Shogun Sushi and Noodle Bar
There is a conveyor sushi bar offering you the best sushi in town. The noodle bar will tempt you with a wide variety of delicious noodles and the teppan-yaki tables will cater to the connoisseurs where you will see your meal being cooked before your eyes.
It's fair place, until you have a chef in front of you, otherwise not recommended. No bartender, staff do not speak english. Felt a bit pushed out from the place.
Visited for the first time on a voucher deal. Its a set menu, but the different courses were varied and all deliciously filling. Really entertaining to watch the chef's theatrical cooking, although it got a little messy around the Teppenyaki hot-plate. I really enjoyed the visit and it was a great way to experience a selection of the menu and get an introduction to the chefs' impressive skills but the only thing that bothered me was the noise. Lots of banging the metal utensils on the metal grill (two birthdays so the sing-alongs were accompanied by this too). I would still gladly come back... albeit with ear-plugs!
W had best experience outstanding the staffs was amazing and helpful
Fabulous meal as always there. We had the sushi bar, which is all you can eat. We ate loads - it was absolutely lovely. Good drinks also. They’re always so friendly there.
It was nice, food was a little bland and drinks were expensive for what you got but overall a pleasant experience.
It is an experience. The teppanyaki chefs are great and the food is good. The service does not match this however. It takes a long time to get served, drinks orders were wrong twice, and service charge is included, which is not on if service is poor.
It was a great experience to celebrate a birthday
Amazing … it was so nice I have booked it again for my children and their partners to enjoy .. the food is exquisite 👌
Fantastic! Partners birthday present night out ! Food /entertainment / staff made for a brilliant pre theatre time !
We went as a family of 4 (2young children). Chef was so entertaining and engaging with the children which made their night.
Very busy, kept waiting, kept having to ask for items, drinks, Table, Service.
Very little showmanship, Chef kept disappearing to collect food that we had ordered and he had forgot.
Moved off Teppanyaki Table and put on a table in reception to finish our meal, finish our Drinks, have our Desert, Coffee’s and some Liquors.
Bill was overcharged and overall expensive for what we received
Had a good time and fab foods too
Buffet menu was less on selection than first thought. Need to put buffet menu on website. Food was tasty just not enough selection and need to be clearer on website it’s a reduced menu
The food was a long wait and to be fair it was very average.
In our party of four was a vegetarian and a diabetic child, the staff always made sure we were ok with our food choice & the chef was entertaining all in all a very comfortable enjoyable evening.
Nice friendly atmosphere with excellent food - great value for money
Horrible customer service. I would never go again. The short Asian woman called me and my friends stupid
It was really Great family night out time at this Restaurant, we all had enough fun with the Chefs
Excellent service, was served by a small waitress who was so lovely and allowed us to move to a more private table. The second waitress we had was great too, very efficient
Is a noisy restaurant which we didnt realise before booking, best to go for the experience of watching the chefs cook rather than if you’re looking for a relaxing evening where you can have a conversation
Overall still very good, food was great. Will be back to try more on the menu
We had a memorable meal here. Chef was amazing and the food delicious. So much food we skipped desert.
Terrible service given and very small portions
Great food - lovely seafood. Excellent teppanyaki chef
The food was good, but it felt like because we were using a voucher we did not get the same service as other customers. And the value for the vegan meal was not to the value of non meals.
Then they forgot to bring our desert because they had not come by us for an hour after giving us our mains.
We loved our buffet sushi! Quality of the food and taste was fantastic!
Unfortunately our waiter spilled oil on my top otherwise I would have said 5star on service but this does not reflect the attention they gave.
Great value for money and we will most definitely be visiting again! 🙂
The restaurant was ok. My first 2 visits was more enjoyable. But I think it's the pandemic.but I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.the prices has gone up aswel .but no surprise there.
Best night, best food and services
Another excellent meal, prepared on the spot by skilled chefs, a little bit of theatre and banter makes the meal more of an experience
Very quiet but being a January that might explain it. Beef tough. Chef no inter-action. Service charge automatically added without being pointed out. £84 for two mains and three drinks is quite steep.
I had high expectations on booking this place but unfortunately our group were left extremely underwhelmed. There was no tuna available at all, the waitress did not really seem to know the menu and had to clarify simple questions with the kitchen. The staff were not very attentative and we had to call them over repeatedly. We had to remind the waitress several times regards drinks and dishes we had ordered but had not received yet. Although you could say we did end up with plenty of time for conversation between dishes.
The sushi was mediocre at best. Not freshly prepared. I did like the soft shell crab teppanyaki which gained the 1 star for this review.
Unfortunately, I won’t be coming here again.
We had a fantastic cook, kept us all laughing and fantastic Japanese machine gun! 2nd time visiting we find the atmosphere great!
The one down side is so much food goes to waste. Maybe portions could be a little smaller on the set menus. We had vegetarian and sea food and to be honest we could have shared just one set menu.
On the whole we love it at sho gun it’s a great experience in a great location.
Our Chef was not as entertaining as the others and the service was poor. The booking name was asked by two different people 6 times. One starter mentioned to two different people was forgotten completely. The food has been better on my past visits. Not sure if I will be back for a while.
The only place to eat when I’m Birmingham. Good value for money. Very friendly staff. Cooking tables a must.
Superb food and Service, would revisit as have done in the past already.
It was very nice experience.
It was entertaining. Family and friends friendly
