    Wow! Spiced Roots was one of the better dining experiences I’ve had recently. For starters I had the aubergine dish, which was arguably the best starter I’ve EVER had. The depth of flavour was intense. I had the goat curry for the mains. I hadn’t previously tried goat so seeing it on the menu, there was no other choice! Revolutionary. Up there with the best curries I’ve had. The rum cake for dessert was sublime and the rum punch I had has really awakened me to the joys of good rum cocktails. Overall, I would heartedly recommend Spiced Roots to anyone visiting Oxford. Well priced and food up there with the best in the city.

    Food was tasty and filling, great Trini Doubles and Rum Punch. Good selection on the menu, I also ordered to take away. Service was attentive. Would definitely recommend.

    A party of 7 of us, some veggie, all had a brilliant evening here. Everyone loved their food and drinks, and the staff were great, and very helpful. It was a nice, friendly atmosphere, where we could easily chat. Highly recommend. Thank you!

    Best restaurant in Oxford! 5 of us went and managed to try almost all the starters and mains - each one more delicious than the next! And beautifully presented too. Also - the cocktails are divine.

    Loved the chilled atmosphere and service, made for a very relaxing and enjoyable evening. Fab Bob Marley soundtrack. Would recommend the jerk chicken, it was so tender!! Definitely a must visit whilst in Oxford!

    The food was great if a little less varied than what I have had here before. The jerk chicken was excellent but the veggie options a bit samey and fewer of them too. Loved the cocktails

    I think since we last visited Spiced Roots they have changed owner and / or chef. This was evident as the menu choice was more limited and the portions were significantly smaller. All in all we weren’t as impressed with the food / cocktails or value for money as we had been previously which is a shame as this was one of our favourite restaurants in Oxford.

    The food at Spiced Roots is always really delicious - traditional West Indian dishes but done with a kind of fine-dining innovation and attention to detail. I had the prawn curry with chickpeas and potatoes, which was delicious although perhaps not quite as spectacular as the curry goat which is my usual choice and never disappoints. They are always very friendly and welcoming as well, and there's a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Highly recommended for anyone in Oxford who's looking for an unusual and tasty meal.

    Love the food, the octopus starter was amazing with the right level of spice. Jerk chicken was good, but not much meat on the chicken - great taste though, wife had the lamb chops - oh my that was brilliant..

    Very pleased with everything. Friendly service, lovely flavours in the food, a welcome change to British cooking. authentic way to serve fish but had to watch out for bones - we've been spoilt by fish always being filleted I guess. Great music - thanks for turning it down when asked -although some people will prefer it louder I know. Easy parking in at Clements carpark just 3 minutes walk away. Finally the rum and raisin icecream!! Fabulous!!

    Ate there at 6.30 on a Friday evening. There were a couple of other tables occupied at that time but it soon filled up after 7. Nice cosy space. Service was prompt and attentive. The food came very quickly (same for all tables) and was excellent. Overall a great experience.

    I won't dine at Spiced Roots Oxford again. The food portions were ridiculously small; the main dish was lukewarm and bland; and the starter tasted as if it was reheated in a microwave rather than freshly prepared. The only non-alcoholic beverages were water and soda - despite boasting about their bar, there isn't enough consideration for teetotals to offer 'mocktails'. Overall, the experience was not special enough to return and it wasn't value for money.

    Great restaurant for high quality Caribbean food. Every dish we had was bursting with flavour and the cocktails were also excellent. Great atmosphere, I would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to go back!
