Greeting was good, table was ready on time but we waited over an hour for all of our food and annoyingly one persons food came a good 15 minutes before everybody else’s.

Exceptional, authentic food. This was by far and away the most delicious Thai food I’ve ever had outside of Thailand!

Lovely vibe and good food! Some delicious dishes although one not marked
as hot was inedible for my husband...I eat loads of hot food and this was a challenge for me. Maybe just a warning would be helpful on the
Mowlam menu. Had a bit of a wait at the door even though a waitress noticed us she continued laying tables
even though that restaurant area wasn’t busy.

Visited on a Sunday for 'Molem Sunday' and was disappointed to find a range of dishes were unavailable / had sold out, even the cocktail 'special' was unavailable. This at 7pm.
The waiter seemed a little arrogant in telling us many dishes were unavailable.

Does not live up to the hype. Food was good, but not extraordinarily so. Service was ok, but waitress seemed to not know a lot about the menu and had to keep asking the kitchen every time we had a question. It was a Molam Sundays special menu, but surely you should train your staff to know the special menus as well as any other?

It’s a really lovely restaurant!
Definitely need to order the grilled whole seabass.
I have been this restaurant few time, always will order this seabass with rice. It deep fried, you will not feel oily but the skin is crispy! With the Thai style sauce. Really nice have this in summer time!

Loved it here, limited menu which I liked as it meant it didn't take us forever to choose. Best prawns ever tasted, the deep fried sea bass is a must. Not overly keen on the lamb dish but guess that's personal preference. Will be going back.

I had read a newspaper review about this restaurant which prompted me to try it. Our party was not disappointed. We decided to go for the tasting menu which included some sublime dishes with authentic flavours we’ve never experienced outside of SE Asia. The most revealing qualities of a restaurant are sometimes the dishes that appear simple but are easy to get wrong - for example a Som Tam (spicy green papaya salad), which is widely available in many restaurants but sadly in my experience most get wrong and you invariable end up with a soggy, not very spicy, far too sweet mess. Not so in Som Saa, the balance of flavours, sweet, sour and spice were spot on. And this balance was maintained with all the other amazing dishes. Not all of them were Thai, we had a Burmese pork belly curry that was superb and authentically oily as it is in Burma. This is the real thing, no skimping on spices or substitute ingredients to appeal to western palates. We hardly spoke to each other, our mouths were otherwise engaged in a full assault on the taste buds. Wonderful.

Don't know what all the fuss was about. I was told off on arrival and very rudely spoken to as the hostess was angry at not being able to reach me by phone all day despite my booking being confirmed by email. This was a terrible start to my meal as I felt like I was verbally attacked. The food was average, menu was limited and portions were very small.

The food was amazing, the staff were great too. I am quite picky with my flavours, and Som Saa did not disappoint - flavour galore. :-)
I am new to eating fish, and never order fish at restaurants in the past as it lacks flavour and would normally be too dry. The Seabass was very yummy. *thumbs up!*

Went for lunch and as I expected, I was not disappointed with the Thai-style delights from Som Saa. I highly recommend the som tam Thai (v), its spicey but fabulously ignites those taste buds. I would also recommend the sweetbreads and the pork belly! I could not get enough of the tantalizing flavours, delectable food combinations and the easy drinking wine. Great atmosphere and friendly staff! It's a must if you love eating quality-tasting food!

We had a sudden wish for Thai food and lighted upon Som Saa. Easy for us to get to and reviews were good. The food was very good but it is not inexpensive and we would advise ordering rice per person rather than sharing one portion as we did. Service cannot be faulted and all staff really lovely. Well worth a visit.

I love Som Saa. The food is ace. The space is great. The cocktails are great. The people who work there are friendly and fun. Go at lunch when you can book or do a larger party in the evening when you can book so that you don't have to wait. Don't go alone so that you can try as many things from the menu as possible. Wear a shirt that masks stains just in case. You don't want to have to be prim and proper and careful while you're enjoying the food!!
