The new look Sonoma Bar & Grill is located on the ground floor of Hilton Belfast in the heart of Belfast. First visit, food was reasonable as it was well presented but cold plates meant it went cold very quickly. Staff were pleasant but their choice not to write down orders meant several errors which was really disappointing. Reasonable value and very pleasant setting close to the Waterfront hall. Unlikely to go again

We had 2 nights in the Hilton and ate in the Sonoma restaurant. It was fantastic for the food and the excellent staff. Well done.

Grill is like sitting in large dining hall, no ambience at all. When served main course waitress did not ask if we needed anything else and left table so quickly I could not ask for vinegar. i had to wait some time to ask for vinegar as there was no one on floor. Burger was nothing special but the desert was a crumble which was delicious. Would not be in a hurry back

Met at entrance by a friendly and professional staff,table seating was adequate however the Restaurant was cold and lacked atmosphere.the food was superb with good portions. Service after the initial arrival was hit & Miss with no set waiter per table. Overall I’d say it’s very expensive for the experience.

The food was very tasty but I have to say that they gave me pepper sauce with my steak instead of the red wine jus I asked for. Saying that it was very good. The severs were pleasant and unobtrusive too.

Sea Bass Fish dish was very fishy and lacked promised lemon and caper butter, it’s was just oily - no excuse for not having fish with a crispy skin 😡 Asked for fries instead of potato crush - wrong fries arrived, did rectify with portion half the size of original bowl that arrived at the end of eating everything else 🙁 Beef dish - ‘looked like airplane food, doesn’t taste much better’. Obviously only fit for an overpriced burger and chips 😔 Had to wait for a long time for food despite few other tables and specifically telling restaurant that we needed our food promptly to attend gig in Waterfront. I despair- a top hotel in belfast is getting away with this :-( Shame on them. There is so much good food and fab restaurants in Belfast, I only hope your guests venture out. Your location is great and you could be fully booked especially when you are so close to the Waterfront. Nice enough staff, completely let down by your food and it’s not exactly a complex menu 😔 Please put forward better for Belfast’s sake

No ambiance, full bright lighting, some staff lacked training, food was actually quite good, but the lack of any flexibility with the menu was extremely annoying. Eg can I have ordinary ice cream to accompany my apple crumble instead of soya ice cream? No sorry, the chef won’t allow any deviation from the menu! And could I have a small side salad instead of chips with my burger? Same answer!!! Not good. We felt we weren’t asking for much.

From the moment we checked in at the restaurant we knew it was going to be an extra special experience. Staff were so attentive but not over the top, friendly and chatty. Dinner was absolutely gorgeous. Compliments to the Chef. The restaurant was a beautiful experience, comfortable, wonderfully decorated to perfection. I just wanted to stay a few nights and be pampered here. Congratulations to all and I wish you a very Happy Christmas xo

We went to this restaurant last Friday evening. The service was absolutely shocking from start to finish. The lady that seated us was not very friendly, didn't offer us a drink. We waited 20minutes before someone approached our table to ask if we wanted to order a drink. The red hair man that served us pulled his mask down when speaking to us. We also observed him doing this every time he spoke to anyone. What's the point in having the covid regulations in place if the waiting staff pull their mask down to have a conversation. Our drinks arrived 10minutes later and our order was taken. It took 50mins before we were eating. Although the food was good, The portions were small and not worth the price. Our plates were empty for quite some time and waiting staff were constantly passing our table. I had to ask for the plates to be cleared.a dessert menu wasn't offered and I again, had to ask if we could order desserts. The staff were flustered and unorganised. We were very shocked to see a heavty service charge being added to the bill, given the service was so bad. I won't be back, very unfortunate.

We were seated quickly. However they need to update their menu as we wanted to order a sharing platter which wasn’t on the menu we were given, and when I inquired they said it wasn’t up to date. We decided to order 2 starters and a side to emulate this. They were nice but it doesn’t justify the price.

Haven’t ate in this restaurant for a long time. Decor was good. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Food was good. We were staying in the hotel and ate in the restaurant on the Saturday night too. Very busy and I don’t think their was enough staff on for the amount of diners but didn’t affect our enjoyment too much
