Excellent views and great food!
Great way to end the night with amazing views of DC
Everything was cooked exquisitely! The views are one of kind. It was noticeably colder at the tables near the AC vents by the windows.
Views are great, except when you’re looking into people’s apartments. Service was ok, not great but not bad either. The food was meh, it wasn’t mouth watering but it wasn’t bland either.
It was date night for my wife and I. The food and service, along with the ambiance and view were great. Our first time at the Skydome Restaurant will be very memorable.
The view is great. The food is nothing to brag about give the price. Go for cocktails and a view.
We planned to eat here because we had our two grandsons, Canyon and Sawyer, with us. They loved it! So did we! The food was delicious. The boys each had a steak...filet and New York strip. They could cut them with a fork. The sides were good too. We will come back again, probably in October with other friends. Being from South Carolina, we cannot just jump in the car for the evening in DC. I would recommend this Skydome Restaurant to everyone. The ambiance and view were incomparable!
It was nice. Parking was the only down side. Lady at the bar was great.
The view was amazing. The food was good but really mediocre for the price. They definitely need more servers, we went on the weekend and only two servers were working. Definitely worth going for at least the view.
We enjoyed my birthday dinner. We will be returning to see you. :)
The dinner was great, I thought the selection had a good range of prices and a wide variety for different palates. The music choice was strange for the type of restaurant, but all in all a great date place.
Wonderful experience. Would definitely visit again.
We were very disappointed with the atmosphere and food. When you walk in it feels like a diner. A table cloth would have been nice when you’re paying top prices. The food was not good at all. We had the lobster roll bites appetizer, the rockfish with crab gratin and the short rib dinners. All very disappointing. First and last time for me.
The view is awesome and the ambiance is very nice as well. Real nice place for a date, friendly staff, great food, and just a different experience from your normal restaurant. This will definitely be one of our go to places now.
The ambiance was beautiful. Get the short rib. It’s the bomb. We also got the rockfish which was mediocre. Our server was was very attentive and nice.
Getting to the Skydome restaurant was somewhat confusing. The service was polite, not overly welcoming. The atmosphere was that of a glorified canteen. The views were nice but not spectacular. The food was mediocre, decent but not inspiring. The price/quality ratio was high . I would not necessarily recommend it to friends.
The evening started off with a negative impression, the maitre d' told my friends that he would give up our reserved table by 7:10. My friends were already having a drink at the bar and we were parking the car in the building. This was most disconcerting when we looked around the dining room while we were eating and the tables were not even half filled. Idle threats are not appreciated.
The waiter was really rude, I just got in from Florida and was so excited to do this restaurant, but he gave me a dirty look when i just ordered a salad and then would not come back to my table I had to physically go to the bar to get my check. Very rude.
First and foremost, please note that you should visit this restaurant for the view, and the view alone. It's lovely to see the DC/Arlington skyline both in daylight and at night. The service is okay, but nothing special; for example, we booked the reservation with a special note about a birthday celebration, but it was not acknowledged in any way. The food is overpriced ($48 for a steak that was overcooked and fatty; $36 for rockfish that was dry and tasteless, mixed drinks were watery) and the decor is not memorable. I would recommend this restaurant for a one-time visit to enjoy the view and take photos, nothing more.
Perfect birthday dinner
Amazing place and the food was exceptional. Music was nice too. The veiw is always the best and the waiting staff are great as well.
Overall, I felt neutral about my experience, and neutral enough that my wife and I decided that we don't need to go back. Although, I would still recommend the place for the unique experience it offers. Merely based on the view, it rotates, and the food is pretty good, if someone is up for a mix of things only. The inside of the restaurant still feels like a hotel, my personal opinion is that it should be different, so I was not impressed by that. It is expensive there, but fair since the food was pretty good and offers the only experience of its kind in the area. It was busy at first when we arrived, but toward the end of our meal it was pretty bare and the service was still slow. It was painfully slow when waiting for the check. Last thought, they need to do a better job with access security and stop certain people from even coming up the elevator. There is a dress code, or so I have been told, and a gentleman was able to come up and just mosey around the place in baggy shorts and a t-shirt. Regardless of dress code they had to call the police to remove him, I am not sure of the actual reason, but I give everyone props for not making a huge deal out of it and keeping it under wraps in a controlled manner and it didn't really effect our dinner. We were a little disappointed with everything as a whole, we are still glad we did it, but we won't be coming back on our own and may consider it if family and friends really want to.
We came to Skydome to experience the rotating restaurant and great food. The food was very good, we had the blue crab cakes, grilled brussel sprouts and rustic rolls for starters, all very good! We had the rissoto and rock fish for our entree, also very good and nice portion sizes. The only problem we had was our server was pretty non-existent. Water was not filled and when we considered dessert (it was my birthday), it took 10 minutes to get a menu and after another 15 without an inquiry, we gave up and requested our ticket. The view is great in a very intimate setting.
Nice evening. Good food, good service, expensive but we felt the cost is worth it for the view. The view is the point. Recommend the Caesar and wedge salads, the goat cheese fritters, the rockfish crab gratin, and the mile high chocolate cake.
The Skydome restaurant gave us the most beautiful views of DC, the pentagon, Reagan National airport and the Kennedy Center at night. Being able to look at the Capital and Washington monument illuminated at night while we ate was just amazing. I've read some negative reviews but we thought the food was delicious, the service outstanding, and the view the best in town to see DC at night. We did eat there on a Thurs. night so we were able to sit right by the window. Highly recommend if you have a friend in town, like we did, and want to show them DC at night.
The service was more excellente than last time. We will keep coming.
"This place had an amazing ambiance. The lighting, the view, and the food made a perfect experience for an intimate dining experience. I would love to return to taste additional dishes. I had the rack of lamb and it was superb. Service was amazing and the waiting staff extremely professional."
Go to this place for the view, an appetizer, and a cocktail or two. But, be prepared to pay.
Let's get down to business.
Food: mediocre. I went with a party of 7, so plenty to observe as everyone ordered different dishes. The salmon received the best comments. It did look like it was cooked well. I had the rockfish/crab dish, not bad, but not great. Wagyu burger, really...anyone who knows anything about wagyu, probably wouldn't think this was even a Bubba's Burger wagyu. Don't buy it, much better burgers in the area. The short ribs looked like a fair dish as well, which is a tough dish to make. One can order a 34oz Tomahawk -- $82, I didn't have the stomach or courage to drop that... All in all, everything is pricey -- the appetizers are good though, hence my opening salvo. Brussel sprouts, yum. Crab croquettes, well, anything croquettes is a must try in my opinion.
Drinks: full bar, a couple good beers, average to above average prices for this area.
Service: A bit slow, we had to wave down the servers quite a few times and the place wasn't jumping.
Overall (and why I mark yes to recommending): have an out of town guest that hasn't seen the city, take them for an amazing panoramic view, have a couple drinks and an appetizer ... maybe save dinner for somewhere else.
Spectacular view. Professional service. Delicious food.
Food, service and ambience were outstanding, although the non-entree items were somewhat overpriced. Cocktails were below par and wine was only so-so. Service staff were attentive and helpful.
Was not impressed with the food and it’s over priced. However the waiter was very friendly I believe his name was Robert.
During July 4th celebration, there was a great shortage of deserts from the buffet. Overall, a bit pricey
July 4th 2019
View of fireworks was awesome!
Probably the best location in town!
Revolving around Arlington to view the sites of DC and Northern Virginia is a must see and do and eat delicious food at same time. We really enjoyed it.
Wonderful views and always great service...would visit again next time in DC
First off, the view is fantastic! It was breathtaking to see the national mall at sunset while eating dinner.
The food left me feeling less than satisfied. I ordered the prime rib and my fiancée ordered the rockfish with crab au gratin. My prime rib was good (a little salty but no biggie) but my fiancé’s rockfish and crab dish had absolutely no crab and it was not au gratin. The waiter argued with us that it was, so instead of letting it ruin our dinner (he proposed that night!) we let it go, especially since the fish tasted good.
The cocktails are a little pricey for what you get. I expect to pay $14-15 for a cocktail in the DMV, but they are usually worth the money. These tasted like mediocre HH quality drinks.
Also, they cook the food downstairs and it is wheeled up in an elevator with everyone else. An employee on on the elevator with a cart full of food headed towards the restaurant. There were also two younger children in the elevator who happen to be the same height as the cart. One of the children sneezed directly on the UNCOVERED FOOD!! For the amount of money you’ll spend here, I’m pretty sure you don’t want your meal to be covered in sneezes before it gets to your table.
The view is nice, that’s about it. Save your money and go else where.
It was a great experience our first time to a rooftop restaurant and we enjoyed it. The view was amazing, food was delicious.
Far enough from the heartland to avoid traffic and have a view of the city. A must experience.
Great view; great food; prompt service. Prices were reasonable.
