The food was terrific, service was great! And for outdoor seating it was pretty quiet!
I haven't been to Solea for many years and I was excited to go back. We had out side seating which was nice except there were a lot of flies! Yuck! They were landing on our food and it was gross. The food was VERY disappointing. The Paella was expensive and was rice a roni with seafood on top. Sorry but that is what it was. Not authentic tasting. No crispy rice... simply boxed rice with seafood for $40. Drinks were expensive and small in tiny plastic cups. Service was fair. I do not think I will return.
Al fresco dining is always a good idea! It was fun to watch the passing parade (all of whom were masked.
We had a wonderful time. We have been to Solea many times in the past on many occasions. We enjoyed being able to sit outside on the street, due to Covid-19. It made for a nice experience, authentic to Europe. We ordered 8 Tapas to share.
The solea slider was delish
Outstanding service and food. All seating was outdoors due to the pandemic, and it was pleasant. We ordered the Plato Mixto, Bunuelos, Solomillo, and the Oceano Paella. It was all delicious, as was the sangria. Great spot.
Great food and I loved their outdoor seating set up
Not a fan of outside seating, but they made it an enjoyable and safe experience. Food was incredible!!!
The outdoor seating was quite inviting, service was good and the food was up to the usual standard. Bring back the pork with blue cheese!!!!
The service was great and food was delicious! Will be back soon.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Our server was absolutely horrible. She had maybe 3 tables and only focused her attention on one table that sat down 15 mins after we were sat. She took forever to take our drink order and we sat there for 50mins waiting to have our order taken when she repeatedly walked past our table multiple times to assist the table behind us not once checking on our table to take our order. The table behind us and the other tables next to us that were sat after us were all eating while we were still waiting and trying to get her attention to take our order. We finally decided around 7:30 to just pay for our drinks and go someplace else. We had been siting there since 6:25pm. I had been to this restaurant once previously and had a good overall experience so I thought why not try it for my anniversary but I will never go back now.
The wine pours weren’t even 4oz. They served wine in plastic cups and charged $12 per less than 4oz pours. Food was just so-so. I don’t think I will go there again. Lots of other options available.
Got no service .. no one even hardly paid attention to us. Food was not as good as I expected. I used to go to the sister restaurants of Dali and taped and they were much better. Not sure if this the new post surge normal but we will not return.
Loved the outdoor dining. The drinks & food were absolutely amazing. Our server was very helpful in picking out tapas. Looking forward to going back very soon.
I emailed the restaurant directly also. The host was not the most helpful and we had reservations. We had a not great table and had to ask for our server and menus.
When we got the food one of the dishes had to be returned. The other three 2 were good and one was meh. The one remade correctly was okay. We felt very rushed along the meal.
Just not how we’ve had it in the past. And the Sangria while good is way overpriced! I know we get refills out of it but was so expensive!
Great job adapting to outdoor dining! Would come again!
Celebrating. First meal our in 3.5 mos. of Covid-19. Outside dining only.
We had a lovely lunch outside. We are vegetarians and had lots of yummy choices. The service was great!
Wonderful variety of tasty tapas dishes. Novel house Sangria. Service was friendly and skills. Outdoor seating on Moody St in Waltham helpful towards feeling safe during the pandemic, with good sun protection from a tent-like covering overhead, not just a small umbrella. Pricey - those small dishes add up in a hurry - but well worth it and highly recommended.
Lovely to sit outdoor for a Father’s Day lunch! Food and service are as good as ever!
Drinks come in small 8oz plastic cups, not exactly the vibe I'm looking for when I order a $12 margarita or mohito. The food was amazing, so nice to taste flavors like that after months of eating at home.
Amazing food, great service given the circumstances with Covid. We'll be back!
COVID outdoor dining Servers wore masks. Social distancing observed. Bathroom open but need to wear mask indoors. Food was amazing.
As usual... food was delicious! Loved the outdoor seating! Thank you!
Paella was amazing
So happy to see Solea Tapas back! The outdoor dining is setup great, the service was great, and everything was wonderful.
Solea provided wonderful service, appropriately spaced tables, disposable menus, cups, etc. It was so nice to sit outside and eat delicious food!
Simply one of the worst dining experience. Period.
· Took more than 20mins for the waiter to notice us and get water on the table.
· Another 20mins or so for him to take our order; and when he couldn't figure out what I was talking about, he started rambling gibberish in a condescending tone. Honestly if you don't know what a “mocktail” is, maybe it's time you consider a different line of work.
· We tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe they're shorthanded or that our entrees just take longer. But after every other table that came in after us got served food(same as what we ordered) before us, we know this wasn't justifiable. We were the only asians there. Go figure.
· The food finally arrived after what seemed to be like forever (over an hour at least). Food itself was okay; the sauce was on point, but definitely not worth the wait. And when I pointed out that they charged us for the bread basket that never came, the waiter had the nerve to insist the other way. He went on to blatantly snatch the bill out of my hand and stormed off. Just. Wow.
· Also, note that this was outdoor seating in mid June during lunch time with such pathetic speed of service. My partner, who was patient enough to sit through the whole thing with me, got sunburned. He then kindly made the suggestion to the manager that they could consider installing some tents (like every other restaurant on the block). The manager rolled his eyes.
I've always wanted to try Solea since they seem to offer an interesting tapas menu, but after today I doubt we'll ever come back. There are numerous decent and legit Spanish/Latin American restaurants in town that bring good ambience, food and service together; sadly Solea isn't one of them.
Waiter was decent rest of staff seemed unhappy. Killed mood. Frozen food btw
Wonderful first night open for outdoor dining. Service was great, owners helping out. Food spot on with flavor and considering the craziness it was always hot. Don’t pass up the white sangria!
The outdoor seating was great. Food was amazing as always
Great place... have been there many times... all was well this time except a couple of the hot tapas came out lukewarm when they should have been HOT.
Love this place. great atmosphere, friendly staff, interesting bar with no TV, and great tapas, paella and sangria.
Great night at Solea with my friend. We ordered several dishes to share. Arugula salad, spicy garlic shrimp with fresh bread and hummus, beef short rib, lemon pesto pasta and vanilla flan for dessert. The food was excellent, great seasoning and perfectly cooked. Our server Michael was a pleasure, attentive, no rushing, made good recommendations, Love Solea! 5 Stars! We’ll be back soon.
Good food and decent prices. Reasonable tapas selection. Wife and I will definitely return for half-price paella on a future Monday. Only complaint is that the service was not attentive and somewhat slow, and we showed up before the rush.
Solea is a Waltham favorite that I've enjoyed going to since I lived there many years ago. I have since left Waltham, but enjoy meeting friends there for dinner, and Solea is always a hit. It's a fun interior, and the food is always consistent. The service is friendly and efficient. It's always a favorite that I will return to again and again.
Always a family favorite. Food consistently good, but service is a bit inconsistent. After receiving our first batch of orders very quickly, the second batch took so long - I inquired twice about it, on the second inquiry, I asked to cancel it. The food subsequently showed up at our table 5 minutes later. We'll continue to come back but this particular experience was a bit frustrating.
Food well prepared but not particularly authentic or even tasty. Wine by the glass decent but overpriced.
All of the tapas were pretty disappointing, probably one of the worst dinners I’ve had out to eat since moving to Boston. Not that it was totally awful but there was just nothing special to it, the sauces and seasonings and textures were all just bland and subpar, absolutely no reason I would pick this place over anything else - even bar food. Must add that I am the least picky eater and hardly even leave reviews but... almost seems like they didn’t even try to create unique or tasty dishes. Service was okay but rather slow.
Solea was fine. The food was good, the service was decent, but I didn't feel like it as anything to write home about.
