Silver - Cathedral Commons
Friday - Saturday 7:00am - 1:00am
I was there on a Friday night late. They had their late night menu out but I had looked at dinner menu online and had my mind set on chicken pot pie, which is not on late night menu. They were nice enough to cook one for me. It was good and they used big chunks of white chicken, I did add salt and pepper as I thought it was a little bland. Nice texture and variety of vegetables . Thought 19.00 was expensive for pot pie though.
Food is very tasty and the wait staff is always friendly and helpful
Creative menu items, friendly staff, quality locally sourced food
We had an event to go to and only 45min to make it on time. I told the waiter and he was very helpful and accommodating for us to eat, drink, pay and get out on time. The food was pretty good but I would probably order something else next time we go. I do plan to go back again. Thanks Again:-)
Silver is a nice place for a quick meal. Think of it as an elevated Silver Diner. Good food at reasonable prices. Great service.
Great place for brunch if you are old school -- looking for great bacon & eggs. Pleasant staff , good service, menu with something for everyone, and great price.
Great place for any occasion.
We're regulars, and brunch this week was yummy. He loves the farmhouse breakfast, I love the avocado toast with salmon, we both love the fresh squeezed orange juice. Cheerful, efficient service makes the whole experience fun and comfortable.
Have made multiple trips to Silver for lunch, both inside and out, and it has never disappointed. Interesting cuisine, friendly service and a low noise level contribute to a fun lunch.
Everything was excellent
The food is good but the service was terrible. We waited longer for our drinks than I can remember ever waiting and that happened twice. And the second time was when the restaurant was not as crowded as it had been, so there really was no excuse. They comped the drink but it no longer in time to drink with most of the meal. Also they sat us at a high top. We were afraid to say no because we were afraid we would not be seated. They seem to overbook the restaurant given that there is vey little room anywhere for folks to wait for their table.
We had a 730 reservation on Sunday night after the Veterans Day concert at the Cathedral> we ariveed a bit early and were seated right away! One member of the group was disabled and used a scooter. no problem! Staff were polite and efficient. All of the meals were done as ordered and arrived in a timely manner. Will visit again when we return in the spring
Three friends getting together for Saturday brunch
Too crowded. Waitstaff and patrons constantly bumping into each other.
Good food and service. Dependable as always.
This is a great place for tasty meals and good company.
What a warm and welcoming restaurant- it’s become one of our favorites. It manages to be both sophisticated and unpretentious at the same time. Food is always delicious- never disappoints.
All five of us enjoyed the meal very much and thought the service was excellent. We'll be back!
Went to Silver last night for a friend's birthday, and we all loved it. I got the cauliflower steak. It comes with (getting this from the menu) "red curry kale, garbanzos, roasted butternut squash, quinoa, fire roasted pepper sauce, peanuts." Wow, it was excellent. I'm not usually a very fancy/sophisticated eater, and I wasn't sure I would even like this entree, but there was no ingredient I would add, subtract, or change the proportion of. It was perfect. For dessert, I got the lemon tartlet, which is described as "vegan lemon creme, blackberries, thyme" in a crust that was maybe made with powdered sugar, and everything about it was excellent -- excellent crust baked/browned just the right amount, fantastic lemon cream filling, and even the blackberries were really good blackberries -- tangy with a lot of flavor. I'm not quite gourmet enough to appreciate the thyme garnish on top, but I just ate it first, and it's not as if it had flavored the rest of the tartlet or anything. Yum. The service was also flawless--polite, timely with everything, refilling water without being asked, letting us sit and talk for 3 hours. Thank you Silver!
great wait staff, very attentive. 1 year Anniversary celebration was fun. all night happy hour drinks. Food was great.
desserts selection was limited, out of two of them.
After a slow service start (it was very busy at 7:30 so completely understandable) we were taken care of by Ronaldo/Raul a lovely man with a name beginning with ‘R’ He was working the bar and also paid close attention to our table. Excellent service, all team members were professional and polite. An all round great experience-delicious food too! Happy 1st Birthday Silver, we’ll be back
Have been to Silver three times now and it's been wonderfully consistent. Something for everyone in my family, from mom/dad to middle school and high school kids. We always seem to run into people we know there too, which is a good thing in our view.
Fresh and delicious ingredients, healthy without being precious or contrived, always friendly service and comfortable seating. This has become one of our favorite restaurants.
SILVER was offering a number of specials in celebration of their first anniversary. They were also hosting a family night elementary school fundraiser. Had we known ahead about the fundraiser we would have chosen a different night as the unusual number of very active and on the move children needed much more space and different acoustics. We also had a problem specific to our wait person. I give management credit for how it was handled.
we both had a terrific salad........love that place
My family and I recently went to Silver after church. It was busy, and we had a reservation, but there didn't seem to be a long wait. The staff was friendly but the service was beyond slow and not great. I feel badly saying it because our waitress was very nice but my gosh. After we ordered, I think we saw her two more times. We had to ask a manager for more water and another drink. We ended up ordering extra pancakes for my son and it took about 25 minutes to get those. We would have said forget about it but we never saw our waitress in that time to cancel the order and to ask for the check. We finally got the pancakes and it took an additional 20 minutes to get our check. Maybe it was just a busy Sunday, but it seemed outrageous - even if the kitchen was running slow, a disappearing waiter doesn't seem like there's a good excuse.
That said, we really enjoyed the food and would want to try again, but can't commit to it if I'm on a time crunch!
We enjoyed a delicious brunch on Sunday. My only complaint is that we were not told of an upcharge for substituting fruit for meat, which just showed up on our check. Why is a small dish of fruit more pricey than bacon or sausage? Not a huge deal, but not good customer service not to be warned. Otherwise, all was great.
My family and I went for Sunday breakfast. This is a very nice cozy restaurant. That has great service and good food.
Silver is a go to option for us. They have healthy choices and the service is really good.
Lovely family meal
Jewish holiday - pre observance dinnet
We went mid afternoon, restaurant was not busy. But nonetheless service was very slow. Took us well over 30 minutes to get our food (soup, salad, sandwiches) And about 10 staff were just standing around, which seemed odd. That said, the food was tasty!
The did not have my reservation. Open table failed me.
The food was delicious, and the service was great!
A very welcome addition to the Woodley Park/Cleveland Park neighborhood. Good spot for weekday working lunch, great brunch spot, and my favorite: Thursday Pups on the Patio. I’ve become sort of a regular!
The waitress was slow in getting our order when taking order she placed a dirty plate from another table and sat it on our table. Fisgusting
The service during this visit did not meet my expectations at all. We sat for about 15 minutes before a server came and took our drink order. He apologized for the long wait and stated that the person tending bar was busy and couldn't make it over to us. Not sure why the bar tender was also responsible for waiting on tables. In addition, it was not busy during our time there so I'm not quite sure why we had to sit for so long. Hopefully the next time we go we won't go through the same experience.
Very good food but service was terribly slow which is tough when dining with a toddler. We chose an early reservation to beat the Sunday brunch crowd but that didn't help.
A neighbor gem! Easy to get a table and the food was great. Is becoming out to-go place
