Delicious set lunch menu at Sindhu. Quality of the food was excellent and very good value for money. The restaurant is a bit old fashioned feeling but lovely views over the Thames at Marlow. We need to return to try the other dishes on the menu as we found it hard to choose.
Great food and a fantastic view over the river and bridge in Marlow.
A lovely lunchtime experience. Exquisite indian food, cooked and presented well. The taster menu was delightful and excellent value with the 6th of the 7 dishes being almost a main course in its own right. One minor point was the halibut was a little over-cooked. Attentive, friendly and professional service. We were sat at a lovely table overlooking the weir with a fly fisherman casting from a flat bottomed boat completing the Compleat Angler experience.
Excellent food, service good but bill wrong , corrected quickly
Delicious food and excellent service as always. Highly recommend the tasting menu, the halibut was the stand-out dish!
Food was sublime. The service was seconnd to none. Would definitely recommend.
Food was delicious, main course was very large which detracted from overall tasting menu as was just too much.
Provided an anniversary extra which was a lovely touch.
Staff were friendly but not very knowledgeable on what was being served which detracted from the user experience.
However would highly recommend and came away overly full but happy!
Went for a belated birthday (planned in 2020 but unable to go due to lockdown). Well worth the wait - lovely food, great service and perfect location.
Excellent service and food
Another delicious lunch at Sindhu. We enjoyed ALL of our food and particularly enjoyed the prawns we had to start. They were some of the fattest prawns I’ve eaten and coated in a super crunchy, light batter. The Peshwari naan is also worth a mention, packed full of coconut and it was hard not to eat too much and make it difficult to eat the rest of our food. We will definitely return to Sindhu but are hoping to visit Benares soon
Good food , good atmosphere shame about the slightly under trained staff stop me
However that won't stop me from going again.
Very nice decor and friendly service. The food was sublime. Indian food at its best.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Sindhu, lovely setting albeit a little noisy on arrival. The food was very flavoursome and plentiful.
Had a really enjoyable lunch with friends
Food was lovely, service great and coffee outside in sunshine!
Thank you for making lunch special
Overall the service was average - had to call and remind the waiter for menu, drinks and even the bill a couple of times before we got it. Mostly the food was great but the Scallop starter and the Deer main were a bit disappointing as there was no real flavour. Plus our meal was disrupted by some spiders coming down from the ceiling (photo attached) - maybe due to hot weather but we wouldn’t expect or want such insects in our food.
Stunning views of the weir are by far the best feature of this restaurant. Everything else is below average at best. Bless them they’re trying, but it’s not even close to professional service. The food is bearable, but nothing exceptional. It’s formulaic, and the chefs do not understand their ingredients.
Meal beautifully presented, could taste the spices. Not too hot. Starters we could of had again. Attentive and excellent service. The whole experience was just perfect and we look forward to a return visit.
Excellent overall! Beautiful starters of scallops and prawns… very tasty. Mains of seafood curry huge portions and again very tasty! Sides of one pilau rice and peswari Mann with asparagus and paneer sides. No room for dessert unfortunately but there was a good list. Coffees on the lawn by the River and a little hoc cake and candle for my husband. Quite expensive but for a special treat … excellent
Second time in recent weeks Food pretty good although the chicken was soooo overcooked and lacking in flavour. Also seasoning is a bit off and takes 5 minutes to get salt by which time the starter was cold. Once again the service was just bad. Staff aren't well trained and don't seem to know much about food or wine as well as slow to respond. Bottle of wine was warm and "oh sorry, the fridge is broken" This time I didn't pay the service charge and they didn't seem to care and certainly didn't ask why.
Don't think Atul would be impressed.
Took my mum for her 60th Birthday and it was great good location for a drink by the river and the every course of the tasting menu was fantastic.
Great food and drink in this restaurant, which also benefits with a wonderful Thames view. The service was friendly and attentive and this late anniversary lunch ticked all the boxes.
Relaxed atmosphere and great outlook. Food was delicious the staff attentive with the bonus of Atul chatting to the diners.
Waitress needed more menu training. Poppadoms should be complimentary when the menu is as costly as it is - very cheeky to charge extra and that set a bad tone. Lighting seemed to be an issue whilst there with lots of on, off and fiddling with combinations to get them right which was annoying. Air con up too high and it was cold. Food was lovely though and lived up to expectations with generous portions and amazing flavours.
Had heard so much about this chef that we had super high expectations. On arrival, we were shown a table right at the entrance of the restaurant even though they were plenty of other tables closer to the windows and views. Food was really average. Staff did their best but it was evident that some of them had not been there very long and lacked knowledge about the menu and the wine list. Food was ok, not worth the 45mn drive to get to it.
the sauces on every meal were the best i've ever tasted
Best meal we've had in years, in a picturesque setting and with fantastic service!
I used it before but this time is beating my existing expectation. I will be back.
Amazing food best ever Indian we have had. We have travelled around India staying at top hotels and the luxury train. At Sindeu we had the 7 course tasting menu the flavors were amazing in each dish.
Service was excellent.
Delicious food. Very nice experience. Good staff.
Absolutely amazing meal so much flavour! All the wines were delicious too. Only criticism if anything was the size of the main course which was just too much, delicious but we felt bad for leaving some!
Absolutely wonderful restaurant. Food and staff were perfect
The food was as expected, outstanding. We had the tasting menu and could not finish all of the last course. The noise level was very loud and in our opinion unbearably so. The staff did their job but completely lacked any kind of personality, enthusiasm or dynamism; they simply undertook a process. We very much enjoyed the food but as an overall dining experience it was really quite disappointing, and particularly so for the amount we paid. The high service charge automatically appearing on the bill did not reflect the low service level and very reluctantly paid.
Lovely food, attentive service and generally good value for money considering the standard.
Want something different. Sindhu offers a really different taste of India
My partner and myself brought my mother here for a much delayed 80th birthday lunch. The service was amazing and the tasting menu was just fantastic. Attentive and great service, would definitely recommend if you want great food in a great setting.
We went a la carte and were not disappointed. Generous portions of gorgeous food which is quite different to any other Indian we have been to. We have also been to Kanishka in London which is also part of this group - also excellent. We had main courses of halibut, lamb curry and chicken - all beautifully presented and hot. Sadly we didn't have room for pudding! We will be back again very soon. May I also add that we felt very safe - hand sanitizer on each table and tables well spaced.
First rate in every way. Really good value for money
Amazing Indian food with a difference. The roe dear fillet was a culinary gem and the starters outstanding. My wife loved the duck. What more could you ask for?
Went here for our wedding anniversary. We’ve wanted to try this for a few years and finally got there. It certainly didn’t disappoint. We had the 7 course tasting menu with wine and every mouthful was divine. The staff were very attentive and really lovely. Would highly recommend.
