Singel 101 Restaurant
Excellent meal, charmingly served would definitely return
Excellent as always. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is so tasty. We will coma back for sure
Singel101 has an engaging concept: you tell them what you can't eat and they 'create' a meal for you from fresh local produce. Obviously they create the same meal for everyone - it's a spin on a set menu approach. But that doesn't matter when the food is this delicious - small servings bursting with big flavour, so you come away having appreciated every mouthful, fully satisfied without feeling bloated. Also, not knowing what you're going to be eating builds a real sense of anticipation and excitement, which sees you enjoying things you might not otherwise have considered. All of this rounded off with brilliant service. I would thoroughly recommend.
We loved it was soo nice and my husband had a great birthday dinner
It was the second time when we were here. The food is just amazing. The host is such a nice person. Location is very good, near a canal. I will definitly come back
Every bite is delectable here. The food presentation is beautiful as well. The 5 course dinner was just the right amount of food and variety. Just make sure you eat lunch so you aren't extremely starving when you get there. It took around 3 hours to receive all the food which is normal for a European dinner, but you only receive a tiny bit at a time during the 3 hours.
What a lovely spot, the food is great, equally exciting and comforting, the service is familiar and friendly and the wine is wonderful, a typical “neighbourhood spot” that is so much more. Take friends, family, significant others and business partners, you won’t be dissapointed!
Wonderful food and charming hosts meant we had a really delightful evening at this great restaurant. We went for 4 courses and they were each delicious and full of flavour whilst also being light. I would thoroughly recommend an evening here.
Food was “meh” services was “eh” hostess was the mostest (nice to have friendly point-person). Slightly over priced but it’s by the canal so that’s a plus. Maaaybe is go back...10 less euros per person and I’m back.
Initial difficulty with the table but soon fixed
Lovely meal following the Kings Day celebrations
Great food and service
Definitely would go back
The menu was set. The three course meal was a total surprise! A delicious surprise.
Excellent food, very friendly and helpful staff, reasonably priced food and wine. Will definitely be back!
This is a small restaurant. It has a upstairs with a very narrow staircase. It was a pre-fix menu with several courses. They were Spanish flavors and very much like tapas size. The first course was a bread basket with glass laboratory tubes full of beef bouillon. My husband had the fish menu and I had the vegetarian menu. It was a very interesting meal but very high-end. Our poor waitress had to run up and down the stairs all night to bring everyone their food upstairs. But she was very wonderful and made lots of great suggestions. I definitely recommend it and you should definitely have a reservation.
Pick three, four, or five courses. You can let them know if you have any preferences or allergies. Then sit back and let them bring you some incredibly good dishes, whatever the chef is making that evening. Wine pairings are optional but at €6 a glass why not? And they are very nice pairings. My server was wonderful. Space is narrow but still comfy, tables are no too close together.
Excellent dinner! We have dined here twice and the food, service, wine pairings, and ambiance have been outstanding. Opt for the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. You will not be disappointed!
Incredible it was so frickin incredible theres nothing wrong with this, i do wish there was a little more food on my plate but i gotta day it was incredible non the less
Mooi menu met bijzondere twist
It is a Very good restaurant ! We will be back sooner !
A good location, very helpful staff and a great place to taste quality Dutch seasonal food
Wanted a really special restaurant for or Anniversary....I am a Chef and my partner is a fussy eater, so when you hear that you are eating at a restaurant without a menu, you become a little hesitant. DO NOT let that be an issue for you! This place has to be the best palce to eat in Amsterdam. The amazing food we received during our 5 courses allowed us to try things we would never think to order. The flavours were out of this world, the presentation was outstanding, the variety of food and mixture of flavours and textures were exquisit and the best thing about this restaurant is the amazing Owner and her staff. They make sure you are catered for, paid attention to, but also left to enjoy what is placed infront of you. They ecplain everything about the dishes that are placed infront of you and any dietry requirements are no problem to them and with the fantastic hosting and atmosphere, this place definatley deserves nothing but 5 stars and a gleeming reference. Was the food worth the money, ABSOLUTELY! Is it a restaurant we will return too...WITHOUT A DOUBT. I would have taken pictures to show you all, but we had so much fun, we forgot to take any!
This restaurant is an absolute gem. I discovered it on Open Table by chance on a business trip. Great service and exceptional food. You don't get a menu, you get what you're given. And if you like to be surprised by incredible, Michelin-starred type flavour-explosion food, then you're in for an amazing treat. From the amuse bouche to the freshly baked bread to the little surprises between the courses, it's all fantastic. I took three courses, a gin and tonic and a glass of wine and still had change for 50 euros. If this restaurant were in London, it would be charging at least double and would be packed out. Go!
Simply spectacular. What a terrific dining experience !
Chefs menu, every dish a secret til presented.
Presentations were artful and eclectic. Service was excellent. Was with my daughter and her two college mates. They were agog with excitement every course.
Chef accommodated one with some diet restrictions without a blink. A top-10 meal for me.
Fantastic treat, as I have never had a surprise menu before, it was very cool. Would go back again. Small, cosy, and yummy.
It was my second time there and I will gladly come again. The food is exquisite - you can call it art on the plate. But the real deal in that restaurant is the family who runs it. It gives the location the soul which many others are lacking. Just a lovely place to be and enjoy.
Amazing próx fix menu. Lovely evening, spotless service
Truly a gem! The young chef is creative and smart in his use of very fresh ingredients. The owner-waitress is charming and helpful. All of the dishes we had were superb, from the beet appetizer through halibut and quail courses to an astonishing chocolate dessert which included a passion fruit-filled “ball.” Wines were well selected and reasonably priced. We would love to return and be surprised again by a menu that changes every evening!
Very nice and homey. Service was excellent and menu was very good as well.
Everything about Singel 101 is delightfully unexpected and delicious. Creative courses follow one after the other, each an absolutely marvelous balance of the local ingredients used. I highly recommend selecting the wine pairing along with your meal
The food was divine. Different flavors and textures that were interesting to the palate. One of the best meals I have had.
Went here to celebrate a 5 year anniversary. The food was delicious and really fun not knowing what was coming until it was placed in front of you. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and they were great about making sure the dishes were okay for me to eat. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend for a nice occasion!
Highly recommended - amazing food, creative presentation and good service!
Creative and delicious dinner with friendly, gracious service. Each course was a tasty and memorable surprise. Miso soup with lemon grass, for example, was served in test tubes. If ever we return to Amsterdam, we’d love to dine at Singel 101 again.
Great night for a single business man
Julia (the owner) is wonderful, welcoming and accommodates all special requests. We dine at Singel 101 every year, and she remembers us and greets us with a big hug. The food is amazing and wine selections to pare with each course.
We have eaten at Singel 101 a few times now. The service is always great and the food is the best I have sampled in Amsterdam. They cater for my husband who is gluten intolerant and my vegan son without a fuss. We all love the concept and have never been disappointed by the menu.
In one word: perfect. Everything from the location, the very friendly staff, the great food, the concept etc. It was for the first time trying this concept of meal without a menu. We choose the 5 course meal and a white wine (very good wines). Every dish was a very nice surprise. The ingredients used were so different but so well put together. We will come back for sure.
Every course was a treat. The presentations were creative - from test tubes and spatulas to wooden boxes!
The meal and the service was impeccable. My friends and I were so impressed with how accommodating and friendly the restaurant were to us and how it felt like home. Would definitely visit again.
It was my brother’s birthday and we were concerned that there was no menu (menu changes daily). They quickly assured us they could accommodate our preferences. Great experience and friendly, warm service.
Excellent cosy family run restaurant. Good value for this level of seriously delicious inventive food. Highly recommend.
