Very well presented Indian food with subtle touches, excellent flavours and sensible portion sizes. Service is very attentive and friendly. Good atmosphere in the restaurant with unique views over Marlow Wier.
Lunch menu is excellent value, although 2 of the 5 main courses carry a £5+ supplement and the drinks are a bit on the pricey side.
Would recommend giving Sindhu a try.
The food is just amazing. The service is great, and the pace of the meal makes for a really lovely evening meal out.
The food was absolutely delicious and the wine pairings were spot on. This is my second visit and it certainly won't be my last. The service was very good and all of the staff were extremely helpful and efficient.
A fabulous dinner at Sindhu. Amazing flavours, beautifully presented, excellent attentive service. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere even though it was a busy Friday night. Would definitely recommend for a meal with a friend, a romantic meal for two or a larger group.
Great location...beautiful flavours but for me ..not enough heat
On a miserable wet flooded day we enjoyed the riverside dry view ! The whole experience was lovely and we felt very welcomed. It was a really classy lunch. We'll be back !
I always liked Sindhu on all previous occasion but this time I found the food to be pretty ordinary and tasteless against the local indian restaurant. Staff was really nice and looked after us but it's the food that disappointed.
A great way to celebrate a special occasion, or any occasion come to think about it. The food is sublime and good value with the Travelzoo vouchers, and you are well looked after from the moment of arrival to when your coats are delivered as you leave. On this occasion we had two pre teen children with us who were treated as young adults. Will be back soon
We loved it! Absolutely fabulous food and wine and service. We’ll be back
We have been to Benares by Atul Kochar and this time at Sindhu. Great is an understatement. Excellent food, great service and thoroughly enjoyed.
The lobster biriani was slightly overcooked but the accompanying crab bisque was delicious. The lamb rogan josh had a great sauce but the lamb itself could have been more tender and melt in the mouth. Good service and a nice setting.
The food was not up to Atul’s usual standard, we had the Valentines tasting menu & one of the courses was half a mushroom, paying £80 per person you would expect a whole one !
Wonderful menu and food and flexibility in the menu offered. Imaginative, delicious and great service.
Amazing food. Will be back for sure! The halibut was incredible.
This was the finest Indian food I have ever eaten. The staff were all very pleasant and professional.
We will be going back.
Great place.. brilliant service. Food was Better than expected
We had the Valentine's Day Tasting Menu, which was perfect on the day, as usual. The lobster biryani especially was outstanding.
The experience was let down a little by confusion on the website, which advertised 5- and 7-course options, without specifying that the 5-course option we wanted was only offered on bookings before 6pm. We originally booked for 7pm and only found out that it was unavailable when we were asked for a deposit for 7 courses. This led to a lot of email to-ing and fro-ing un til we managed to change it to 6pm.
The website has never been corrected, and is still not showing the restriction 6pm restriction.
The overall experience was badly let down by a couple of the service staff. Our first staff member who took our drinks orders was very dour and came across incredibly rude. To the point where he sighed because I asked him to repeat something. Another of the staff seemed so new she didn’t know the menu and so didn’t know what she was serving us and had to ask and then said ‘what he said’. Very poor. Our starters were served without any plates and we had to request some...For some reason the glasses which came with our drinks orders were simply taken away and we had to ask for them back. Despite me warning we had to leave at a certain time we were still sat 15 minutes beyond that time as we waited to pay.
Service wise this was an incredible let down, and on Valentine’s Day too. The service makes or breaks a restaurant in my opinion and it’s certainly put me off from returning here.
Our review is based on personal preference. Ordered two Biryani's - one veg and one with chicken. Whilst they were could really well with chicken moist and so well done it just lacked spice. The side of raita was tiny too and just expected a bit more. Other than that very filling, great service attentiveness, setting and ambience.
Had the 7 course taster menu for two and it was delicious! Word of warning, come very hungry! The portions are not scanty and every single dish is so delicious that put feels like a sin to leave anything behind. Even the simple side accompaniments like the dal makhni and naan were amazing!
Perfect for a special occasion!
Birthday meal. Tasting menu was excellent
Absolutely stunning food and wine. Have recommended to friends and family already
My fellow diners really enjoyed their meals.
My vegetarian dish was unsatisfactory - tasteless really and strangely in a bun which I would never have chosen if there had been another choice - in contrast the cauliflower starter was excellent
Great food and service, thought service charge a bit extreme.
Lunch with friends. Great place, tasty food. Some wonderful flavors going on here. Great service and nice view of the river. Overall restaurant design and layout makes you feel comfortable and roomy while still remaining cosy.
Will definitely revisit.
Lovely location with views over the river. Very nice ambience. Friendly and professional staff and excellent food.
We are regular diners at this restaurant and, without fail, at every visit the food is outstanding and the staff are friendly and efficient .
We enjoyed a lovely visit with friends for a birthday lunch. The staff were friendly and welcoming and happy to answer questions about the menu. They were able to tailor the lunch menu to the needs of a vegetarian guest. We continued our afternoon with coffee in the lounge to complete the experience. Oth a special and relaxed lunch experience.
Unexceptional food to be honest.
Lovely meal in great surroundings. Inspiring dishes!
It was our second visit and good as usual. Food, service, ambiance was all good as expected. The only advice to the restaurant manager will be "Please don't talk about coupons all the time". The restaurant manager kept reminding us about what's included and not in a coupon throughout the food and drinks order. And all of those discussions were quite like an announcement so quite loud and clear. We were more than happy to order normal and never cared about coupon but the people in restuarant seems to care a lot about it. That's not what I expect in a high standard place like The Sindhu. Rest everything good.
Perfect in every way.Wonderful menu and delicious food with excellent service.
Superb food, a real treat and good service.
Only 2 little things that I think could have been better. Firstly the room is large and sound echoes, with a full house, testament to its popularity the noise was overwhelming at times. Maybe some form of noise reduction could help?
Secondly, make sue you ask for tap water... still is £5 a bottle which I just think is too much.
A real treat as always! Indian flavours mixed with Western ingredients that blow your mind!
Wonderful lunch at Sindhu, my family members are very fussy eaters and especially with Indian food they would rather eat at home. Each member of my family loved the balance of flavours, none of the spices were overpowering, the ambience was perfect and we thoroughly recommend the restaurant. It’s a must do !
Excellent venue for a birthday lunch.
Staff very friendly and helpful. In fact chef created a special candle light cake slice for our birthday boy. Made him feel special.
Excellent food and good value. Highly recommended.
Very enjoyable lunch, very relaxed and interesting food
The dall had obviously been sitting in the kitchen for a long time as it was both dry and clogged. The Biryani was underwhelming and lacked appropriate spicing. The deserts were frosted and inedible.
Generally the food was on the tasteless contour. Surprising, as I have always rated Atul to be one of the best, if not the best, Indian Chef in UK. Perhaps, having too many commitments, in his various business engagements, has a cost and the quality suffers. The delegated chefs in the restaurant are not Atul.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Blown away. Beautiful food, wonderful restaurant, lovely staff. Highly recommend it to anyone.
Very nice venue for a delicious good value lunch with friends. Would definitely go again and also recommend this restaurant.
