Great restaurant serving interesting food at reasonable prices. Needs more people to know about it.
the food was very everage, most of the starters are fried and tasteless. the staff tried to be friendly, but wasn't. poor ambiance.
Nice food full of flavour
Great food great service and great surroundings. Opposite Liberty London and a two minute walk from Oxford Circus station. Make sure you try the Pau Bhaji!
Very disappointed. Food was not flavorsome at all. My friend ordered lamb that was uncooked, pretty much raw (very pink). We did not enjoy any of it.
Hidden gem ! Great indian food !
Cold, stale and tasteless food
Dear Sender, Many thanks for sharing your feedback. Could you kindly explain bit more in detail what went wrong with your food, your feedback with assist us to improve our service. Regards, Arvind Kumar
Overall a good find. Our server Ravi Kumar was really helpful and attentive. Portion size could be bigger for mains and toilets are quite far away in the hotel. Enjoyed the food-tried paneer, black daal, lamb kebab, chicken matchstick, puris etc . Was relatively quiet midweek.
Excellent food grab service definitely recommend. Wasn’t busy although we were eating early evening but was pleasantly surprised at how good the restaurant was. The dishes were varied compared to the usual Indian fare.
We ordered vegetarian food for my mum’s birthday as she strictly does not eat meat and they brought out a lamb wrap instead which she bit into and was very upset.
Furthermore, all the fried dishes tasted of old oil. It was horrible.
Had potential and great presentation but they need new chefs and new staff. So disappointing!!!
I liked the ambience. It was bright, spacious and quiet. The food was excellent!
Amazing food a lot of taste and care which was creatively presented. Beautiful decor and good service
Superb food, portions are small but tasty!
Good customer service and friendly staff
Brilliant service. We went for dinner while fasting during Ramadan, and the waiter (Ravi Kumar) made sure our food was ordered and served just on time. Brilliant service throughout the evening.
We were served by Ravi Kumar who was an excellent host. The food was proper authentic Indian food. The chef knew his spices and he balanced every meal we tasted exceptionally well. This becomes a favourite haunt for us and one we will recommend to our friends.
The restaurant was practically empty on a Sunday evening, so we had to go looking for someone to take our order, give us water etc. The food was average, nothing spectacular. Especially compared to the other options available in the area.
Food was great, servcie let down the overall experience. Busy lunchtime, only two staff members available.
Unprofessional. Poor choice of food. Not much atmosphere.
The food wasn’t great, just mediocre. The portion sizes were appallingly tiny considering the prices. The only satisfying thing in our meal was dahi puri.
Awful service, had to go up to ask to be seated because the waitress ignored us. Had to ask to get our order taken because again they were too busy chatting at the bar. Didn’t clear the tables when they should have, generally rude when questioned. Wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Portion sizes are too small for the price, better off going somewhere else.
Sloppy service but great Indian food
Amaaaazing food...such warm and friendly people! Very good with special requests and the service is soooo good.
Kurkure bhaji and papadi chaat was awesome! Could do little better with masala chai as it was not that strong enough for me as a core desi Indian Chai lover but the staff are soo kind and plesant so I will definately be going more and more there!
We had to wait ages at the door for someone to greet us. Then they didn’t have our booking.
Finally we were seated. We explained we wanted the Indian afternoon tea, told them we are vegetarians and asked what the substitute would be. The waitress did not understand and kept telling me we couldn’t order from both menus. I didn’t want to!
We waited nearly an hour for something to eat. Finally got a cup of tea but no spoon or sugar.
The food was crazy spicy. Very average and overpriced for what is was. One platter for two for £50
A very disappointing mother’s day out.
Never going back
Lovely attentive service, exquisite food and great atmosphere.
We were 6, ordered 4 starters and 3 mains between us, which was plenty, to leave room for dessert.
the pani puris were some of the best I have ever tasted, and the Dhungar Baigen Bartha was absolutely delicious!
We will certainly come back, and bring some visitors there!
A very delightful restaurant! authentic Indian street food in the heart of Soho... great value totally worth it will definitely go many more times.
We had made a reservation for my friends birthday dinner. The Indian gentleman was lovely and friendly but the hotel staff helping out were not and cleaning up around us and not being at all attentive. Wish they had declined our booking rather than subject us to the experience
Service was good but food was average. The desserts were really nice, would go back for the dessert!
I had booked an early dinner at 6:15 and when I walked in, I couldn't find any staff to seat me for a while. This theme continued for the duration of the meal. The service was pretty bad and frankly non existent. It felt like there wasn't any staff and I had to chase staff to get any attention. Additionally the waiter got the order wrong after confirming it,. Perhaps the restaurant was having an off day and as the food was fine I may give it another try.
I would recommend the food as it taste good and the flavours are just right however, the portion size is very small increase portion size. Also, make sure the staff know what the dishes are as when I asked a staff what the dish was they didn’t know and had to go ask the chef.
Terrific food, especially the Kali Dal with Choor Choor Naan. We shared that, and also a puffed rice appetizer and a smoky eggplant dish. Everything was superb. My only complaint is the electropop music which didn't add anything. Why not something Indian, like Bollywood?
A really different menu - interesting options and all very tasty
I would recommend it to people for it's location and the fact that this place is a really nice change from regular Indian restaurants popping up everywhere. The decor is interesting and you get view of Carnaby street, even better if you are staying in the Courthouse Hotel.
The food was nice and the menu is a little different too. The pani puri comes on its own little cart which is really worth it if you live for the gram. If i could recommend something from the menu it would be the Okra and Lotus fries...
Won’t last long. Food not up to the mark and with all the competition...up your game guys!
It was good laid back, street food dining, stress free experience.
Food was great, although ambience wasn't we were the only people in the restaurant
Limited atmosphere , but the food was great! Perhaps we were just a bit early to dine .
Our food was not in good taste and we were served very late-it was a waste of 50 pounds
Great food, decided to share 3 small plates and 1 main. Was the perfect amount of food for 2, presentation of the food was notable.
Overall we really enjoyed dining at Soho Wala and would totally recommend it.
The restaurant was very quiet for a Friday evening, maybe because it’s new.
The service was very impressive and we felt very well looks after.
Food is tasty, portions slightly small and quite spicy.
Really fab menu, had the pani puri papdli chaat to start then laal maas, bengun bharta abd chicken Chettinad with tandoori roti.
Very authentic menu and was just like a home cooked meal.
We were the only ones in there though so no atmosphere whatsoever which was a great shame.
