Socca is a modern French bistro that celebrates the distinctive taste of the French Riviera. Tucked away in Mayfair’s South Audley Street, the restaurant pays homage to the coastal towns of Cannes, Marseille and Nice. The beautiful building, which has been serving Mayfair diners since 1901, has been meticulously reimagined and draws inspiration from institutions such as La Colombe d’Or and the whimsical stylings of Villa Santo Sospir – specially designed for evenings absorbed in conviviality, fine wines and Southern French cuisine. first time trip with pals for a 60th birthday - blown away by the whole experience- staff top notch, restaurant was full of normal people having lunch- food was perfect as was the whole afternoon

What a find. This place is amazing. Yes, it's on the pricey side, but worth every penny. The vibe is elegant yet relaxed, the food is absolutely amazing - and not too small portions which is sometimes the case with some of these places. I will definitely be returning again, and again :)

the food was lovely, the decoration beautiful, was sort of put out that we were put at the front of the restaurant when everyone else was at the back but we could speak comfortably and that’s a blessing at our age. We were lucky that the table next door wasn’t taken up until we’d pretty much finished because we did seem to be on top of each other. Had a drinks waiter who seemed to forget everything we said about apéritif’s and wine but the ladies serving were excellent and very friendly. My wife has a stomach upset from the previous night and mistakenly ordered some very rich dishes that she couldn’t enjoy as much as she hoped. My choices were fabulous and being the gentleman I finished hers and thought they were equally good. On the whole s big thumbs up and I look forward to coming again.

Beautiful restaurant and interesting excellent food but some dishes were better value than others, the acoustics were poor and service was not good, staff need more charm and smiles, I had to ask for a drink and a menu and our waitress seemed very inexperienced and tense. After a lot of hype I was slightly disappointed and I’m a huge Claude Bosi fan!

I loved the meal - it was so special and we ate mainly from the left hand side of the menu. The raw bar was exceptional and we thought the staff utterly charming.

I looked forward to eating at Socca with anticipation but came away disappointed. The food was good, some dishes better than others, but more local bistro level and nowhere near the quality I would expect for the prices and location or hype. The best dish was the Socca itself from the hors-d’oeuvre menu. In addition the acoustics where so bad we couldn’t hear our conversation.

In London for a few days and staying at the Connaught. Went to this restaurant which is 5 minutes away from the hotel, based on a good review from the Financial Times. Both beef dishes (Galician Beef Fillet and Provençal Beef Cheeks) were bad. Baba au Rhum was bad as well. The service was terrible. There were a lot of men in suits and a few ladies in dresses, who were wandering around and were doing nothing. Only the two hardworking waitresses, one is from Albania, doing all the work. Also went to Mount Street Restaurant, also recommended by the FT, and our go to place Scott’s, which are all within the block. They are miles better than Socca! Scott’s is the gold standard. Year in & year out.

Excellent food, traditional Provençal but with inventive twists. Sharing starter concept is a good idea. Good wine list and a very good martini. Friendly, attentive service. Will return.

Very bland and mediocre food and no relationship to the price tag. Cocktails with a price tag not matching flavour or the experience. ... Inexperienced staff with little to no knowledge of the food, wines or etiquette. …fish, which wasn’t prepared or cooked properly. Tarte a tins which were utterly bland with supermarket Icecream. Prawns which were overcooked and hard….truly shocking and embarrassed I suggested it in the first place…if you are asked to pay over £500 for lunch for three and don’t event have three courses you expect considerably better.

I very much enjoyed our experience. Service was very polite and good… a few staff slightly green in experience.. however on the whole very good. Your bread basket was badly displayed and bread not as good as your olive oil… which was very good. Thankyou over all a very enjoyable evening. Shareing for two would be better than shareing for four

Lovely restaurant in a nice part of town ! Food was good quality and good presentation but the Mediterranean prawns were disappointing small and would have been more wow with shells on! Our table was 6pm and we felt rushed to be off our table even though they was not full. Clearing plates whilst others were still eating !

First, you're surprised by the heavy kitchen smell when you enter. Everything is served all together (Cocktail and starters at the same time then 5 minutes later the main course). The food tastes good but poor dishes with the tag price (even the fillet came without any side and without knowing it). Absolutely not "the French art de la table". To avoid ...

A bizarre mix of hits and misses. The starters were mediocre at best. Nothing was particularly memorable. The main course was excellent rabbit was delicious, great flavours and tender meat falling off the bone. Steak filet was cooked to perfection. The side dishes, apart from the salad, were a huge miss. Polenta was not pleasant, dauphinoise potatoes was very average. Ended strong with two amazing desserts. Overall it was very inconsistent and I expected better from Claude Bosi

Terrible service and overpriced food! Would suggest training your staff from the coat/reception lady to the waitress. Highly suggest not serving stale focaccia too!

Early Mothers Day lunch. All three courses were exceptional, highlight for me was the Octopus starter & the beef cheeks, but some great classics, especially baba rhum & Menton lemon sorbet. Food doesn’t get better than this. Beautiful restaurant, casual & comfortable.with friendly service.

this is the worst restaurant and worst meal i have had for over 20 years, i eat at restaurants in Mayfair and central London 3 or 4 times a week unless i am in the country and have never experienced such poor service ,rude staff and inedible food ,saved only by the new GM who had been at the restaurant only a day . I shouldn't have to be writing this but i am so incensed by the service my friends and i received- i feel that the experience should be drawn to the attention of opentable a pot of mustard was accidentally thrown all over my hair , dress and embroidered shawl no effort was made to remove it and my anguish dismissed by the unnamed director who briefly made an appearance at the restaurant- whose rudeness and arrogance beggars belief. Accidents do happen , it is how they are handled is the issue The food was tasteless and bore no resemblance to the description on the menu .the tuna inedible smothered in Black pepper, the octopus overcooked and lacking all the ingredients listed on the menu ,cartilage from the lobster in the gnoccheletti.. uncooked green beans etc etc just awful the staff were inexperienced rude , unprofessional in need of training to reflect the calibre of the establishment and unable to accept criticism when they asked how we found the food and to complete the evening the receptionist couldn't find my friends coat in the very small wardrobe and our car was kept waiting 15 minutes until she eventually found it. I wish i have never invited my friends to this restaurant I am so embarrassed having done so .they were so upset for me too , My dress had to be dry cleaned , I had to pay a visit to the hairdressers to remove the goo from my hair and my very expensive shawl ruined I would avoid this restaurant at all costs - substandard sub quality apart from the GM who dealt with the issues professionally and with charm

The restaurant is beautiful and the food excellent. The staff just need to be a bit more refined. Served wine without being able to taste it and bread with no side plates. Waiter wanted to put the bread on top of our food. Otherwise I’m sure these are new restaurant teething problems and wish them all lots of success.
