Wonderful place for lunch/dinner with tasty and high quality food. The waiter was so kind and friendly, giving us good recommendations about the available dishes and beers. The result was an amazing dinner with superb dishes with lamb, fish and chicken, each one with their perfect sauces and sides, followed by chocolate desserts you could enjoy by only looking at them. No doubt we will come back whenever we travel to Edinburgh again.

Booked a table using Open Table-phoned restaurant to see if I could put time back due to travel issues and was told by hotel SB is in that the bistro was shut that night-birthday meal ruined.
Emailed hotel next day-no response.

I had s table booked at the bistro on the 28th of December, I booked it online as it said it would be open, on the day I accidentally went to another place down the road called The Salisbury Arms. I called Spencer's to say u was at the wrung place for them to then tell me they were closed. I asked why it then let me book a table and also book a voucher on groupon. The woman on the line insisted I was wrong and there was no way their website allowed me to do all of this. Luckily the Salisbury had the best hospitality they let us dine there and we had s great evening. Again not at Spencers

Great place really good for families had super choice and will definitely return. Service was outstanding went the extra mile. I had a charcuterie smorgasbord to start outside in the garden area then a lovely ribeye perfectly cooked in the restaurant.

We had one night in Edinburgh to drop our daughter at Uni. We met with friends doing the same and we were celebrating our girls’ success. The entry from the hotel above was past the open kitchen door which was unpleasant - it didn’t look very clean. Choosing from the menu was difficult as many items were unavailable - but the waitress would wait for us to order rather than announcing at the start what was unavailable. Examples being no whisky syrup to accompany the haggis fritters which the waitress described would be dry without; my husband tried to order two different linguine dishes but the kitchen had run out of linguine; hand cut double cooked chips were replaced with skinny fries without us being told and despite many vegetables being on the menu - the kitchen had run out of all of them. To compensate my husband had sea bass fillets with potatoes served with chilli and ginger, sweet potato fries and further potatoes with chilli and ginger. Then the only dessert available from the menu was icecream. A disappointing experience I’m afraid
