Based in the quaint village of Culcheth in the heart of Cheshire, Smokehouse stands out like an ostrich in a chicken farm. Amongst the churches and rolling fields, with endless heards of sheep, stands a building which looks and feels like it has come straight out of Texas. Along with the food inside, you wont find meat and tastes like this outside the USA. You can accompany the great flavours of our meat by guzzling down a few of our American beers or cocktails. However do be warned, the people of Culcheth will be out in force with pitchforks and flaming torches at the slightest bit of disturbance in their tranquil village.

Not the same quality as our previous visits. Brisket was tough. Very disappointing. Portions were surprisingly small.

Book online is the best way to reserve a table. When we visited last, the food was just about warn, mains bland in comparison to previous meals. Discussed with manager who promptly offered drinks or desserts. Would go back again

The restaurant is really nice. The staff were absolutely lovely. The steak was cooked poorly and we sent it back. The second attempt was also cooked poorly but we ate a bit of it and then just left. The waiter did not charge us for the steak and was very friendly. We would return as the service and atmosphere was great. We probably wouldn’t order the steak again though

Food took a long time to arrive, one starter didn’t arrive. Main meal took a long time to arrive, the brisket was very dry. We had to send back a drink as there was something floating in it. Not a great experience which is a shame is it’s a lovely venue

The ambiance was great, we loved the decor, it felt cosy. We had the sharing platter, it looked at first glance great, however I was expecting a man v food experience. The brisket was overcooked, or should I say over reheated. It was bone dry, as were the ribs, I thought they would be fall off the bone quality. The sides and the starters were good. I think the challenge when you serve low and slow cooked food is keeping it moist and juicy. I am assuming that the food was reheated if not I would sack the chef, nothing like the picture on the menu website. I would go again for a been in a nice atmosphere, but I would choose a freshly cooked steak rather than the slow cooked food, IMHO it looked reheated from the previous day.

Our first visit, the place is lovely. Slight mix up with the starters but it was explained to us that the waitress was new and they apologised for the mix up.
Service was great and the food was exceptional although we couldn’t finish it all.
If you’ve room for a desert, I can recommend the Biscoff cheesecake, it was delicious!!
Will definitely be returning.

We went to the Somehouse mid Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was quiet at this time.

The service was great and so was the food. We shared a platter for 2, that was lovely and could easily have fed another.

We will be back soon!

Poor quality food, took to long for each course , starters were terrible and main course could have been cooked better by my 10 your old son... Would never eat here again !!! The chef needs a cooking lesson how to prepare a Greek salad and onion bomb starter ...

Would not recommend! Turned up and was told they didn’t have any brisket, ribs or chicken (impacted my boyfriend not me) so they would do 2 4 1 on burgers to make up for it! I’ve been a vegetarian for over 6 years, I ordered the nachos with beans for a sharing starter there is NO mention that there is any meat in the beans. I ordered a vegan stacker for my main and the waitress still didn’t mention that there was meat in the nacho beans, it wasn’t until I ate some that I realised there was actually meat in it! The jalapeño poppers were cold. There was a ridiculously long wait between starters and mains, then there was several ingredients missing from my burger when it did finally come. When we asked for the bill they had originally charged us full price for the meal when we both ordered burgers and they were supposed to be on 2 4 1 due to having no stock! When we asked them to change the waiter was rude and walked off to get it amended as though he was doing us a favour when it was advised when we went in! Would NOT go again!

Shocking service .. slow .. brought mains before starters ... burgers pink inside after requesting they be cooked well done with the waitress ... didn’t have ribs or brisket available 5.30pm .. there had been an issue due to no meat delivery & kitchen running behind but we should have been advised on arrival ... on the plus side the manager was very apologetic & we did receive a huge discount .. rightly so as it isn’t cheap!

We waited 40 mins for starters, which they though we had already had and then asked could they bring them with the mains, we agreed as we were hungry and had been waiting, the mains came my order was wrong and my sons ribs were still pink and were tough, we wont visit again. It was my sons birthday and this ruined an enjoyable day.

Whilst the food was excellent the device was terrible. There was a big group next to us and even though we ordered before them they got served their food first. We had a long wait for the starter and an even longer one for the mains. We had to leave by 9:45 and even though we were offered a round of drinks it was no good to us as we had a deadline to leave by. Wouldn't go again unless it was not as busy.

Very noisey and poor seating arrangements, no music playing although wouldnt hear it over noise, some people using as a bar rsther then a restaurant and these arnt kept seperate so as you can imagine theres quite a few drunk people causing a scene, nice food and not a long wait but atmosphere was disappointing, menu hard to read alot going on on one page rather then straight to the point and detailed food description, drinks menu was not what was expected after seeing on Instagram and website.

The food was average compared to our previous visit a number of years ago. We were sat near the front of the restaurant so every time the door opened we were freezing. Then we were handed the bill which was for double the price as it has somehow combined the previous table and ours. Not a great experience and wouldn’t return.

The service was poor although it got better as the place got busier , odd but it was like they switched on , the staff stood with their back to us so we kept having to approach the bar where they were stood to get drinks and order🙁
They forget a starter , the main course I ordered was a chilli beef salad , which I sent back because the only thing in the bowl was lettuce , how can you get a salad wrong , it cane back too late disaster all round , for £80 I expected a lot better never again 🙁

Nice place to go and staff very warm and welcoming. Food wasn’t great tasted nice but expensive for what you got. Was expecting more . My husband paid £19.99 for a steak but was very disappointed when it came as was expecting it to be bigger than what it was , he loves his food and was very disappointed and wasn’t very filling.

The lad who took the order made up some excuse about a mix up at the till no apology no offer to knock some money off the bill. In all food was nice service was poor.

We ordered cocktails and beers which were told were on 2 for £5, 4 for £10 offer, when the bill arrived was charged full price. The waitress was very nice and sorted the problem, but felt awkward having to ask. The chicken burrito wasn't nice, poor quality chicken, not much flavour, too little filling. Other food our party ordered was good though.

Slightly disappointing
Table was booked for myself and my friend for my birthday
Service was rushed
We ordered a sharing platter but it arrived without the brisket , so we’re assuming they ran out and didn’t tell us in a hope we wouldn’t notice
I’d go again for casual food but I think it’s overpriced for what it is especially if there’s main components of your meal missing

Very slow service and food was only Luke warm nothing special for the price £4:45 for a tiny pot of coleslaw the kids meal took around 10 minutes longer than all the other meals to come out which spoilt the whole experience to be honest even though they did refund this dish it had already ruined the meal
