Unbelievable food, service and ambience. Would definitely recommend and return
The staff was very friendly and welcoming, the food was the best I've had in along time. The lamb meal was cooked perfect. The bar staff was warm hearted people and very accommodating in my cocktails and making u feel good and made u laugh
This is my second time at Smith & Wollensky recently, I opted both time for the offer Tomahawk steak a bottle of wine and two sides for £99 for two. The difference is that on the first occasion, we decided to have starters.
The waiter informed us on the second occasion there would be a 50 minute wait for the steak, when the restaurant was barely 20% full. After one hour I enquired about the meal, to be informed in an argumentative way it had only been a 40 minutes wait. I avoided an argument, and low and behold the meal arrived shortly after my enquiry. The attitude of the waiter was very poor, there must be a clear Smith & Wollensky policy of letting your clients wait in to try and see if they will order supplements to the offer, and indeed I heard the same waiter explain to a table nearby the wait for the offer, although by this time the wait was 30 minutes and the restaurant was full!
The food is good, the decor and ambiance is great, the attitude and service (not of all the staff) is very poor, when an offer has been chosen. Either do not provide an offer to the customers, or change your attitude and approach when serving a customer.
The guy serving us was really great he spent 20mins explaining the menu and he was spot on with everything
As always this restaurant never disappoints
Superb food , service and ambiance
Overpriced low quality food, except for the mashed potatoes. Excellent service, although a bit overbearing. I will not return.
Excellent all round. Could be noisy I suspect but very quiet when I dined there on Wednesday evening . Steak good value and beautiful but sides all in addition and well above average prices which pushed the bill up. Very enjoyable evening though, thank you.
Wonderful surroundings and decor, excellent steak.
Lovely surroundings good choice on brunch menu and generous with prosecco good value and great start to our day in town
Probably the best tomahawk steak I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned with a great flavour. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Really tasty steak and chips - super value with the fixed price deal for a filling 250g steak. Nice oysters (decent) with great hot sauce. Amazing desserts.
Amazing place, the food was really tasty however just felt our waiter to begin with was a little rude but he warmed up later on. We went for our anniversary and it was a lovely, dessert was a nice personal touch. Thank you so much
Awesome experience and service for an anniversary dinner. My boyfriend's steak was a little more pink than he wanted for a medium cooked but it was great with some A1 sauce. Definitely a favorite for homesick Americans!
The fries - while unlimited - let the meal down. They beautifully cooked a couple of steaks, only to let themselves down on the fairly pale, sad and underdone fries. Also, the macaroni cheese was a packet cheese sauce with a topping of cheese put into the oven to melt. Nothing special.
We were celebrating a birthday and the attention to detail, knowledge of the team and the delicious food made the whole experience brilliant. Absolutely wonderful evening.
Love the hospitality from Rich and the food is incredible.
Great service. Doorman was very courteous. Food was really tasty.
Very nice restaurant with a nice ambience. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good, well cooked and beautifully presented. The drinks were on the expensive side, and this pushed our bill up, but that is acceptable for an occasional treat. The cocktails we had were very enjoyable. The menu is a little limited, but what is there is very well done. The location is easy to get to, and pleasantly quiet.
Service took a while and felt overpriced for the offering.
Outstanding welcome, outstanding friendliness, outstanding service and absolutely outstanding delicious food! We could not have been happier with our experience! Thank you to everyone for a wonderful afternoon.
Great location. Excellent food and good portions. Will visit again
Excellent steak and great service.
Great steak. Went on a Monday and had to wait until 8 for our 7:30 table. There was an after work crowd and the noise level was pretty high.
Always like this place, but was a little disappointed with the service on this visit. Regularly having to hunt for waiting staff.
First time eating at Smith & Wollensky, I had heard good things and wanted to book a special meal for my partner's birthday.
We were seated downstairs which was quiet but not dead. I was a little disappointed by the service we waited a while before we were provided the drinks menu, even longer to be provided with bread on the table. It was all just a little lacklustre on the service front until another waiter jumped in. The steak is exceptional and the sides are a very good size, you wont be disappointed by the food!
Overall I would go back, however have eaten at restaurants with better service that are less expensive.
Lovely restaurant with helpful staff and great food. Definitely going back.
I must say having been to Smith and Wolensky in New York, this was not a patch. New York I couldn’t fault one little bit, however London was over priced for the quality of food, to be fare I have cooked better steaks from my local butcher on my BBQ at a fraction of the price, best Steak House it claims, I have had better for less money. Cheese cake for dessert was not what I call New York Cheesecake , so in all I was disappointed and will not be going back !
A very comfortable restaurant with nice surroundings, which was a bit quiet when went, but the food and service were top quality
Lovely food, great service and good value with the deal
Were sat at the end of the restaurant away from everything so we’re almost forgotten about. Food was good but it took them over 30 mins to come and attend to us after our meal had finished. Disappointing. Had also mentioned it was my partners birthday but nothing was done about this.
The waiter left us at table while he was parting with a bachelorette party. The manager had to bring us our check. Forgot our drinks and once brought we never got refills. Terrible experience
Great food with a pretty cool waiter. I’d recommend. Chill vibes inside.
The food was delicious. However, the service was extremely inadequate. We were seated for over 2 hours, start to finish, which included only a first and main course. We opted to forego any further drinks or dessert, as we sat for over 20 minutes after our meal was finished with empty water glasses and absolutely no offering of any other drink.....or anything else for that matter. I was sincerely disappointed in the restaurant experience, given its high ratings on OpenTable.
Wonderful food, great service!
American high end steak houses chain transposed to London. Well executed grills to a formula at a very high price, the starters are good but universally over priced. We went for a special, Tomahawk steak, two sides and a bottle of wine for £99 pounds, with two starters and two bottles of mineral water there was no change from £150, this was a good meal but in terms of value that’s missing, but that’s living in the Capital for you.
Great American steak house with superior meat. The service is awesome. Any problem is solved smoothly by the staff. Little expensive for the value. Good for special occasions.
Saturday lunch time visit.
In general everything was fine. The starters (Ceviche & Eggs Benedict) were reallynice although the Ceviche was not done in the Mexican way that I had expected.
Mains - Kansas T-Bone, Chateaubriand and Sirloin were all cooked just right, (all medium rare or medium) but I have to say the flavour from marbling that I would expect from prime USDA dry aged beef was not there, and the meat was a lttle salty. Also, the side dishes were rather on the small side compared to, say, a Ruth's Chris restaurant.
Wines were overpriced. Desserts were nice and the waiter was good throughout, although he was really able to respond to the above criticisms. Overall, an overly expensive lunch.
Overall, I would say it was good but not great value, and if you are
Birthday . Happy get-together . Delish!!
IT IS A VERY NICE RESTAURANT. IT HAS A VERY GOOD SERVICE.
