Welcome to Smoking Lobster Cowes, an Asian-Fusion restaurant overlooking Cowes Marina. Voted best Isle of Wight restaurant two years in a row.

Family owned by the Giancovich's, with recipes influenced by their extensive travels around Asia, and by their childhood of growing up hunting, gathering, and spear-fishing for seafood.

Our popular menu showcases Japanese and Asian dishes,
using contemporary cooking skills and presentation.
Sushi, sashimi & Japanese BBQ are the highlights.
Our local fisherman, Justin, catches our lobsters & line caught sea bass fresh for our use, so our dishes include the freshest possible ingredients from your local shores.

The bar menu reflects the elegant dishes from the kitchen, with precise, bespoke cocktails such as the Lychee and Cucumber Martini, all prepared using freshly pressed juices.

Excellent and friendly service, food came in a timely way but we never felt rushed, setting was ideal for an evening meal - and loud music, good ambience, stylish decoration. Food was very good - we had the seafood platter for two. Not a cheap option but we were very pleased we chose this restaurant for our stay in Cowes.

Fantastic food and service was exemplary. Taste combination and presentation so well done. It was vibrant but as a result very noisy and maybe tough for hard of hearing.

We visited with a gift card which we received at Christmas. Our waitress was lovely but it was so noisy we struggled to hear her. I had looked at the menu in advance but had misread it as I thought I could have pork as a main but found it to be a starter. We were confused by the fish of the day - because we couldn’t hear our lovely waitress! My husband chose the ribeye which he found delicious. I struggled a bit as I wasn’t sure of the menu so chose the mushroom. The sweets were gorgeous. The tables were very close together and we were seated behind a table of four people who were very vocal. The establishment was clean and the staff cleaned behind each table very quickly. We chose a 6.15 pm booking in the hope that it wouldn’t be busy but I guess it’s such a popular place that there isn’t a quiet time. Summary then….way too noisy, menu wasn’t huge and I didn’t understand it but my husband loved his steak! I wouldn’t rush to go back but I’m pleased we had the experience. We may well try the Smoking Lobster at Ventnor where, I understand, there are lovely views (our view was a walkway between two buildings) …..and I’d definitely check the menu in advance properly!
