Shuang Shuang Ratings and Reviews
Nice but there is only one vegetarian stock for the broth available and it has no flavour. Very disappointing. It would be nice for this to change, as I came here a few years ago when I ate meat and I absolutely loved it and the Tom Yum broth was full of flavour. I’d like the same for the veggie broth. Thanks
I've visited Shuang Shuang before, and I keep going back! The individual hotpots are great, and the range of ingredients available is really fantastic. Love their great value 'market set' which is noodles, and three green plates for £10.5 (green dishes include pork belly, marinated beef rump, chicken, marinated pork, almost all the vegetables and tofu dishes!)
The setup is easy to understand and use - and the staff are super-friendly and happy to help with any questions.
I had a great deal because I found a voucher on Timeout to try Shuang Shuang. I think if it's at normal price, it's can be expensive because each of the dishes are very small. Regardless, it was a fun experience, and the staff were amazing! My friend and I chatted happily away past our 2 hour time slot and they didn't ask us to leave. Amazing!
Second visit to Shuang Shuang and it was good again. Food is good, fun and interesting to cook it yourself, great for a cold day and good selection of vegetarian food as well as meat (would be good to have more than 1 vegetarian soup as the veggie one is quite creamy). It was my friend's visit and she really liked it.
Staff were not very friendly and it was expensive for what it was. Also including a service charge when there is basically no service is outrageous. Food was fine but had to add a lot of soy sauce to give it any flavour and paying over £2 for a small plate of vegetables was a rip off! It was cool for the novelty but would not go back
Interesting take on Shabu Shabu let down by speed of service (it was a busy day and only two waiters who struggled to keep up) and layout which means it's fine if you're a couple but any more than two it's hard to have a conversation. Food offer is not bad and you're reliant on spotting things on the conveyor belt and there are lots of options it's just about noticing them. Stocks are nice, the spicy one certainly lives up to its name and is quite fiery.
Lifeless place with sullen staff reinforcing that this is a food factory - from fridge to conveyor belt to mouth via a bland broth. They have a gall to add 12.5% service charge - for what? Massive disappointment and would not recommend. I’ve done hot pots in HK and this was an embarrassment compared to that.
