We loved SO restaurant and we all would go back! the food was authentic Japanese and very tasty. Staff was also happy to accommodate at short notice two additional guests which was very welcomed.
Delicious food and great menu selection, however service was terrible and was extremely difficult trying to get the attention of the server to clean the table and to get the dessert menu and also getting the bill.
The variety of food was really wide. We had sushi and sashimi, the meat was really good quality. the service was really quick considering it was a Friday night.
The team were brilliant as always, welcoming and helpful, the very definition of service with a smile. The Tuna was exquisite and it is always a joy to taste such a prized product and seeing the respect, love and care with which it is handled. My compliments as ever to the Chef, accommodating my allergies and making my dining experience so memorable. Thank you so much and see you next week!
As always fantastic japanese food excellent sashimi brilliant tempura.
Very good service very good food
Great authentic food, the sashimi platter was extremely fresh and delicious. Some of the portion sizes are very small for the price. Nevertheless, we had an enjoyable meal and will recommend to friends.
Very friendly service at this small and intimate restaurant. The sushi platter was amazing and good value.
Food is amazing. Service is good. Good location and lots of potential for doing more. Lovely place.
Good food but a little pricey for what we ordered. Sushi and sashimi were the highlight!
Lovely gem. Wonderful food. The fatty tuna was divine, the aubergine exceptionally well cooked. Sitting at the bar, surrounded by Japanese couples and groups of friends, we knew we were in good hands :-)
My go-to restaurant for a working day lunch with a friend.
A real and authentic Japanese restaurant right in the centre of London that is full of Japanese enjoying great, classic dishes. The service is quick and efficient so a good play to get something quick to eat before the theatre.
Always a delight. Fresh, delicious food (including deserts - try the raspberry mousse!), polite and attentive staff, quiet and cosy. I always end up having sashimi because I know I can trust this place for a fresh and varied selection. A nice sake menu too - you can order a tasting set, otherwise the staff are more than happy to help you choose (I haven’t tried the wine so can’t comment on that). You can sit at the table or watch the chefs prepare your food at the bar. Never waited too long for my food. Oh and as someone who loves pottery I can say the tablewares are beautiful and there are so many different types!
Wouldn’t recommend at all. Over priced no music so was just quiet no atmosphere. Food had no flavour and almost everything was cold. Service wel non existence. Rice was the last thing I got. I would of liked it with my other dishes
The gras foie ju is beyond amazing!!! I will definitely go again.
So is a good choise if you are looking for a cosy ambient (still Japanese) in Regent Street. The service was very good and food excellent. Unfortunately we had a table exposed in the middle of the room, but incredibly quiet to have a nice conversation. Try the ice cream!
Probably the best japanese restaurant near Regent Street. Been to this place for more than 10 years now.
Always great! Service can be a bit slow at lunchtime - but that’s because the food is so good!
Service was disappointing . Staff were not attentive
Not a great restaurant at all. Food was not great but staff were OK.
excellent sushi and fast service. Quality lunch option
Lovely mordern environment and great quality food! Ideal place for a special night out!
Food was amazing .. but quite expensive for what it was.
Tuna was incredible as always, thanks for a lovely evening
Always consistently great. I go at least once a week for lunch.
Our overall experience was good, the staff was friendly though we had to catch their attention when we wanted to order our food, or another drink. The sushi and sashimi platter our friends shared was great, really good quality ingredients, nice presentation. The chicken didn't really taste great and the wagyu beef starter just doesn't really work - it would be better grilled rather than cold. We tried the tofu steak, that was also delicious and the starters were also nice.
Lunch set menu. Fresh salmon and tempura
Very average food, Michelin star price, no service basically.
We enjoyed our mains and a shared side of "Today's Sushi". It's a pricey menu, although the food was delicately prepared and tasted great. I would recommend for a bit of a splurge with a good friend or a date.
The "rice covered in goose liver" is fantastic, absolutely a must-have dish here. P.S: this dish is not shown in the menu, you need to ask the server for it.
Leckeres Sashimi und angenehme Location...
Excellent food. Best tempura we've had in a very long time. Excellent friendly service. Good sake selection. One of the very best Japanese meals we have had.
Super yummy food. Had to flag down a waitress after 15-20 minutes to order, and then for almost everything else we needed (a drink, the check, etc.). They seemed annoyed that we were there. No idea why - we were low maintenance.
We love the food at SO and this was no exception. Our favourite are the octopus, soft shell crab tempura and the aubergine. We were tucked in a corner and the restaurant was busy so service was less attentive than usual. Food was up to its usual high standard, the overall ambience less so. But it won't stop us returning.
Foie with rice is good as usual.
I would say the goose liver is really nice. This course is a kind of secret course which hasn’t shown on the menu, so we couldn’t expect the price... just a bit exceed to my guess price.. others were all fine
Really good atmosphere. Fresh food and a great service. Highly recommended.
Excellent quality sushi. Little hidden gem definitely be back!
Good value of money
