A fine view but a rather dated feel. The wine list was lengthy but poorly laid out and the index bore little relevance to the page numbers. No house wines and ordinary wines overpriced. I don’t mind a 300% markup - double that is excessive. Food pleasant but presentation a bit dated as well.
Fabulous! Wonderful location. Service was good but a little slow and although the bar snacks were delicious would have liked them all to come at the same time. Would go back but only for a special occasion as it is a little pricey.
A great evening with great food. It does need to be made clear on OpenTable that Social24 is the bar area and not the main restaurant.
That said the food was great and the view amazing even given the cloud and rain.
We enjoyed our visit to the city social. The staff we very accommodating as two of the members of our party were working late and couldn’t join till later. Views are just wonderful and the cocktail list was inventive and tasty.
Was a bit too loud and difficult to have a conversation
Very long wait for drinks even though the bar was not that busy. Only one person serving tables and mangers make no eye contact with customers. G&T presentation was extremely poor for the price - more like an old pub style than today's fashionable cocktail. Tonic was warm so ice melted very quickly. Other cocktails unappealing presentation. 5-star hotel pricing without the extras (nibbles) or sophistication. Bar menu disappointing in content. Very surprised how poor service and quality of drinks were for an Atherton establishment and given the competition in the area.
Wonderful place, fabulous views and the food was excellent. Our drinks sadly took quite some time, arriving after our food, but other than that excellent.
Had an amazing lunch with my friends at City Social. We took advantage of the great lunch deal of 3 courses for £28.
The service was amazing, the french female waitress was full of good laughs and very vibrant which made the experience much more memorable. The pork terrine was my favourite, so delicious.
Will be back for sure.
I arrived on time for my reservation and then waited 19 minutes after being seated without being served. Was not given a menu, offered a drink, or even acknowledged. I left without dining on account of the abysmal service. Will not return.
Drinks were very average, some actually below.
Staff were nice but everything was very slow.
The views and staff are amazing. The coffee and desserts even better! A must go!
Came with my girlfriend on a Saturday night for drinks with a view.
Pretty typical 'city' bar. Views of London are fantastic although quite a few of the windows were really dirty, which sounds really particular/fussy but if you're going here you're goin because the views nice and you expect it to feel more upmarket...which is why the drinks are priced they way they are. It's pricey but as expected.
I'd recommend going on a Saturday because it was pretty much empty, I imagine in the week it'd be pretty busy.
They also don't serve pints which in my opinion is shameful. That's like being a fireman and only putting out fires in apartments and not houses.
Would go back only if I was expensing the bill through my company credit card.
We went for a special birthday occasion on a Saturday evening for pre drinks before dining elsewhere. There was 6 of us therefore had a booth in the middle of the room ... which meant we didn’t get much a view, it was quite noisy and difficult to talk and the drinks were overpriced.
Drinks were lovely. Service was slow at times. With City Social, you really pay for the ambience and views.
A wonderful setting to pass a couple of hours and get a good meal ahead of an evening engagement. Sitting reading a book overlooking the city and enjoying fantastic food made what would have been a tedious wait on my own very relaxing!
Great views, very expensive. Cocky, loud cockney lads spoilt the atmosphere.
After a long, lazy lunch, we wanted a couple of cocktails with a great view. The view was incredible, specially as we had a window table. Ended up having 3 cocktails each... pricey, but you're paying for the view. Lovely though
Lovely as ever, one of my favourite places to meet in the city. Service was very slow though (we were only ordering beers) and the first two rounds were brought out one short - both times, despite our pointing it out. So room for improvement,
Great place. Good drinks. Good service. Fantastic views of the City.
Such an amazing place, got the best view and try “A damson in a stress” you won’t regret it.
I organised a friends get together at this restaurant as I’ve been there a few times.
Beautiful views and lovely atmosphere
i have been there several times, its the perfect place if you want to drink something and have a quiet and relaxing night! Its not expensive , the view is quite unique! i would highly suggest to everyone !
Was there the wknd sat 5/1/18
Was a surprise Bday meal for my gf.
The welcoming was warm .Started in the bar for a cocktail view by the window see London at night. Then taken to the restaurant . Again very warm welcome. The service was second to none. Plenty of staff to take care of the customers. All ran like clockwork meticulous to any need . Very courteous and friendly.
The food was superb. Could not fault anything we had.
Must commend all those that work there. It’s pricey but you pay for what you get. Definitely intend to return. There was a nice surprise for my gf a Beautiful made individual cake in a box brought without any fanfare or happy birthday being sung. As we left the staff and managers came out to wish us goodbye . Superb experience .
Everything was perfect apart from the french fries/chips. Those were not very well cooked. Really nice staff
Always great service and amazing atmosphere not to mention the incredible view. Thanks again.
Good experience at the bar overall. Nice city view including Shard. Sufficient nibbles option with the drink menu.
Great atmosphere, good service and the food was really nice. Had the traditional shepherd pie and that was delicious. We arrived at 2pm and didn't leave until 8:30pm. That was how great it our night was. Ver Cosy .
Was a little concerned given some reviews but overall very happy with our visit. Staff were attentive but not over-bearing, food was good and views fantastic.
A little pricey, but was expected.
Earlier in the evening was quieter so great to be able to speak, when we left after 9, groups had started to arrive so got a lot loader. However, this was getting close to Christmas
When booking it was very unclear we would be sat at the bar and not restaurant area. The hostess said this was what our booking was and all they had available. For the night we had planned sitting directly next to a group of guys who were taking shots and trying to talk to us was not part of the equation. Steak was nothing to write home about. Starters were great. Cocktails were very good as well. Good views. Just be careful the booking matches the expectations.
Amazing setting, good drinks choice and table for two by the window overlooking the city was great. Service was poor, 20 mins to have our drinks order taken and it never really improved on 2nd and 3rd round.
My wife and I wanted to have a fun enjoyable dinner and this place was a nightmare. First of all it was too loud to even talk. Then they seated us next to an office party which had too many people for their area and they kept bumping in to us. And we didn’t like the limited menu. So bottom line is we got up and left. My advice is to only make a reservation on the restaurant side. We didn’t realize the bar side was like a nightclub...not somewhere to have dinner. Never again.
Absolutely fabulous food- great location- wouldn’t hesitate to visit again
Disappointing. The location and connection with fine dining means a lot of people will visit anyway. The loos are cool.with the view, but you can get that in the Shard or doen the road at SS and D+W. We were disappointed by poor and very slow service. A hot meal arrived 15 minutes before our salads and we had to ask twice to get the wine we ordered - we were sitting next to the bar.
It was so loud with speakers placed above the table, but that we can dealmwith its a central London bar. Only one small spotlight so we couldn't see each other, others looked broken. Having to find staff all the time to chase food and be able to order and to be able to pay, not good enough. It is overpriced, but to be expected. Poor service made it hurt more than usual. I wouldn't bother when you have so much choice. I also think all Jason A restaurants have appaulling service, but ever the optimist I keep hoping I'm going to be proved wrong.
We booked and went to City Social the same day, lovely atmosphere and we had great seats by the window. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive and the selection of Gin & Tonic's was lovely.
I love this place. The views are to die for, The steak is the best I've ever had. Will be going again soon!
Stunning views venue and service have to hold up to justify the price and food .
We both had an amazing time and the service was impeccable, so accommodating and the food was amazing. Great night and thanks to Lucas for looking after us.
Spent an enjoyable couple of hours in this superb city venue last Saturday night. The quadrant shaped bar has the most amazing views over the city of London (even from the toilets!) Music is just the right mix of laid back and funky and is also at the perfect volume (not too loud to talk to your friends) Food in the bar is limited but superb. You wouldn't believe shepherds pie could be so good! Pricey? Yes very, but you're paying for the whole package and that package is very good. Cocktails are great by the way, but at £12-£15 a time make sure you've brought your cards with you! Only complaint, at the back of the circular booth you can't read the menu. Good job phones have a torch facility!
Amazing place with stunning views!! Great service with a smile. Will be back real soon
The entrance of this bar is certainly not what you would expect of a restaurant of this standard, it looks a little run down. When we left there wasn’t even a host down there. When we entered in to the restaurant, the waiting staff were a little abrupt nonetheless, they still took our coats and then took us over to our table.
Our table was right next to the window and the views were spectacular. It was absolutely beautiful. However, once sat down, I had to move my chair next to my friends as I couldn’t hear her as the speaker above us was so loud. I asked the waiter if he would mind turning down the speaker which apparently he did but to be honest I still couldn’t hear my friend but felt too embarrassed to ask again.
The cocktails were lovely but for £16 each (with a 12.5% service charge added on automatically), you would expect them to be.
Since we couldn’t hear each other we only stayed for the one drink, which was a shame as the views were just so beautiful! Please bear in mind, I am only 25 and for me to say the music was loud, it’s a big thing!
