Not as good as it used to be. The belt was half empty. Had to ask for ingredients. Staff were not accommodating and got upset when we asked for chopsticks or noodles. Yes I would still recommend to visit just because for the concept , but I would cross your fingers to get a better service.
Fly in the food!!! Poor service. The waiter was not around to give us information and provide us with what we needed, eg napkins and extra spoon sets. The waiter also poored a bit of broth on my head. When we did not leave a tip, because we were very dissapointed, he showed he was annoyed, despite the fact that the tip is discretional. So he went in the kitchen and started discussing this with his colleagues, who started looking at us. This was uncomfortable. The professional thing to do would be to come to us and ask us what was wrong. The other staff seemed nice and accommodating. The food was not bad overall, but nothing special compared to the price. Plus we found a fly in the noodles, which I gave back. Too expensive for what it is.
Great fun with conveyor belt style dining. Lovely broths and great selection of dishes to add.
Definitely a fun new experience and out of the ordinary for what we have seen before. Food was ok, soup tasty but not convinced by the freshness of the items on offer on the conveyer. Service was not good, no one explained anything around cooking times or choices so could have ended very badly if undercooked an item. Staff then stood around chatting in the kitchen and looked shocked when you tried to get their attention or ask a question about the food. Bill was very expensive for what we had. Felt bad value for money for some veg soup and noodles. All in all, I would not return.
Arrived early was told to wait fair enough. My other half was late due to the snow affecting travel. When he arrived about 20mins later we were ignored as we stood there waiting to be seated. Walked out went to little johns hot pot down the road.
Super fun and delicious ! The black bird broth is incredible, will be back again soon to try them all
AMAZING as always <3 super fan . Staff were amazing too, was 30 minutes late and they still accommodated me
Went her for my wife's birthday. Her and the kids loved it.
Nice but there is only one vegetarian stock for the broth available and it has no flavour. Very disappointing. It would be nice for this to change, as I came here a few years ago when I ate meat and I absolutely loved it and the Tom Yum broth was full of flavour. I’d like the same for the veggie broth. Thanks
Staff were not very friendly and it was expensive for what it was. Also including a service charge when there is basically no service is outrageous. Food was fine but had to add a lot of soy sauce to give it any flavour and paying over £2 for a small plate of vegetables was a rip off! It was cool for the novelty but would not go back
Fun Place to eat! Kids really enjoyed Cooking their own food. Everything was very good.
Lifeless place with sullen staff reinforcing that this is a food factory - from fridge to conveyor belt to mouth via a bland broth. They have a gall to add 12.5% service charge - for what? Massive disappointment and would not recommend. I’ve done hot pots in HK and this was an embarrassment compared to that.
Really funny and good meal. I thought it was gonna cost a lot but at the end we spent around 15$ each.
Great fun meal with the family. Lots of different foods to choose from and all so fresh. Such a healthy and noval way to eat. Can't wait to go back
It's very nice for those times when you want a little something to do while you eat. You can pick from the ingredients and drop them in your broth. Fun for whole family!
Food was great, it was nice to have the option of eating different small plates cooked in a broth. Staff were very professional and helpful
I've visited Shuang Shuang before, and I keep going back! The individual hotpots are great, and the range of ingredients available is really fantastic. Love their great value 'market set' which is noodles, and three green plates for £10.5 (green dishes include pork belly, marinated beef rump, chicken, marinated pork, almost all the vegetables and tofu dishes!)
The setup is easy to understand and use - and the staff are super-friendly and happy to help with any questions.
Nice and easy fun date, wasnt over complicated
Good food and reasonable price , highly recommended
It was a good experience
The restaurant didn't have my booking even after I showed them my confirmation and the booking on my app. They didn't have my name anywhere to be found. Luckily I went at non-peak time so got a seat, but still, that's rather unimpressive for OpenTable
Great place to share food together and its a fun night out, the only negative in my opinion is due to the conveyor belt and being able to take plates off at your leisure it is very easy to rack up a whopping bill without realising it!
Love the idea of picking and cooking your own hot pot. Lots of choice of ingredients. Not the cheapest way to eat this type of dish but good for a one off bit of fun.
Fun dining! Little bit more expensive than expected - it's easy to pile up the plates! But good for students...15% off :)
I had a great deal because I found a voucher on Timeout to try Shuang Shuang. I think if it's at normal price, it's can be expensive because each of the dishes are very small. Regardless, it was a fun experience, and the staff were amazing! My friend and I chatted happily away past our 2 hour time slot and they didn't ask us to leave. Amazing!
Quirky western take on a Chinese staple. It's a good gateway before travelling to try the real thing abroad and learning food culture. Give it a go!
It was an amazing dinner date with my boyfriend, I felt like a kid at the playground, picking food and cooking myself, because I'm gluten and dairy intolerance I roughy it will be difficult but I've got great service and my dinner date was 100%
Second visit to Shuang Shuang and it was good again. Food is good, fun and interesting to cook it yourself, great for a cold day and good selection of vegetarian food as well as meat (would be good to have more than 1 vegetarian soup as the veggie one is quite creamy). It was my friend's visit and she really liked it.
Fantastic good food and lovely staff who truly make you feel special
Interesting take on Shabu Shabu let down by speed of service (it was a busy day and only two waiters who struggled to keep up) and layout which means it's fine if you're a couple but any more than two it's hard to have a conversation. Food offer is not bad and you're reliant on spotting things on the conveyor belt and there are lots of options it's just about noticing them. Stocks are nice, the spicy one certainly lives up to its name and is quite fiery.
Good but prices could be lower. More options of seafood needed.
Nice broth for hotpot. Food choice a little bit limited. A little bit pricey. But great atmosphere for a friends' gathering.
