Was an enjoyable meal out. Service was friendly and staff were attentive. Lovely location, with beautiful views across the Thames. Only downside was that some of the options for food were not available, which was a disappointment for the majority of our table of four.

Skylon is a lovely venue, but it is LOUD, making conversation difficult at times. Food was lovely, albeit service was slow if I'm honest. Polite, but slow. Overall it was ok, it's a place to be seen, but for this price point they could do better.

Really excellent food, a well collated wine list for by the glass or the bottle, and attentive but not intrusive service. And of course if you are able to a table near the river, an excellent view.

Arrived and unwittingly entered through a second entrance door. Approached the nearest desk but was abruptly told with a wave of an arm that 'its down there', 'it' being the desk where one might receive eye contact and a cordial welcome. No tablecloths on our table. Some tables had them (why not us?). Very average service. Perfunctory, just good enough. Custard for bread and butter pudding was almost non existent...dry. The service charge added is (13%). What happened to 10% or even 12.5? Then they add £1 to the bill for charity. Without asking. It makes you a miser if you object and ask for it to be removed. So it's like stealing money in such a way that you are too embarrassed to question it. I'll go back in 10 years if I have forgotten how mediocre it was.

Skylon is buzzy and atmospheric. The food can only be classed as average, service is patchy and you are best to avoid the pavlova desert which was extremely mediocre.

We were meeting 4 friends for lunch and had a great time. The set menu price was very good, however a few of us had Eggs as a starter and they were luke warm. The view of the Thames and the saxophonist were great. We will be coming back.

Well presented dishes 👌 Good red wine option for bottomless - top table service, very attentive & really liked the fact that we were not rushed. Brilliant views & Christmas brunch here. Highly recommend.

Vibe is very pleasant - a good option at South Bank to get away from the crowds, but food was not massively impressive. Couldn't believe that my smoked salmon came with a bit of very normal toast on the side.

This is a high ceiling room with a fantastic view of the Thames and what is happening below on the bank and on the river. Because of the room height it MAY be a bit more noisy than average. I marked down the service as the particular waiter we had was not of English origin and consequently did not fully understand what we we were asking, could not convey the information required in timely manner. He also was not totally aware of the menu and what was on it, as we had to point to items on the menu for the information to be understood. The actual food was delivered in a reasonable time, and was surprisingly better than we were expecting. All in all a better experience than anticipated.

Lunch for my daughter’s graduation. Our food and service were excellent. Can highly recommend the lemon sole. The steaks were delicious too. Excellent wine list and service was excellent.

This is a lovely room in a great mid 20C historic building overlooking the Thames, so that's the main reason we like it. Noise level was extreme - so waiter couldn't hear us and vice versa. Maybe the start of the Christmas party season. Worst bit was waiting 30 to 40 mins between first and second courses; hard to maintain enthusiasm for the evening then. Food OK but not enough to justify the prices. Restaurant team seemed overwhelmed. Have had better occasions here. Its a shame. But we probably will go back sometime.

The service wasn't as good as usual and it took a while after our arrival to get attention. This was probably because the restaurant was filling up. The wine we ordered did not arrive until we had almost finished our main course. By 7pm every table was full and it became specially hard to get attention and pay our bill.

All lovely food (fish) was as always great quality beautifully cooked and presented, service was tangibly improved since previous visit in late summer. Higher noise levels as we approach festive season a lot of large groups. Nevertheless, ambience was fine. Views as gorgeous as ever.

Simple to book a table and the staff were very helpful on arrival.The table service was very good and timely with great tasting food and wine. The ambiance was superb and the views of the river and lights was great. Overall we had a lovely meal that finished off our day in a great venue.

Was looking forward to trying Skyline and was expecting to give a 5* review. It's actually 3* because: Negronis were good (though in truth, its hard to make a bad one). Room was lovely but the acoustics need work. Starters were great, but the main course was poor - it was fish and chips, and my local chippie is better. Service was fine. But for what we had, it wasn't worth the money. Sorry.

Took a while to be seated, however once we had our table, everything went very smoothly. Had dietary requirements that were met with care and attention, and still a delicious meal despite the adjustments.

Appalling service 20 mins to be given menus 40 further mins to order 1 hour for drinks to be delivered 90 mins for first food to come out Some food was cold and had to be sent back Staff stood around chatting No apologies and suggestions that the speed was our fault because we didn’t order starters!

The staff were initially good. We ordered two different cuts of steak. One came as expected. The other was a joke. It was tiny. Even the waiter looked at it bemused. I questioned it. They said they’d go back to the kitchen to see the chef. My wife had to carry on with her meal. A good 5 minutes later mine came back. It looked better. It was fine to eat, but the initial plate should never have been allowed to be served. Then there was a shift change at 10pm and getting a member of staff was impossible. We were there for a birthday dinner - I had high hopes - we were let down. We won’t be rushing back.
