Sindhu was very good. I went with 2 colleagues who are experienced diners in good restaurants. We were all impressed and will return.
I had booked a special deal via Open Table, but Sindhu had no information about this. Fortunately I had taken the paperwork I had printed, so it worked out OK, but it is not a good way to start a meal with discussions about payment. This is likely to be the fault of Open Table not advising the restaurant.

Mediocre food and service. The purpose of the tasting menu should be to showcase the best that the restaurant has to offer. We were not impressed. I’m a fan of Atul Kochar but his team at the Sindhu have let him down on this occasion.

Our visit saved our Silver Wedding Anniversary from being a disaster. We'd stayed the night before at one of the cottages via The Hand and Flowers and also had an incredibly disappointing meal there which was quite upsetting as we'd been looking forward to it for a long time. We arrived at Sindhu with some trepidation but we needn't have worried. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious - we chatted to a couple of neighboring tables who were all equally enjoying their lunch. Well done everyone - it was lovely meal and experience.

Firstly, the food at each level of service is of exceptional quality and taste, the service and friendliness of the staff is first class and the presentation of food by the chef is mouth watering.

This was a special visit to mark 10 years since me and my husband first met in Marlow. The 7 course tasting menu was just perfect for us and very tasty too. Wine pairing, although quite pricey was a hit with my husband. Cocktails were great too. We had an amazing time!

From the moment we arrived the service was outstanding. Nothing was to much trouble and the service was attentive rather than obtrusive. I have eaten in some top quality restaurants but the food here exceeded them. The flavours were amazing. Top all of this with a fantastic venue and you’ll do well to find better.

The service and wine was good and the cocktails tasty, but needed a small cocktail type embellishment to make them more appealing to the eye.
However, we thought the food was good but very expensive for what the dishes were. Eg the Hyderabad lamb and the chicken masala were fairly standard curries which were similar to many other quality Indian restaurants and didn’t reflect the high standards and special touches that Benares had for example. The lamb biryani was better value and a little bit different to the norm, but the bread basket was poor - very hard to distinguish the stuffed paratha from the peshwari & garlic naans as the texture was very thin and dry and the flavours were very similar.
The pannacotta dessert was disappointing- it came set in a small round dish which looked and tasted like it had been prepared hours before, if not the previous day. Other desserts were coming out where the separate components were served on a plate, as I would expect from a restaurant of this quality. Poor. We also didn’t understand why a small birthday brownie was brought out after coffee for my husband - as if it was an afterthought & had been forgotten - it was a bit awkward as we were just preparing to pay the bill and leave.

The kitchen had a technical hitch which left us waiting an hour before we got any food. We were having the tasting menu which should be seamless given it is an exhibition of the talents of the kitchen but we arrived at 1930 and only got to the main at 2200. Although the staff were apologetic they weren’t attentive and also forgot a round of drinks I would not return.

We arrived at 7 o clock and decided to order the tasting menu. There were 7 of us. The food started to come but was being delivered with long intervals in between each course. We ended up having our dessert at 10.30! It was until we started to complain then realised everyone else was complaining at the service that we were told there was a technical issue in the kitchen. If only they had been open with us in the beginning then we could have chosen something easier. However the food that we had was very good!

This was vastly overpriced mediocrity. The food was poorly presented, the lamb curry consisted of half a dozen pieces of not-very-tender lamb in a sea of gravy. The popadom starter was odd and minuscule. The service was good if lacking in individuality, it felt over-trained. Frankly we’d have done far better going to our local Indian restaurant. The price was extortionate. Sorry but really not satisfactory

Service was good, and the food much improved compared to the last time we were there. The prawn curry was very good. Although I hazard to guess the complimentary starter of popadoms and prawn crackers were not as fresh as they should be. And should they be serving prawn crackers in an Indian restaurant ??

The food was delicious and cocktails reasonably priced - supported by exceptional table service. We had a lovely time. Yes it can be argued it’s a little price for a ‘curry’ but the portions were big, the food delicious and the service exceptional. So all in all absolutely worth it.

I decided to book Sindhu for my 10 year wedding anniversary meal. It did not disappoint. We opted to try the Tasting menu with the paired wines and it was amazing. Possibly the best culinary experience of my life!
As we worked our way through the courses they just built getting better and better. The whole evening was a delight and I look forward to returning soon.

Wow. Just wow !!!
What a dining experience.
We love our Indian cuisine and this didn't destroy our relationship with the food.

The table staff couldn't make the seating any better. No-one could do enough for us.

The food was in the main disappointing . As we had not been to this restaurant before we relied on reviews which seemed very good. Starters were fine but the main courses lacked flavour , especially the lamb dish.
Also the table we had for four of us was a large round table and it was difficult to hold a conversation due to the background noise. Don’t mind paying high prices for great food, but we had the prices without the quality.

Once again a fabulous experience at Sindhu. Just 2 things - sometimes I think the waiters, although friendly, should try to be a little more professional. I believe there should be a dress code as on this occasion there was a family dining in what I would consider unsuitable (dirty) attire. Children should be controlled as well as it spoils the lovely ambience of such a high-calibre restaurant.

We travelled from Cheshire to try this restaurant. A wonderful meal. We chose the 7 course tasting menu which was really good. My husband has always said that he didn't like Indian food but we have wanted to try Atul Kutchars food for a long time and now as Sindhu is in Marlow we were able to travel without having to go into London. Happily he really liked this menu. The flavours were subtle and delicious. I don't think this will have converted him to the local Indian take out but we would certainly come back to Sindhu again if we are coming in that direction.

We chose the tasting menu with wine pairing - which was disappointing. The food flavours were nothing to be excited about. The venison and duck were over cooked , the dessert was less than average and some wine choices were almost amateur.- in fairness, when asked the manager changed the wine choices to more suitable selections .

Had the tandoori rattan to start, wow, the sea bass and prawn were the stars. Sea bass should be a main course. The biryani was actually enough for two, great to have the traditional way. Dhal a brilliant classic.

Had Aubergine steak for starter, too many seeds on top, no taste.
ordered beetroot kofta, very nice, but it was smaller then the starter portion, my sister had fish never had such a small piece of fish before. Desert kulfi was nice again it seemed less then half a kulfi. Rice and daal for sharing for 2 persons, most of the michelline restaurants in London give individual daal and rice and not sharing
Coffee £5.10 over the top.
Over all location is nice, would only give 6 out of 10 for the food.

Very average food for the price. Not good value for money at all. Good selection of wines. To top our night, the restaurant did not accept the OpenTable cheque as partial payment even though we checked up front and they were not listed on the excluded restaurants on the OpenTable website. Had the food been amazing, we could overlook this, but in the end it just wasn't worth the money.
