to waste the gorgeous food. Meant we felt uncomfortably full and wasteful. Aubergines and bao to die for!
Everything we ordered was so tasty. The best chicken wings I've ever had! The service was excellent - really friendly and attentive staff . Would definitely recommend.
Very friendly staff, excellent food, great cocktails, highly recommended
Great food and service ..... tasty!
Such a shame. Was really looking forward to this meal, but after waiting 40 minutes to be served a drink (only to be told twice that both drinks id ordered sold out), while wedged in to a tiny table where we could barely hear ourselves think, we waited over an hour for food, which came out cold. Had to cancel our main meal, but the manager was very understanding and refunded our drinks as an apology.
Awful!!! The most terrible Japanese food I have ever had. Bordering on disgusting! Staff were friendly but clueless. For example my friend asked what izakaya meant in the menu and the answer was “some Japanese stuff”. Icing on the cake was when one of the staff said to google it.
Delicious! Especially the aubergine. But found the e press menu, although fast, was expensive for what was included
The food and were staff were brilliant. The staff are very attentive and never leave you with an empty glass. One thing I will say is that its very loud and the food took a while to come out initially but overall amazing - 100% recommend
Went there for the Sunday Brunch and I must say that it was very good. They did not rush us (we stayed for about 4h), our glasses were filled promptly. Our waiter was lovely and the Manager too.
Great food, the chicken wings, salmon tacos and pork buns, were especially amazing. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. Best Sunday brunch I've ever had. Would have better value if we could eat and drink more, but still very responsible.
Good pre-theatre menu - not the largest portions but tasty and better value than Flesh & Buns. Good service.
Good stuff innit.
Food was incredible as always! The atmosphere was buzzing for a Wednesday night which added to the experience.
Good quality Japanese food with a bit of fusion too. It's a noisy restaurant on a Sunday but the food is good, quite well priced and with attentive service.
Overall i have to say we had a fantastic time here. The food was absolutely fantastic, some really good Japanese food and some clever twists which you rarely see, such as the Prawn Toast/Okonomiyaki.
At first we were somewhat concerned. Our table was at 4.15, at 4.35 we had yet to receive anything including our welcome drink. However it arrived shortly afterwards and then things started rolling.
The food was simply amazing. Can't fault it.
Once going the service was really good and they continually topped up the Prosecco. They actually continued serving us until almost 7. So whilst they started a little slow, we actually got more than our allotted time.
They big drawn back is the noise level when we were there. It was all dependent on the other tables. At times we really had to shout to have a conversation due to others, but when 1 or 2 noisy tables left, it went to a moderate level and we could talk normally.
I would come again and would recommend.
Another amazing time at Shackfuyu. Food was amazing, the service was outstanding and all my guests were very impressed. If I can add a constructive feedback, would have liked the prosecco to be colder, but I appreciate that with the warm weather it was hard to keep it cool. Thanks very much
