Brought to you by the team behind Social Pantry, Soane’s Kitchen is a restaurant situated in Ealing serving lunch and weekend brunch. Escape the city and enjoy our menu of seasonal dishes produced here within John Soane’s original walled kitchen garden.

We endeavour to only use the best produce from trusted, local and authentic suppliers. To give you a taste, we use Breckland Brown Eggs from Norfolk Quail Farm, our brunch jam from Butterfly & The Bee is handmade in Wandsworth and the sourdough bread is from Hedone in Chiswick.

We will aspire to grow the majority of our produce in the gardens as we settle into our new site. We hope you enjoy the fruits of our labour as we continue to grow.

Great room, superb location, staff were friendly and helpful. Group of four, some dishes were better than others. Overall food not bad, hasn’t been open long so room for improvement. But will definitely return- and they allow dogs which is cool.

Pitzhanger Manor is well worth a visit and the restaurant is set in a charming kitchen garden alongside the manor and an easy walk from Ealing Broadway Tube

Food was poor and friend tried to eat a salt beef sandwich but couldn’t as it was cold and inedible. Waiter just removed it virtually untouched and without question. We guessed that this was commonplace and that most people must leave most of their food too.

Unfortunately our second visit was not as great as the first one. Disappointing size of the portion with the tiniest bit of salmon, wrongly boiled poached egg that we had re-order and confused staff members of what is being offered on the menu. I don’t expect this place to be a top luxury spot but certain basics should be on point. The place itself is beautiful and the idea is great. However, this tiny things do spoil the impression.

Booked in advance and had a lovely table for 3 by the window. Choices for lunch were excellent and the staff were very helpful and efficient. We would certainly eat here again if we are in Ealing.

Food was good, staff lovely.
Just 2 problems - the superfood salad we ordered came without most of the ingredients and it took the staff a while to understand, don't think they are trained on what the dishes look like. They did eventually bring new salads with all the ingredients. And only when the bill arrived did it say "no cash". Staff couldn't handle the machine not recognising my card on contactless, and took the details 3 times without being able to give a receipt showing failed transactions. Again, more training might help.

Very pleasant cafe attached to Pitzhanger Manor. Wish I had gone for the set menu which is very good value but I was with a friend who only has one course! Lovely staff and nice ambience.

very limited menu and even then they had run out of one of their main lunch items. They failed to warn us it was running low when we took our table (which we'd booked) and then handled it very unprofessionally when we raised the matter, instead just dismissing it as "it's a Bank Holiday you know". The item I ordered instead was overpriced for what it was and lacking in flavour.

Lovely venue for a restaurant, with a warm welcome and a nice buzzy atmosphere. But £14 for a superfood salad made it very expensive, and several items on the menu were not available. The cakes looked very good.

Lovely pulled pork burger and perfect chunky fries. We did not get to cake but they looked very appetising. They do a £20 bottomless Prosecco brunch that would love to try one day. Nice setting and ambience, clearly popular with groups of young women branching and good for children as well as couples. Staff are accessible, quite busy, but polite. Would go again.

My friend and I loved the setting of the restaurant. The menu was comprehensively varied catering for all manner of tastes. The portion sizes were spot on.
The only problem we encountered was the language barrier with the delightful waitress. It would seem to be her first shift and while she was very attentive, she was unable to answer a few simple questions regarding the menu, and clearly, simply had not been trained about the menu. We requested a swap of potatoes for salad and received both, because she didn’t understand the language sufficiently enough.
It is absolutely not her fault, that full training before her first shift, including conversational English scenarios, was not undertaken by the management.
I have already raved about the place to friends and family and will definitely be revisiting soon.
If you get the service right, concentrating on great training of the lovely staff, then I will be ticking 5 stars all the way.

I love the idea of Soane's Kitchen - great location, bright, airy, smart. My husband enjoyed his salt beef sandwich. The quantities are good and I was so happy that a half-portion was accommodated. The staff are friendly and although someone checked whether we were ready to order appropriately, we needed a bit longer than usual and then we were forgotten until the manager (I think) spotted us and took our order.
Unfortunately I was disappointed with my food and, with all the great restaurants in Ealing, it's not somewhere near the top of my list. My poached egg had raw egg white. I sent it back and a better one came, only to find the white was still raw at the end. I didn't find the food flavoursome.
I'd love to go back but it'll probably be once my memory has faded and then, not for brunch.
Oh and I think that pop music is a weird background sound that doesn't fit with the environment which is really pretty and calm.

A very pleasant restaurant attached to the newly refurbished Pitshanger Manor in Ealing. Lunch choices were interesting and portions generous. A good reasonably priced wine list, including many available by the glass. We’ll definitely go back!

Tasty food, great atmosphere and good service. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is the fact that the menu on the website it's different to the menu at the restaurant. Content on the website is not updated.

This is a nice space with a well designed exterior.
The furniture is not too comfortable for sitting at a table.

It was very nice for lunch. However my partner had Ceasar Salad which was just average. We had a scoop of ice cream for desert. It wasn’t presented that well. It was like icecream in a bowl you would make at home.

Great atmosphere and the restaurant has great potential to grow.
However, the menu (very limited) and quality of food were poor. I had a stomachache after having lunch there (I had mashed avocado on sourdough and feta cheese, cappuccino and a piece of rose pistachio cake. )
Service was disappointing. I had to ask several times to get a bottle of water. I wouldn't recommend elderly people to go as I saw an elderly couple who clearly needed an assistant to hold a door for them and the staff member ignored and passed. Shocking.
I hardly ever write a bad review but as I live in the neighbourhood, I feel that I have to!

I'm 71 so perhaps old-fashioned in my expectations. I was hungry, and when I saw my slender serving of tart of the day, with a small pile of salad next to it, I'll admit I was pretty disappointed. No bread to even bulk it out, as one would automatically get for example in France. On the plus side I have to say the tart was absolutely totally delicious, and my two friends agreed. However, still hungry I had to order a pudding, which I hadn't wanted to. And while this was absolutely delicious too, I really didn't want to be eating a large sweet thing (trying to keep weight down for health reasons), just to leave the table satisfied. To me the prices are a bit high, but then I'm sure your overheads are steep, and as I say I'm getting on and used to simpler times probably. Our main waiter was charming and friendly and attentive, without being over attentive, generally everything he should be. The noise levels, to which I am particularly sensitive, were fine - what a relief, so many places are noisy. All in all I would recommend your restaurant to others, and I will definitely come back. You look as though you are starting to really thrive - I hope so, and that you continue to be successful.

I would recommend it but the salt beef sandwich was disappointing. The two screaming babies spoilt it for us. Their screams were ear piercing but the parents did nothing about it. They could have just taken them out to distract them and I think you owe it to other customers to politely suggest to parents of screaming babies that they should consider other people - and the poor babies. They were probably screaming from boredom.

Very noisy. Staff inattentive and took a while to sit down. Nobody came to take our order for a while even though plenty of staff about so we left. Wouldn’t go back.

Having looked forward to our first visit we were unfortunately disappointed. We were a little surprised by the small menu, but we ordered a starter and main course. Eventually a waiter came to our table with the main course, and seconds after, another waiter with the starter. Co-ordination in the kitchen had obviously failed. We said that as we now had our main course, we didn't need the starter (the main course would otherwise go cold). They were taken away with good grace, but minutes later, one of them was brought back to our table. Again we refused it explaining why. Communication an issue. The food was nice but not exceptional (crab fishcake) but not a particularly large portion). We eventually managed to attract the attention of a waiter and were given the desert menu. Delicious lemon posset. After another session of trying to catch the waiters' eye, we were given the bill. Another wait before we were able to pay. In summary... The building and interior are impressive, however tables were quite close together and it wasn't particularly easy to chat due to the noise level. Diners here need plenty of time and patience, and the waiters serious training. Full marks to the kitchen. As local residents we were hoping to add Soane's Kitchen to our list of regular haunts. They don't seem ready for that quite yet.

This is not the place to go for food. Poor Quality, low end, high prices. We tried to have brunch but honestly the food was inedible and honestly embarrassing. How a chef could put their name to it is beyond me. Salt beef sandwiches are better at M&S, thin slices of packaged deli meat, smothered in a sauce because it's so low end. Shakshuka that is just tinned tomatoes with coriander all through it and no other spices. Honestly it should be shut down.

Really awesome food and amazing service. Amelie served us for most of our visit and we couldn't have felt more looked after, really made our visit enjoyable. Food was amazing and Prosecco, unlimited for 2 hours, and very good quality. Really enjoyed our first time there and will definitely be back maybe for lunch next time :)

I went with a friend on Wednesday and waited a while to be served. When we were seated and finally ordered, the wine I wanted wasn't available, the main I wanted also wasn't available, we weren't told about the days specials and the chap who served us couldn't answer our questions on food or drink as hs said he wasn't usually at front of house..... not a great first visit. Online it also stated the there was a 2 course option for £10 but we were told this wasn't the case when we got to the restaurant. Location and venue was great and what I did eat was nice. Not too noisy either that you couldn't hear yourself speak.

First impressions of Soanes Kitchen were pleasing and our morning coffee was fine.
Our experience was different when we returned for lunch, it was very busy and quite noisy, we were shown to our table but it took some time for our order to be taken.
Some staff members seemed unsure of what they should be doing, by soon after 1pm several items on the menu were no longer available.
There was no goats cheese in the beetroot and goats cheese risotto only goats cheese curd which just tasted like mayonnaise and the superfood salad had no contrasting flavours/ textures lots of grains with Avocado but everything was coated in dressing and rather bland.
We were not charged for the risotto and the person we spoke with said the intention was to change the wording on the menu to clarify the contents of the risotto.
Overall what looked promising was disappointing, we were left with the impression that the team lacked experience and were somewhat overwhelmed.

Great setting, ambience and menu- somewhat marred on my visit by an extremely loud DJ- bit odd for Saturday lunchtime... He turned it down on request and everyone seemed much happier!
it was only week one of this new restaurant so I'm sure they will resolve the terrible service issues- staff glancing at me trying to order then resuming private chats, bringing the bill over then wandering off outside as I got my card out to pay- finally caught someone else's eye about ten minutes later but it's not relaxing chasing after people in this way!
the drinks came very late- we were halfway through our meal! I was about to cancel them but couldn't get served!
Again, sounds minor, but it's hard to relax and focus on your meal when you're trying to catch attention elsewhere.

Drinks and food beautifully presented and cooked, lovely balanced meals.

Expensive average food and DJ playing on a Saturday, but with lots of kids in high chairs the restaurant felt a bit confused.

Nice place to eat when visiting the museum. Pleasant staff. Tables a bit close especially with noisy neighbours!

Service was very very very slow. So many tables had to ask for their order to be taken (us included), or for the bill, it was a joke. Don’t really know what the fuss is about. It’s an average restaurant selling average food. I wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone else.

Been here a few times, always a problem with the kitchen messing up orders. But the atmosphere is good and staff pleasant, albeit that they could be better trained.
