I guess when you go to a supper club you have to expect the guest from hell at sometime. Friday was that night. I’ve eaten here before and enjoyed the food and company, but no food is worth being talked over and lectured on what to think, do or eat. I’ll spend my money else where that is clean, and with company of my choosing.
Really enjoyed trying the new recipes, the candied pecan nuts were genius.
Very nice, tender steak with bone broth,
But the creme caramel really was the highlight for my gluten free friend.
We had a really superb experience. Venue apart the food was delicious and varied - Jack is an innovative and thoughtful chef with great ideas and he puts together the meal perfectly.
The Bao bun with crisp chicken tandoori was delicious enhanced by great sauces and the crisp chicken was well balanced against the soft bun. The onglet was slow cooked to perfection - tender and yet rare with sweet potatoes and tender stem broccoli - and his take on the pastel de nata was crisp on the outside and meltingly inviting inside - all finished off with a chocolate ice that would put many choc ices to shame!!
Really enjoyable evening with really nice and interesting guests sharing the table with us - the food was interesting although I fount it not amazing ... starter and dessert were a bit bland. But that is part of the experience and I'd definitely be back as I really enjoyed the whole experience and really appreciate the time and effort put into organising this.
Genuinely think this is one of the best dining experiences in Oxford. The atmosphere is so relaxed and the food is always interesting. You can usually guarantee you'll try a flavour combination you've never had before. Highly recommended.
Tasty, interesting, eclectic food. Friendly, communal atmosphere, great service. We will hopefully come back when they "pop-up" again!
Fantastic personal setting with a great seasonal menu that really makes you feel part of the time of year.
Very nice food. However, I found the very close atmosphre (sharing a table with the other diners) awkward - this was not made clear upon booking. Serving staff were lovely, very professional and helpful, but I feel it is their role in this unusual setup to help to make everyone feel at ease - arriving and sitting next to complete strangers with no introductions etc made it difficult to break the ice with other diners.

What a superb place to eat. Amazing food and wine for a reasonable price. Only tiny downside is sharing a table with other guests but it makes for a fun evening.

A really delicious seasonal meal in a lovely conservatory. All five of us had fantastic meals; herring roe on toast was my highlight. We had a good laugh with the people sitting next to us. It was a great evening. Hats off to Jack the chef.
It was a little strange at first to be eating in a stranger's house but, once past that, it became a very enjoyable evening. The menu was very interesting, with very creative dishes. There weren't many vegetarian choices but what was there was excellent. Would have liked a more 'private' table but it wasn't a problem and I guess many will like this aspect. The only small criticisms were that the dishes weren't executed as well as they could have been and the portion size was on the small size, but they were still very good as they were. Would also like to see alcohol free beer on offer but there was still some excellent bottled beer on offer.
Amazing food, jack came out and spoke to us about his experiences as a chef and explained the courses to us. Would highly recommend xxx
Came her for a romantic date, my date is Vegan can be tricky to find somewhere nice to cater for this diet.
happy to say the Vegan food was more than satisfactory very inventive and delicious, we had a great time and enjoyed the evening with some fun company around the gorgeous table.
Creative, unusual and delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. A great experience and excellent value for such good quality food. I would thoroughly recommend and definitely go back.
Rather underwhelmed by the menu selection and very underwhelmed at portion sizes. The pumpkin curry was tiny and certainly not enough for a portion. The tagliatelle was pretty unspectacular. The price for 3 tiny courses was steep compared to other pop ups. Not as good as we had expected. Surroundings a tad dusty and dirty , and the chef appeared at the end in the filthiest apron ! Not a good look.
Totally delicious food, excellent service and a warm and cosy atmosphere. Jack is a brilliant chef and the pop up restaurant offers diners a wonderfully unique experience.
Unique dining experience at the home of the chef - sitting in their library had a lovely homey feel. Our waiter was fantastic - attentive and witty but not too intrusive. The food was great - in particular the eel was rich and smokey, the gumbo was hearty, and the toast ice cream was simply divine. To top it all off we got to meet and chat with the chef afterwards about his interest in food. A wonderful night out with friends, highly recommend!
A lovely, peaceful little pop-up in a beautiful house, served by Jack the chef. The menu was small but every choice was tempting - all three of us tasted each others' dishes and were duly impressed. I was devastated that I couldn't get to the end of my salted caramel brownie and banana ice cream.
Jack was attentive, friendly and personally concerned with every diner's experience individually. He chose beautiful wines to go with the food and we all had a great chat while we digested.
I've already recommended his food to three friends and am seriously considering booking again this month.

A truely special dining experience thanks to Jacks wonderful menu which was absolutely delicious and surprising from start to finish... especially the finish!
