Amazing location with fantastic views. Service was friendly and professional. Sunday lunch food was really good. Wine list is extensive and interesting with a fair number of more reasonably priced options.
The staff were welcoming helpful and informative. The food was delicious and the atmosphere and views were really good
My wife and I visited Six to celebrate her birthday. I had preordered some champagne and asked for a table with a view over the cricket ground. Everything was perfect and as expected when we arrived.
The service was excellent - friendly but professional. The food was exceptional and the ambiance was brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this as a special place to spend an evening.
Great views of Trent Bridge, service attentive and efficient. Food was well presented and tasty. Although supporting local produce is lovely, felt the local red wine from Derby was awful - perhaps need to reconsider - thankfully wasn't charged for it, which was nice.
Great food and service, with a lovely view over Trent Bridge and south Nottingham.
As a member of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club I had high hope that Six would meet the high standards of service and friendliness I experience when attending cricket at Trent Bridge- I am delighted to say my expectations were exceeded on every count. Congratulations on hosting a first class evening.
Fabulous both times we have been, and will dine here again
Very pleasant lovely food well looked after would go again
I thought the food quality was excellent however the textures of chocolate was somewhat underwhelming to say it was the most expensive desert. Portion sizes for an ala carte main course were also questionable. £24 for two bites of chicken?
Lovely meal at six, well catered for gluten free diet.
Good value Sunday lunch in a stylish and interesting location
My Wife and I went there for our anniversary. Thank you Six for the complete experience. Will go again.
Great venue and view although can imagine better in light of summer and food was very tasty and well put together. The service was perfect and everything we asked for was well taken care of by the whole team.
Wonderful food and excellent service. Nice selection of interesting cocktails. Lovely setting but not many people in on a cold wet Thursday evening which was a shame. Will definitely be back.
Really enjoyed my birthday meal here. The food was amazing along with the service
Utterly disappointed with the experience. The resturant manager was rude, the food was so disappointing. The heritage tomatoes was the smallest starter I have ever seen, lacking taste and outrageously expensive. There was no attention to detail in the service, I had mentioned it was for a 70th which wasn't even acknowledged. It felt like it was an effort to have us there. For the prices charge nothing should be a problem.
Honestly, out of all the fine dining resturants in Nottingham this is far the worst
Excellent food, great service & very polite , helpful staff. Would definitely recommend & return.
Beautiful ambience and very friendly staff.
Quality of food was excellent but the quantity was a bit light, especially as it isn’t cheap. If you are a hungry person then you might need to take a snack!
Some of the most incredible food I have ever had and I would be more than happy to come again. Of course the food was a bit pricey but, it was a very special occasion and well worth the money. You pay for quality and that is exactly what you get. People waiting on you hand and foot, and they couldn't do enough for us. Absolutely loved it!
We were presented with a drinks menu but when my wife chose a non-alcoholic cocktail it was unavailable for some reason. Disappointing after perusing the list for a few minutes.
The setting and views are stunning but we found some of the food a little lacklustre with not enough contrasts of flavours and textures compared to other high-end restaurants we have visited.
Despite these comments, I would visit again in the future.
First visit and really enjoyed it. Food, staff and views amazing, wonderful setting. Only downside unfortunately we were the only table of 4 for lunch so lacked ambience... hopefully the word will spread and more will come for lunch! I believe it is busy at night.
Great Ambience, Luxury setting, beautiful views! The Food was incredible, staff were attentive, highly recommend
Fantastic service from the moment we arrived, with friendly, attentive staff. The decor of the bar is amazing - deep, gorgeous colours throughout and lit perfectly, so you can enjoy the views of either the cricket ground or the city. The cocktails we had were delicious, and not like any we’d had before. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere - light and airy, and not too formal. It felt very welcoming. The waiting staff continued to be attentive throughout the evening, and James in particular was brilliant. The food was some of the best we’d ever eaten, especially the venison - it was like velvet! The stream trout I had for my starter was beautiful - it was so fresh. I’ll most definitely be returning to Six.
No Atmosphere. A lunch for two but we were the only people in the restaurant. Might be very different in the evenings but not lunchtime. Strange as our usual fine dining haunt is often fully booked for lunch even with 10 days notice.
Had a three course lunch mid-week, the service was excellent, each dish was full of the taste of each piece of food & wonderfully cooked & plated, & our waiter explained each dish in sufficient detail to appreciate them. My summer salad starter was particularly delicious, the Packington chicken main was wonderful & my chocolate delice & hazelnut dessert was lovely. The complimentary bread & whipped butters (one being flavoured with cep & truffle) were a surprise treat. Waiting between courses was just a few minutes & we liked the background music (bit jazzy). The restaurant is spacious & conversations on each table weren’t able to be overheard nor were disruptive. A very enjoyable experience.
Small portions unreasonably expensive!
Excellent experience overall.
For a restaurant of this standard the service was poor. We waited a long time for bar service. Our first choice of wine was not available, later after dinner both our choices of drink were not available, all were standard choices. The wine for the meal arrived after we had finished the starter. We had to ask for wine refills several times during the meal. An unfinished bottle of wine disappeared, we had to ask for its return. We didn't expect big portions but these were the smallest we've experienced, they were almost taster meal size.
For us restaurant Six is a very welcome addition to the West Bridgford food scene, we were looking forward to our visit and really hoped it would be a place we could frequent regularly. The view is great, the rooms attractive and the staff welcoming. The food was mostly delicious and well presented however a major negative for us was the miserly portion size which unless addressed would sadly put us off returning or recommending the restaurant. My scallop starter at £16 consisted of one scallop cut into three pieces and very little else. A further example would be the sides of which our party of four chose to share three. At £3.50 each we received a plate of five, tiny finger sized carrots, a plate of new potatoes with delicious dressing (no more than four salad sized potatoes cut up) and a plate of six or seven small broccoli spears. Given the cost of a few extra vegetables I would have to question the wisdom of this level of penny pinching and sadly we all left feeling hungry and a rather less than willing to return. Having read other reviews, I can now see that this has been an issue for other diners and would urge restaurant Six to please take this point on board. It is great to have such an attractive fine dining option in the area and we hope you’ll be around for a long time to come.
Great place, lovely food and drinks, we will definitely visit again soon
We went for Sunday Lunch @ 14:00. The food was nicely presented, and tasted superb.
The staff are very attentive, without being intrusive.
Great views of the ground, shame there was no cricket on.
It was fairly quiet (numbers wise) when we went, but was a very enjoyable experience.
Will go again.
Incredible service and food. Would certainly recommend to friends and family.
Another special occasion I will return
A lovely evening with the best view of Nottingham. Everything about the evening was exceptional my only constructive point would be that the portions are slightly to small, specially the sides!
Can’t wait to return & be spreading the word
Great service, food and view
Fabulous location and ambience. Amazing cocktails, none of your run of the mill drinks.Had a Left Lion which tasted like no drink I'd had before... Delius!
The lamb I had as a main course was superb. So tender and flavoursome.
Will definitely return
We had a 7pm booking and it was a little quiet, I would advise people to have dinner a little later.
Amazing experience. Very good food and very good service. Very relaxed and unique venue. Will remember this lunch for a long time.
Celebrated my husband’s birthday here as a couple on Wednesday evening. Great food and the service was fantastic. We expected it to be quiet as it was mid week but the restaurant did lack ambience. I’m sure during the day when you can see view of the grounds and it’s busy for corporate entertaining it would be excellent, but for an evening venue when it’s dark it was far too sparse. Just a candle on each of the tables would have made a huge difference. The bar area is really cool and well styled, but the restaurant area just felt like it wasn’t quite there. Can’t fault the food though!
Went for Sunday lunch with friends the experience was great, the food excellent the views of the cricket was stunning, the wine prices were really reasonable for the standard of the restaurant.
We find it difficult to find decent restaurants in Nottingham but the Six is worth a visit and I look forward to trying out the lunch and dinner menu
Excellent food, drinks and service. Stylish decor. Amazing views. We will definitely be back.
