What a gem hidden in Soho. Sola is a must, beautiful food, service, and gorgeous restaurant. The food was beautifully done, well thought through menu, such light delicate touches, made for moreish dishes you could eat again and again. Will be back for more, especially to try the theatre menu, which is a bargain.

The team at Sola made a special effort to give my wife - who has seafood allergies - both a great birthday meal and a great experience. Many restaurants don't succeed - Sola did Great innovative dishes, and great quantities (we definitely did not leave hungry like in some starred places) With the Classic menu, 2 aperitifs, 5 glasses of wine and service, the bill was over £500 - so definitely one for a special treat - but worth it

The pre-theatre set menu is really good value for food of this quality, and the wine paring was equally keenly priced, so a lovely dinner for not too much! The room is very comfortable with very well-spaced tables. And the service was lovely!

Super delicious and fun and friendly and classy. One of the best restaurants/meals I’ve ever had. Wine pairing was an extra treat, the sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and gracious. This was a worthwhile splurge.

I visited Sola on Dean Street today for a late lunch. Given the restaurant’s Michelin star and reputation, I had high hopes for an exceptional dining experience. However, the visit was marked by a series of disappointments. The restaurant's innovative food offerings did show creativity, but several aspects of the experience fell short. The air conditioning was set to an uncomfortable chill, making the environment feel cold and unwelcoming. Adding to the discomfort, the ambiance was significantly affected by a YouTuber and his production team, who were recording a video about Sola’s Michelin star achievements. The crew included a camera operator, a director, and several assistants, all of whom created a distracting presence. The YouTuber (Jesse comething), having decided to go "off-script," required multiple takes, which further disrupted the dining atmosphere. Service also left much to be desired. The waitstaff's attire was in need of dry cleaning, which was an unexpected oversight in a Michelin-starred restaurant. This small detail, however, had a noticeable impact on the overall experience. The wine pairings were intriguing but fell short in terms of quality. They lacked the refinement one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Additionally, there was an issue with the billing: the initial bill presented was double the actual amount due, mainly due to confusion over the wine pairings and quantities. Although the error was eventually corrected, it was an unwelcome complication. In summary, while Sola's inventive menu and Michelin star are noteworthy, the overall dining experience was marred by environmental discomfort, service issues, and an unpleasantly disrupted ambiance. Improvements in these areas could significantly enhance the experience for future guests.

I firstly need to start this review by saying how much I love the ethos, style and creativity this restaurant has, so much so I made a 570 mile round trip to eat here! When Chef Victor himself phoned on the morning of my reservation I was excited for dinner. Unfortunately I left feeling underwhelmed and a bit disappointed. Upon arrival to Sola I was shown to my seat which was down in the cellar private dining room. This room was in no way as glamorous as the restaurant, and the bar area was crowded with cardboard boxes and wires, quite uninviting. It would have been nice to have been informed at the time of booking (or even when confirming my booking) that my table had been moved to a different room. Still trying to remain optimistic I was excited for the food. The canapes were good as was the O-Toro and Langoustine dishes. The duck I felt was probably the weakest dish on the menu. The cooking of the duck itself was nice but it was quite tough in texture and underseasoned. The red cabbage didn't bring anything to the dish, again I felt it was underseasoned. The black garlic and sansho was an excellent pairing though (even if sansho was on 2 of the previous dishes). The key lime and sudachi pie was good and the highlight of the meal was the chocolate and caviar dessert - very good. The mignardise were a bit of a let down after such a nice dessert, the peanut mousse was a nightmare to pick up. The service felt very rushed. There was a strong vibe that all of the staff just wanted to finish and go home. I was on wine pairing and glasses were being put down on the table for 2 courses ahead of the food. Then the kicker: a non discretionary, non advertised service charge of 15% was added to my bill. Let me be clear I don't have a problem with tipping, I have a problem with a restaurant thinking its their god given right to a tip when quite frankly the food and service didn't warrant a 15% non removable charge. Sadly, I feel my experience was poor value.

Was blown away by all aspects of my experience. Highly recommend if you want amazingly creative dishes that are mind-blowingly delicious, beautifully presented, and with top-notch service! I did the theater package (what an incredible deal). I showed up late, but they were so on top of things that I even had time to enjoy coffee at the end of my meal and even left five minutes early! I have already been raving about this place to all of my friends!

We booked for the pre theatre menu. The food was absolutely wonderful. The taste, quality and presentation is outstanding. One of our party has a specific allergy and the Chef came out to talk through options. The ambience is calm and elegant, a welcome escape from the outside hustle and bustle. The staff were friendly and attentive. The only downside was the lack of transparency from the sommelier in the per glass cost of the ‘house’ champagne. A note for us next time to make sure we check! Overall though we’d recommend a visit.

We had the pre-theatre menu. I would advise getting the duck rather than the Guinnea fowl as I found the latter rather dry. Appetisers and desserts were very good. Absolutely faultless service and great ambiance. We will return.
