About

A Harrow favourite for more than thirty years, the Sorrentina restaurant specialises in ultra traditional, ultra authentic Italian cuisine with a fine dining edge. With an interior blending old school trattoria styling with the neat white tablecloths and polished silverware of high end city restaurants, Sorrentina balances a casual and relaxed atmosphere with romance and quality, helped along by a large dose of excellence when it comes to service. Regularly changing, Sorrentina’s menu uses the best available ingredients to showcase the finest flavours of the ever popular cuisine of Italy; risottos and pasta dishes, fish, meat and a wide variety of vegetarian choices too. From its opening in the January of 1981, until today, Sorrentina has gained excellent reviews from local press and proved a word of mouth hit with the people of Harrow as well, a feat that even the finest restaurants of the West End struggle to achieve.

Sorrentina has been a Harrow institution for at least 35/40 years. Having been there several times, it never fails to impress. The food is fantastic. the service is excellent, and it is reasonably priced. Michael is friendly and always delivers with the excellent consistency of his menu. Having tried 3 home made deserts, he gave a us one more on the house, and they were all delicious. See you again soon !

Amazing food, a wonderfully authentic Italian restaurant. We booked as was staying in the area for a special occasion and didn't disappoint at all. Would really recommend a visit, a real gem with lovely friendly staff.

A touch of Italy in its decor, menu and service. The food was very good and the house wine excellent value. The vegetables included in the main course price were plentiful, varied and perfectly cooked. The desserts were also very good. We will be returning soon.

Authentic Italian experience! Went here for a quiet meal for two one Thursday and was not disappointed - the restaurant is quite small and cosy, and run by a very welcoming Italian family and the decor gives it a real sense of a traditional Italian restaurant.

The food was certainly Italian and all cooked really well, I had the fillet of steak medallions while my partner had veal, both of which were excellent; the wine list was good and not needlessly extensive as some places. The service was friendly and we were made to feel welcome through complimentary limoncello at the end which was a nice touch.

Considering the location this place is a real find out in Zone 5 and well worth the trip - highly recommended!

Took a friend here for his 85th birthday. Not our first visit, as it is close to him, and not our last either. Two of us had Saltimbocca all Romana - seemed very authentic to me, and very tasty. The other guest had Spaghetti ai Frutti de Mare. On the menu this comes with a tomato and chilli sauce, but this restaurant is always happy to tailor a dish to your requirements so they changed this to a light wine and cream sauce. To finish, as always, the very individual profiteroles were irrestible!

Lovely food and lovely ambience. Excellent customer service. Even thought I had my younger daughter walking around the restaurant, they didn't seem to mind and were smiling and friendly. Definitely recommend. A bit pricey compared to some other authentic Italian restaurants but good nonetheless

A local, friendly, family style restaurant. The staff are great fun and the service is very good and very efficient. The tables are a bit close together for an intimate conversation. Unfortunately there was a power cut as we were finishing so we ended up leaving earlier than intended.

Once again, a most enjoyable meal at La Sorrentina. A friendly welcome, and attentive service in the old professional style. We all ate from the set menu, and the tomatao and mozarella salad was both refreshing and ample. Venetian Style Calves Liver was again ordered by all of us. Two of us had eaten this before here, and we both thought it was slightly different this time - it seemed a bit "hot", and we wondered if chilli had been added ? If so, I feel this is a mistake; or at least should have been mentioned.
The finale was the profiteroles. These are very individual ! At first glance one thinks "Oh - only two?". But they are both very good and very rich. Two is enough !
We all look forward to our next visit.

Another visit to this delightful restaurant. Home-made food prepared and presented with care. The family atmosphere results from the fact that Mama and Papa run front of house, chat if you wish to chat, explain about the dishes and are genuinely interested in ensuring that you enjoy their food and the ambience. The beef stroganoff (I know - it's not Italian but who cares) is wonderful with melt-in-the-mouth beef. The tiramisu is to die for. We shall keep coming back.

This is a reliable, family run, Italian restaurant. This is on the opposite side of London to my home territory, and it was my first meal here; however I would certainly return if in this area. All three of us chose classic Italian dishes - two of us eating, from the set menu, fegato alla veneziana, followed by profiteroles or cassata siciliana, and the third choosing saltimbocca alla veneziana ffrom the main menu. All were suitably authentic. The selection of sliced breads at the start of the meal were very fresh, and included a caraway seed bread which is something not often offered. Service was efficient and friendly - two words which sum up Sorrentina very well.

An appointment at Kings College Hospital brought us to Harrow.
The Sorrentina Italian restaurant was prebooked before our travel.
Outstanding food, wine and drinks served by a great, friendly family run establishment.
I will definitely be visiting in the future.

Late dinner for me and my wife. When we entered the restaurant there is only one regular client, I was a little bit worried to be honest. However, my worries are completely pointless when we saw the food that the regular on the other table ordered and of course when we see our 3 courses that reached us professionally cooked, presented and served.

Great Service and Great Food! The Chef is very friendly while the waiter is professional with an ace service! We couldn't have enjoy it any better.

A nice little touch from the Chef is he offered us a Lemon Cello on the house. Unfortunately, I am driving and my wife is breast feeding. So we couldn't try it.

If I have to be very picky on my review: Its a little expensive, but acceptable considering for what we have received from the restaurant.

Been living in Harrow for about 8 years and I can't believe that I've never been here before.
Food was great, as was the service. Considering harrow has either chain restaurants or curry I can't believe I've only just found this place. Will definitely go again at some point.

This was our first time at this restaurant. It is a true traditional Italian and clearly had regular clientele which is always a good sign. The food was lovely but we were slightly put off by the close proximity of the neighbouring tables, no more than a hands width to our left and enough to just squeeze by on the right and so we felt our conversations were being overheard. It was a lovely restaurant to try but as Harrow isn't too local to us I am not sure we will return any time soon. Although I should add the staff were very nice.
