This was our first time of dining at SOLA and we couldn't fault anything about the whole evening. We chose the Tasting Menu and as one of us didn't eat meat they very comfortably accommodated our request. Every dish was superbly created (we especially loved the Lobster and Turbot dishes) and the service was amazing, all staff were friendly and although this restaurant is high class it wasn't pretentious and we felt at ease from the moment we walked in.
We ended up chatting the the GM and I asked how Covid was affecting them and like most restaurants they have been hit hard and its such a shame so please do visit these guys as they deserve your custom and they really value you.
We have been fortunate enough to eat at some of the best restaurants in the world and these guys are as good as so its a real hidden gem in Soho and we loved every minute of it, We will absolutely be back !!!
Food was excellent but tiny portions... and service ok
Bright, creative without frippery, just outstanding cooking and service
Lovely night out - excellent food and friendly service
Amazing on all fronts!
AmazIng experience. The food was incredible. It was a great find on Open Table
Nice people. Ambitious food mostly delicious but a few odd combinations .. but that’s part of the fun of creative tasting menus. Good choice if you want to splash out. Interesting California wines
Staff fantastic food sublime wine pairing stunning.
Amazing food, excellent service. The staff were warm and accommodating.
Such a lovely restaurant! The food is extremely delicious, as well as it is very beautiful! Cosy environment, friendly people, top place to visit!
Terrific food and a delightful room offering outstanding service and a window to Californian cuisine and culture.
Was a little quiet (due to Covid fears) but the service and food were great. Highly recommend it.
Had high expectations following the FT review. Some interesting dishes but too much foie gras and desserts were heavy and a bit sickly. Excellent service and fun entrees. Lobster very tasty.
The food was excellent. Worth a star. We had the smaller set meal and couldn't fault any course. We sat indoors with very well spaced tables. Service was friendly, but less attentive than expected. The white wine we wanted was not chilled and we had to change to another. Waiter offered to put it in to chill at the time!!
Great tasting menu with interesting wine pairings from CA. Very good staff - friendly and professional. We had a great time
Great food in a great location - the outside area in this weather was absolutely perfect. Service was exceptional, as was food - foie gras did feature a few times on the tasting menu, so make sure you’re a fan. Wines were good too, although a little overpriced.
Lovely fresh menu
Very attentive staff;
Good wine selection,
Would highly recommend
Sat outside and watched the world go by, lovely evening
The food was amazingly presented and tasted even better. We really enjoyed the wine pairing and the service was exceptional! Would highly recommend!!
One of the most exciting & flavoursome meals I've had in London in a long time. Can't wait to be back.
We loved our experience at SoLa. It was our first night out post quarantine so we wanted to pick a spot to splurge a little. SoLa wasn’t cheap by any means, but I found the value here incredible for the amount of food and wine we were served. £55PP for a 5 course menu that included a four piece amuse-bouche to start which was described as a “trip down the California coastline.” From there, the “Californian” cuisine offered lots of fresh seafood and summer flavors. We enjoyed the gazpacho, langoustine, and sea bass, all presented to perfection with interesting ingredients. We opted to add the wine tasting for an additional £49PP and it was well worth it. The wines were mostly Californian and paired incredibly well for each individual course they accompanied. Service was excellent without being stuffy. Special touches that made the meal even better like complimentary sparkling wine and a chocolate tasting after being served dessert were very welcome. There were only 3 tables dining as it was the post covid world, but really hope this place pulls through. We really enjoyed it and will be back.
Very good food and original, very nice service too
Fantastic food and service. A little gem in the heart of Soho.
Sola serves the most amazing menu and the service is second to none.
Fantastic cooking. Superb presentation. Great winelist with some US rarities at very fair prices.
We had an absolutely perfect meal at Sola. From the warm welcome to the pitch-perfect food we would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Another delicious experience. Every plate is a discovery for the senses. Great atmosphere in this intimate setting.
I had my birthday dinner at Sola last Tuesday. It was really good food but they totally forgot that our booking was birthday celebration. Perhaps it's not suitable for special occations. The service was just casual.
This was a wonderful experience of exquisite food teamed up with exceptional wine. I'm booking again!
Excellent new restaurant on the site of the much missed Rambla restaurant. Still owned and run by the same team, So-La specialises in high end Californian cuisine, with great food, excellent wine and charming service. Next time I have to try the tasting menu!
Fantastic service (although our dishes did seem to come out quite quickly) and delicious food but there’s just something missing. I feel like this place doesn’t quite know what it wants to be; it’s quite romantic in one sense but there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of ambience, and some of the diners’ coats were being hung over chairs at the back of the restaurant rather than hung up which was a bit shabby. The wine was gorgeous though!
Delightful food, friendly service, we had a great experience.
Great ingredients that were very well cooked and presented. Interesting and good value wine list. Very good service.
The food was truly outstanding, but the ambience and service were somewhat lacking
Loved it! Random crazy food combinations... Reminded me of my San Francisco days and the great restaurants there. delicious food. Great wine. Restaurant wasn’t very busy but it should be.
It was our first time at the restaurant and we will definitely come back. The atmosphere was great - it’s a quiet place difficult to find these days in soho! If you’re in for great food in chilled ambiance, then book it and enjoy the great wonders of Sola :)
We went to this place during its soft launch, some of the dishes had nice presentation and good taste. However, the deeper fried oysters and clams dished were disappointing us as the oysters were too small and not a good ingredients for deep fried clams were a bit salty & served with deep fried cheese brioche were not matched. The lobster pot better to has some lobster meats inside the pot rather that sauce and veggies. The restaurant had slightly different menu than the other usual restaurants in London. Hopefully they can improve the taste of those dishes in future.
