    We had the set menu for lunch and were blown away at the quality of our food. We had the Shepherd’s Pie as a main and can honestly say it’s the best we’ve ever eaten - absolutely delicious. Both courses were beautifully presented and extremely tasty. Have no hesitation in recommending.

    We were shown to a table downstairs where there was plenty of room between us. The noise level was low and was commented on by one guest. Lovely old building; lots of character. We all enjoyed the food.

    If you are looking for a small intimate restaurant experience than look no further. A excellent menu choice, great wine and drinks selection and an overall excellent ambience thus is the place. We chose a mixed al carte starter with the set menu and the food did not disappoint. Service was good and we did not feel rushed. There is seating upstairs' at the restaurant so anyone with mobility needs will need to request to sit on the ground floor. Toilets were beautifully clean also. All in all a wonderful dining experience

    Linguine sea food not to my taste. Did not like it at all. My wife had lamb, totally different, lovely. When we booked we were asked what occasion, it was our 53 year anniversary but this was not referred to at all, so why ask!

    Good was amazing, really lovely. Table next to us were really quite loud and because of the space upstairs that impacted ‘noise level’. Having to listen to phone calls the table we’re having etc. this is no fault of Softleys, just how people conduct themselves now when out. Waitress seemed a little nervous and missed a couple of obvious things. But 100% would recommend and return again. Menu is fantastic and the food was so flavoursome and well priced.

    Always a lovely meal at Softleys. Excellent service and value for money. Food is always so fresh and tasty and the atmosphere in the restaurant is great too. I would always book Softleys if I wanted to go for a nice meal, that’s affordable with excellent service.

    The staff were friendly and efficient - we weren’t hurried but neither were we kept waiting. The meal was was well presented and appetising.
