Sophie's Steakhouse Soho
Quite amazed that they do Sunday roast.
great place to meet up with friends. you can finally talk!!!! incredible elegant ambience.....I will go back. sunday roast was smashing:)
Enjoyed our first visit and will be back. Food was good service a little slow but busy Saturday night so we were happy enough. Personally I always leave a tip however feel the service charge added should be advertised on the web menu
Start of the service was greats and quick with great recommendations, but our regular server had moved on and we were forgotten about so took 30 minutes and asking two waiters to get the bill to close out and leave. Which let this little gem of a place down.
Friendly, really good food, excellent value and not rushed at all.
It’s was good but not great, the wine(Malbec) was lovely but the Steaks could have been better and took a while
Great venue and had a great evening. Will hopefully be back soon.
All the usual great stuff about Sophie’s are there: beautiful room, lovely food, good noise levels, great atmosphere. But... 5 of the bottles of wine we tried to order were out of stock... the waiter said they’d had a lot of red wine drinkers in... no kidding! It’s a steak resturant. The waiter split half a glass of our bottle of prosecco over me, and didn’t wipe it up or replace the bottle/glass and, finally, the women’s loos were disgusting. I did tell someone on the evening and they attended to the matter by simply shutting and locking the doors so, the women were down to 3 loos. I expected a little more from the lovely sophies.
Terrible! Picked restaurant for anniversary meal. Service was awful and really rushed when ordering (didn't get offered to order any sides with our steaks) Starters were ok, but as soon as we had finished, the mains were at our table. Both our steaks were cold. We both requested medium rare, my partners steak was medium to well done throughout, mine was well done on one end and blue in the middle. We were billed for a side dish we didn't receive and for two 'complementary' glasses of prosecco, as it was our anniversary. From arriving at the restaurant to receiving our bill took 45 minutes. We were both really looking forward to visiting Sophie's Soho but left feeling very very disappointed. London has lots of lovely steak restaurants, sadly this is not one of them.
to get a table the waiter was very helpful however to get the food was slow and the order incorrect- but as we waited so long for the food we didn’t recorrect them. the food tasted very nice and worth the money
The food was fantastic. The plus side was watching the chefs in the open kitchen preparing the meal.
If you want a really tasty plate of food, this is the place.
Went with a group from work last minute booking on a Friday night so was all I could get but really pleased with we went, a great atmosphere really busy, large bar for pre-drinks and great service, really enjoyed my sea bream and everyone else said food was great, will come here again.
Great service and some of the best meat I have eaten. The open plan kitchen really added to the experience.
The restaurant was empty and they stuck us in the corner next to an enormous set of draughty doors. I was freezing throughout the meal. The service was terrible. Our business guest was so unimpressed he before we were offered dessert menus. I should say this was 2 hours after we sat down and about 40 mins after our mains had been cleared away. Waiters were not at all attentive, 80% of the time we poured our own wine and we were constantly having to flag down waiters to ask for more drinks, further sauces, etc.
Great restaurant although the service was a little slow but this was compensated because the staff were very friendly. Food was good along with the portion sizes. Having said that, a couple of the starters were on the menu but not available, and staff didn’t know when we ordered. The price was reasonable considering it’s location. I would recommend to friends and family.
Nice place to celebrate a wedding anniversary lunch. Meal sizes are good and prices are very reasonable considering quality of ingredients and location of the venue. Staff were attentive and food served promptly. We were not hurried and were able to have a relaxed meal and conversation.
Lovely staff couldn’t fault anything really enjoyed visit will definitely recommend to family and friends
My wife and I were really looking forward to visiting Sophie's as we had heard really good things about it.
The service was quite attentive, but dropped off as the restaurant became busier.
Our starter was rather pricey for what it was (chicken wings) and we were not sure that the chicken was cooked all the way through so we didn't eat it all.
My steak was excellent and melt in the mouth to be fair (I had the fillet), but my wife had the sirloin and found it be chewy with too much charcoal on the outside and overcooked for what she had ordered.
The desserts were OK, but nothing to write home about.
Considering the bill came to just shy of £125, we were not overly impressed I'm afraid.
We went for lunch and first of all, the menu online vs the menu in the restaurant are different which first caused some alarm but all sorted quickly.
The chicken wings in watermelon was really nice, the steak frites was surprising as the steak was really small portion and the peppercorn sauce was lacking a punch of peppercorn. The “homemade” ice cream was just normal cheap ice cream from a supermarket which was extremely disappointing.
What caught my eye was that all the waiters seem to gather and talk about customers (myself included) in French at the bar which was rather rude.
Maybe it will be better if we went during the evening, we’ll see if there will be a next time.
I'm a farmers daughter and the ribeye steak was the best I have ever had. The cocktails were amazing too. Particularly Covent garden. 😊
Food took a long time to arrive then came with wrong side order, the short rib was over cooked and dry needed more sauce. Nobody asked if we needed anything, left most of the meat as not nice. Didn’t like salt pot on table as you don’t know if it’s changed every time or multiple times so unhygienic. Was very disappointed as booked on a recommendation. Only paid the service charge as we were running late for the theatre due to length of wait.
Visited with a couple of work friends on a weeknight. Very nice setting with a decent atmosphere.
Menu was good, especially for small plates and sharing. The quality of the food was very average, and the steak wasn’t that good (I had the ribyeye) but was decent value.
It didn’t help that all the decent beers had run out - only Sagres, Lagunitas and Heineken left...
Service was friendly and good, but I probably wouldn’t come here again for a meal. Nice place for a drink though and well located!
