Very good food, ate here twice on our holiday.
Tried different food both times and both were very nice. The desserts especially!
Good kids play area in the garden that entertained my daughter whilst we waited for the food.

Honestly one of the best meals we've had in Dorset. Wonderful staff, friendly atmosphere and really good food. Great service throughout the sitting and great choice of puddings afterwards.

There were 17 of us and they catered amazingly. Food came fast and was wonderful. Service excellent. Really couldn't be happier. Great pub.

Food is very nice and great quality. Only thing that lets it down is the service. Went on 2 separate nights and both times kept waiting at the bar for about 15 minutes to be served. There was only about 5 customers at the time in the bar area. Serves would come out from the back, see you waiting and then go back. Such a shame as the food itself is lovely but the wait to order and get served ruins the experience unfortunately.

Sunday roast was lovely even though we hoped for fish and chips but the classic dishes are understandably not available because of the roast
Choice of 3 meats and extras although we ordered extras they were found to be not available and politely refunded to us after the meal by the manager
The dining area was quite busy for an evening and all staff and management were doing all they could to k eep all the customers happy despite some complaints of slow service and shortages from a couple of tables
I understand fro the manager they are trying to recruit more staff for the summer season and I hope they are in a position then to show their true colours

Service was fine but food quality wasn’t great we had the roast which was uninspiring as it was Easter Monday I think it was probably cooked in advance and as we had a later appointment and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet the food had been kept warm until we arrived

We went to the Spice Ship on Saturday for dinner. We really like the place, well decorated with a good selection of food on the menu. Our only issues were that one member of our party wanted to swap their chips for a portion of salad and were told no which was a bit unusual and we had to wait for our cutlery once our food was already on the table. However we all agreed the food was lovely and there were clear plates all round by the end of the meal. Another member of the party said the chocolate fudge cake was the best thing she had to eat all holiday!

Usual lovely food and service dissapointed that a child was allowed to cycle around the restruant part 🤔feel the staff should have stopped this.
Sadly also smell of weed from garden and customers on this occasion.
Will certainly use again as am sure we just had one of those evenings

The sticky toffee pudding was absolutely amazing and the sausage and mash and roast beef were really good. More gravy on the sausages and mash though as had to ask for extra and the roast beef was a bit to over cooked but very tasty all the same. Will be back

We went to the Spice Ship for lunch and I was really impressed. The barman was friendly & attentive, and the food was excellent. I haven't had a pub lunch like it since I can remember, it was nicer than I've had in a pricey restaurant , value for money was amazing. I would highly recommend visiting this gem.

We had been told it would be slow by friends who had been before, but to arrive around 4:45pm and not leave till after 7:30pm due to the service being slow was unexpected. Also at least one dish, which had been mistakenly brought out with starters, was clearly left under the hot lights until the rest of the mains were ready. Which was a long time. Making it dry and chewy and unappetising All rather disappointing really.

Ordered a sunday roast. Very dissappointing . The meat was good ( had beef ), however the veg were very poor. Frozen carrots and cauliflower which were ‘springy’ and not cooked. Ok if you just want a drink there.

Thank you for looking after us last night with good table service and to the girls who sang happy birthday to my dad
Although 6 of 8 of the meals were absolutely fine the two curries one chicken and 1 prawn were not very nice. There was no curry heat in them and were not enjoyed. However overall it was an enjoyable evening.
