Food is very good especially the dhaba chicken is up to my spice level. The quantities are smaller though food taste is excellent
Obviously dining on the street in a windstorm was a challenge, not only to us, but mostly to the waitstaff, who did an amazing job. The food as usual was first rate
Our absolute favourite Indian food in Los Angeles..
Pretty good for a date, I had a good time. CAUTION: it's outside and it's really cold
The best Indian food in town for sure will go there a lot
We received extremely poor service. After making a reservation a week in advance, we got our table 20 mins late. Our food came 50 mins after we had ordered. We didn't get any heat lamps as requested. Other tables received free dessert due to Diwali (an Indian celebration). We came to celebrate Diwali at the restaurant and did not receive any such perks. We did not even get asked what spice levels we wanted our food at. I had to personally ask the manager where our food was and when I told him I was extremely disappointed at the service, I was shown extreme attitude and rudeness. I will not be coming back to this restaurant again. There are so many better Indian restaurants with better service like Cardamom Restaurant in Beverly Hills.
My party and I enjoyed our dining experience at Spice Affair. Firstly, the service was top quality. They frequently checked in on us, made sure our glasses were full, and asked us if we enjoyed everything. The food was amazing! Everything was great! But highlights were definitely the Cocoli Cauliflower and Saag. The samosa and naan were also amazing. Would definitely go again!
I am not the biggest fan of Indian food, but it is my wife's favorite and it was her birthday. So I decided to take her to an Indian food restaurant she had never been to and my research showed Spice Affair was "fine dining" and had some "diner choice" accolades. Since I cannot enjoy anything with chili pepper in it, my wife is the basis for this review. The service was AMAZING...the waiter did his best to help me order what I could eat and even gave my wife a candle and dessert for her bday...however, I wish the food was better. I did order lamb in some mild curry sauce, but the chunks of lamb were not good quality (chewy and dry a bit) My wife ordered her favorite "Yellow Daal" and she said she didn't like it at all. We took it all to go so as not to offend the very nice man waiting for us, but she never ate it. Also, i felt it was pretty overpriced for this quality of food...but again, the service was FIRST CLASS. Sadly, my wife will not come back here. We picked up Mulligatawny Soup to go on way home for her bday dinner from her favorite place.
Very authentic Indian cuisine. Infact some of the regional indian cuisine is so authentic on taste.
Loved the ambience and the crowd. Great service, highly recommended. Lives up to its name and the location - Beverly Hills!
Underwhelmed and overpriced.
Amazing Indian cuisine , excellent customer service. Can’t wait to go back
As usual great food and great service
i was incredibly disappointed by my experience the other night. perhaps it was just an off night or things are that much more challenging with the pandemic - either way, it wasn’t a good night.
My Wife and I were here yesterday for lunch. We called first to make sure they were seating people...they were but were told it would be outside seating only. This restaurant being my wife's favorite Indian restaurant we decided to go and support this local business (not quite local to us as we live in the OC) but we wanted to do our part during this pandemic. We were seated outside, and of course there is no buffet so we got a chance to order from their ala carte menu. For appetizer we ordered the tandoor artichoke hearts, it was awesome...tasted even better with the mint & tamarind sauce. For the entree I ordered delhi dabha chicken curry and my wife ordered nadru kofta...we loved it! Special shoutout to the waiter Mr. Bhavesh and the manager Mr. Kumar. They were so very personable and took every precaution necessary while serving...it was an delightful experience! If you like Indian food and want to support local businesses, drop by to this restaurant.
I find the food to be very good, but pretty expensive. I was there in a party of five and could barely hear the other guests at the other end.
Always a wonderful time with delicious food and drinks.
Tasty Fast Services
Very tasty food with attentive service. Beautiful place and location
The manager was so nice and also the food was so good i hardly write reviews and i just had to write this. Im indian and have high standards for indian food and this food was way beyond my expectations and i wish i could eat here every day thanks a lot rahul dhawan
Amazing food , service was even better
Very happy and I will go back indeed
I have been eating Indian food at this location for over 30 years. After several incarnations I find that Spice Affair is as good and even better in some areas than Gaylords was (my first at this location). Spice Affair has become my favorite Indian restaurant. And I plan on returning many times; in fact I already made reservations for my next culinary experience.
The variety of dishes, quality of service and whole experience were simply outstanding! I would strongly recommend this as a wonderful place for business meetings, date night and more!
always good. the DINE LA menu was intriguing...but it was too tempting to just order favorites off the well rounded menu.
This restaurant continues to improve... it is a neighborhood restaurant or an end point destination. Service is relaxed but efficient, and the food is terrific
Unfortunately for a restaurant that reiterates casual on the phone, the prices are that of a very refined InDian dining experience, of which Spice Affair is not. Non Indian servers lack the authenticity, the menu is a twist on classic Indian food but is too hard to navigate without taking risks on a meal which is way over priced. Open, airy and not a comfortable dining environment. I think they are a bit lost on what they are attempting to do and their days are numbered. After all, 3 adults and 3 kids and no wine or expensive bottles to drink and the bill with gratuity already included at 20%, was an astounding $475.00!! Never again.
Wow. Now one of our favorite restaurants. It was relatively quiet, as we arrived for a very early dinner. it quickly filled up by the time we left. Attractive, elegant oom design with a romantic ambiance. They really get lighting; soft. They play excellent World style background music (sort of Martini Madness....). The server was knowledgeable, engaged with helping us pick something to our taste.
We started with Baby Naan Trio (Duck, mushroom coconut curry tempered with mustard seeds and curry leaves. She loved it. My plate was Flash Grilled Sea Bass marinated with yogurt, fresh herbs, turmeric. Loved it! We highly recommend this restaurant over all the fine restaurants in the area.
Beautiful place with interesting unconventional takes on Indian cuisine. Only criticism, quite pricy.
Overpriced tasteless food and the staff is inexperienced. One of our dishes was completely bland and just swimming in heavy cream. When we provided our feedback on the dish, our server responded with “ you win some, you lose some”. That was the level of service we received all night!
Overpriced. Didn’t like the fish
The most delicious Indian cuisine in town... and with the attention to detail from service to super clean serving ware, my family loves dining together here!
Best Indian food in North America, but awful service.
We went to Spice Affair because it was close to the Saban Theatre where we were attending a concert. Everything is 5 stars except value, because, after all, this is Beverly Hills, so it is a little pricey. The experience was wonderful because we had a first class waitperson, who was super helpful at just the right times, and gave us all the time we needed to make decisions from a menu that has Indian dishes that are somewhat familiar but with some interesting twists that were really fun and delicious. Because it was a weeknight and quite early (seated at 5:30), the restaurant (which is beautifully decorated) was mostly empty, but the noise was moderate because of a happy hour event going on in the bar area. We don't usually do appetizers, but the tandoori grilled artichoke hearts (our choice) and the slightly crunchy cauliflower in coconut sauce (recommended by our server) were both terrific. Main dishes were tasty too, with one being cooked in a dum (casserole dish with naan over the top like a pastry crust), which was new to us. And if you are a chocolate person, don't pass up the triple chocolate mousse for dessert, even if you think you don't have room--we two shared one between us.
Cauliflower appetizer was terrific. Everything was very good, as was the service. Will return
WOW!! What an absolutely wonderful experience we had at this restaurant!! It was our first time there and it was to celebrate my birthday. We had a party of 10 people; originally I booked it on their website for 6 people and got an immediate email confirmation; which I loved. We had to add 4 people the day before, but the app tells you to call the restaurant. I spoke with someone named Nagresh, who made it a pleasant experience to add my extra friends and allowed me to bring in my own birthday cake. Our waiter was named JOSH and he was beyond FANTASTIC at his job; funny, fast service, kept the pace of managing so many of us. The menu has an enormous selection from various parts of India. It came hot, fast and the best part, SO YUMMY!! It was flavorful, perfectly spiced, fragrant; only wished the portion size was bigger; they’re very small portions, but in fairness, the prices justify the quantity of the food. Normally, that would irk me, but this food is such a teaser, you will definitely make this restaurant a permanent dining destination. I hear they have a lunch buffet too, so we’re going to try that experience soon. Oh, I know you want to hear about parking because that’s a rough time trying to find parking, but not when you dine at the restaurant. We valet parked for $7.50 and the parking guy came in to make sure we got our keys. Our friends parked under the building for the same price and dome actually found street parking. Extremely easy parking experience. PLEASE TRY THIS RESTAURANT. You will be so happy and proud to refer to your family and friends. BEST RESTAURANT FOR US THIS YEAR!!
The servers were excellent. Appreciate their service.
As always, the food was excellent! Service was very good. The noice level is just right so that a table of six can hold a conversation.
Great dining experience! The food and service was excellent! Will definitely come back and have already recommended this restaurant to others.
Food was delicious and the service and ambience were excellent. The prices were slightly high.
Excellent Food - especially Shrimp Varuval.
Happy hour rocks.
I have loved spice affair both on location and take out until this weekend. The food order on both curry dishes was so, so hot it was inedible. My phone calll to politely request a redo was met not with “what may we do to make you happy”but instead was met with distan and a little cross examination. I was told they would redo the order and I should drive back the original order, which I dutifully repackaged in the original containers and drove all across town to return. I was unceremoniously handed a replacement order whereby the old, cold rice I had returned with the inedible curry was lifted out and put into the new order bag! When I asked for fresh rice, again a look of disdain and a cool “oh so u want new rice as well.......”. If the restaurant had apologized, smiled and been happy to remedy this I would still be a veryhappy customer; but this unhelpful, arrogant, you are a nuisance attitude was rude, unhelpful and so unnecessary. And to add insult to injury the revised order was not up to their usual standard.
