som saa Ratings and Reviews
A two week family trip took us to London and Amsterdam. This was hands-down our best meal; resetting what we thought was possible from Thai cuisine. I've been to Thailand and have always been a bit disappointed at the Thai food available elsewhere. Som Saa's menu is a deft balance of straying from the usual suspects but being emphatically, authentically Thai. The space is urban hip and appropriate for anything from a date to a family dinner with the important proviso that when they say hot and spicy, they mean it. Service was friendly and polished. Given the quality, the price was entirely reasonable.
The food was chockful of flavor, and with plenty of that beloved Thai-style spice (tangy, salty, spicy!) Each dish brought something to the palate (had the seabass, som tam, chicken larb croquets, and a vegetarian curry). Really lovely to eat sticky rice with the food too; just like one should with Isaan flavors. LOVED it.
Love this place for their friendly staff, great vibes and amazing food & drinks. Such a good spot for group dinners with friends or date night. All time faves include the whole sea bass, the chicken (gai yaang), aubergine salad and the grilled banana & salted caramel ice cream dessert. (Everything is good, really) Bit on the pricey side, as the portions aren’t very large.
The best Thai restaurant since the former Michelin star Thai restaurant Nahm was closed back in 2012.
The flavours of each dishes kept all the essentials of authenticity and fesheness.
Som saa is arguably the best Thai restaurant in London.
I can’t wait to go back.
Absolutely wonderful food, Fresh, Authentic, creative. The flavour combinations offered here at Som Saa are the best I've ever tasted. The lively and friendly ambience is met by the high standard of service. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. You must try it :-)
We are a group of 4 and we had the non spicy version of the set menu (the other version is a spicy one). We enjoyed every single dishes, the beef cheek and sea bass were the highlights. Also highly recommend their banana with ice cream for desert. Would definitely go there again~
Booked for four and was able to enjoy the tasting menu - so much flavour and variety. Two choices of tasting menu, one 'not spicy' and one 'spicy' - we had the 'not spicy' on recommendation of the waitress and there was still plenty of spice!!
Was a great price, at £20 pp, and we really got to try everything we wanted.
I originally booked a table for 4 but they managed to find me a table for 5 at short notice. Service was good throughout. The food lived up to all the hype. Lots of standout dishes so I recommend ordering lots and sharing with friends. The most surprising part was the bill. My party had two cocktails each, a great selection of mains and desserts and the bill was less than £45 each. Great value for money.
Went there for the first time, for a weekend lunch. It was a birthday meal. The staff were very nice and helpful with the menu. Nice décor and good cocktails. Limited food choice for vegetarians, but what they have was good. Some of the food is extremely spicy which the staff well informed of us before ordering.Very nice restaurant !
