Served us other people food a couple of time. Waiter was rude. Lost part of our order then accused us of eating it and saying we didnt.!?! The waiter was rude and impatient it was like he was doing us a favour to be serving us! A good waiter is barely noticeable this one was making a scene every time he came to our table. I asked what one of the dishes was like he said "normal size beef in a sauce" not very helpful! I have said this before but this chain of restaurants has great food and terrible staff and management!
brilliant experience all round, highly recommend, great food and atmosphere
Staff are so obviously told to push food and drinks. I literally put my beer down and was asked instantly if I wanted another. And I've never heard such a sales pitch for dessert!
Food is expensive and very average. 6 wings are £6, however 4 small slices of aubergine were £7.50!?
Gluten free options were very limited, so don't go if you are allergic!
The only thing anyone enjoyed was the wings. May as well go Wagammama for everything else
So so so good. Every time.
It is absolutely delicious and such nice, caring service.
The food was as good as previous visits but the stress put on us to eat and be gone was outrageous. We had booked weeks in advance and as soon as we arrived were told we were allowed no more than 1.5 hours maximum at the table (it was only 7.30). They then proceeded to bring the courses to us as quickly as they could and you had literally just put your culturally down and they pounced and took the plates away looking to get us the next course so they could move us on.
It is not cheap and to be treated like a fast food restaurant chain customer was very disappointing.
Poor service. Noisy. Disappointed with food. Won’t go there again
We were a party of 5 and ordered a wide selection from the menu. Notable mentions were the the Iberico Pork Cheek Skewers, Korean Fried Chicken, Beef Hot Stone Rice and the Iberico Pork Pluma. All dishes we ordered were equisite though! The French toast with matcha soft serve was a great hit at the table too. Even though the restaurant was very busy our waitress was so friendly and helpful!
Great food and service will be back
I was very disappointed on this visit. I have eaten here a number of times and like it; I took some friends. The service was really dreadful. The order was mis-taken; the food arrived out of sequence; everything was impossibly slow; we were not allowed to sit at a larger table because there were only 3 of us - and then they proceeded to fill those tables with parties of 3; no one seemed to know what they were doing. I insisted on the service charge being removed and the manager (who had to authorise this) showed not the slightest interest in the fact that I was so dissatisfied. I will seriously have to consider coming here in the future, which is a pity as the food is nice.
The food was good, interesting menu, but the waitress was pretty pushy and not that helpful. Also, one of our dishes simply didn’t arrive.
Food was good except for the duck bao which was terrible
Good food but really poor service. Staff were rude and grumpy when we asked for assistance. Toilets were also filfth
The aubergine and prawn toast are legendary, but everything is good! So much umami.
You have to try the Chilli Edamame! Really delicious food - loved the crispy chilli squid too.
Food was bery good, but the service lacked. We had to wait 20 mins for a table, even though we had a reservation. The waiter refused to provide any recommendations with regards to the menu when asked, and was sloppy in general. The atmosphere was nice.
We were not impressed with the service at all. Waiting staff we’re really unengaging. Cocktails were not great as they were very inconsistent from one to the next. Food was fairly average too. Very disappointing and won’t be returning.
The restaurant’s food and staff are always lovely, I just wish it was not as noisy and tables for two had more space.
4 miso aubergine was the unexpected gem out of all the small plates my friend and I ordered - caramelised to perfection, it was almost like dessert. The kinako french toast is in a league of its own!
Great food and service and amazing dessert
Great food and atmosphere. Every single dish was really good and the waiters did a great job. Strong recommendation for the Duck Bao Bun that was outstanding. Only negative was the sushi, definitely not the house speciality!
Really tasty food and quick service. Would definitely come back!
Friendly, helpful and attentive staff and incredible food - best chicken wings and spicy aubergine I've had in a very long time!
The sevice is too poor. The waiters have no smile on their face at all！！Response is bad too.
Service was slow, waiting staff were confused about what dishes we had recurved and needed a lot of direction
Truly excellent food. Miso aubergine, salmon teriyaki, prawn toast, tatomaki, broccoli - all fabulous. Yuzu margarita also a highlight.
Great vibe and friendly staff! We had a great time trying a variety of dishes. Would definitely recommend the Korean fried chicken and the Kinako French Bread for dessert.
We've eaten many times at both here and the Covent Garden Bone Daddies.
The food was as good as ever, however the service was appalling - we had bottomless drinks and yet repeatedly had to ask for refills to our glasses. Twice the bottle was so empty that we didn't all get our glasses topped up, twice they said 'we'll be right back' and never came back.
At one point I knocked my glass over and they threw some normal napkins on the floor, picked them up and put a trip hazard sign over it, they neither cleaned the floor or the table.
Also - we had the chance to re-order small plates, apart from the moment we'd eaten they took everything away and brought dessert.
The final insult was when we left one of the party realised they'd lost a bank card, we called back and they said they couldn't check because the table was occupied, I asked if I could come back and check and they said sure. Ten minutes later I walked in - the barman at the front directed me to the back where we'd sat and said if you know where it was - please feel free to go and ask them.
I walked back and asked the table, they couldn't have been nicer, I was polite and so I were they, as we're looking I was grabbed by the blonde 'meeter and greeter' from the front of the restaurant 'what are you doing? You can't do that? You can't disturb the table, we've already looked'. I replied that then she should talk to the barman who directed me to do just that, and kept looking.
I have never been treated so rudely in a restaurant, but it explains a lot - her attitude is that the table should not be disturbed, and apparently this extends to topping up drinks and serving them food, since we were unable to get her attention for the whole visit.
We've always enjoyed this chain of restaurants, the food is great and the brunch deal really good on a Sunday, but the level of service badly lets it down - and you can get much, much better service for the same money nearby
We had the bottomless brunch deal and it was spectacular! The food was delicious and high quality and the overall service was great value.
I didn't appreciate being kicked out straight after two hours (the time limit for the brunch) as we still had to finish our drinks. I understand that the next booking was there however the restaurant was not yet full and they could have offered to let us finish our drinks at the bar instead of rushing us out. The ending would have otherwise given this restaurant a 5 star review.
Disappointed by the service and the poor attitude of a number of waiting staff
We ata at Shackfuyu in between the two parts of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Excellent, tasty food at a good price. I’d especially recommend the hot pots, in particular the veg hot pot as a side dish.
This was a bit of a reunion with my sister, whom I don’t see often. We loved the food but the acoustics are always challenging and I had to be asked to move table because large groups on the bench tables and another at the back just proved too much noise to be able to talk.
Good for value Sunday brunch. Overall food quality was good, some slightly too spicy for my taste. There was a free flow of drinks and small dishes and a choice for one main per person. The waiter mistakenly brought four french toasts instead of two, we were quite full and just thought we would just share, which was good coz they were just amazing 😋 . Would recommend if you have a crave for casual Japanese/Korean dining.
Awesome food and atmosphere. Went there before a show and had great service.
Great food, but moody, unfriendly waiter dampened the evening a bit.
Really fun restaurant, spectacular tasting menu. Everything on the tasting menu was amazing, and it was incredible value. Great for a big group- service was really not good (waiter kept disappearing?? left the restaurant at one point in time?) but other than that the food was awesome and I would go back!
They didn’t serve everything from what we ordered as part of the bottomless Sunday brunch. We are not drinking alcohol and are surprised by the limited alternatives - only tea and soft drinks. Would better to have juices etc.
The food is great and the portion is decent for you to try a bit of everything. Hope the service and ambience can improve. Overall still a good spot for friends and izakaya experience.
We had the brunch here. The food was delicious. Loved every single dish. Our pre-brunch cocktails were just so-so (very salty Bloody Mary). Funny though that Shak-fuyu promotes minimising waste yet we weren't able to take our ample leftovers home!
very good food, maybe abit pricey. order the iberico pork! good atmosphere. friendly staf
Meal before the theatre. Food was amazing, waiter seemed rather deflated but the rest of the staff made up for him. We had the pre-theatre meal which is such great value for money. Will return and try other items on the menu.
