Make sure you ask for the pricing of specials before you order there over-the-top expensive and not worth it
Food was excellent as always. We had the Swordfish and the Salmon entree and both were excellent. We sat outside for the first time and it was nice. It is a bit busy out there so if you want a slight less busy atmosphere I would sit inside.
What a night to dine al fresco and enjoy three delicious seafood dishes that enclosed a lobster and crab mousse with salad, soft shell crab tempura with refreshing setup Caesar and tomato salad, and crab crusted codfish. We managed to save a little room for berry pavlova meringue tart. Service was great and gracious. And to be sat in the outside corner enjoying the sunset at this little outside dining gem...not to say the inside is beautiful too along with tonight dishes we sampled. Go make reservations here...everyone was happy this Sunday evening. Thanks again.
I was dining with a friend, who implored me NOT to say anything to the server. Personally, I always feel it is better to say something when you are having the bad experience, and it should be said directly to those responsible. But, friendships need to be valued and nurtured, so I said nothing.
With that said, I'm one who relies on Open Table with all its reviews. St. Eve's, as you can see, has wonderful reviews. 4.7 stars! I was terribly misled, and since I do not want any other member to be so misled, here is my honest review.
The service was very good, yes! Our server was personable and very professional. And the décor of St. Eve's was cozy and inviting, yes! And don't most of us appreciate a lovely BYOB dining spot? Unfortunately, that is where it stopped. Sadly, and surprisingly considering the great reviews, the FOOD was NOT GOOD. Not enjoyable at all. I wish I could think of something more creative to describe our meals, but I think "not good" and "not enjoyable" are sufficient.
You may read this and think "well, every place can have an off night". And I would agree, except this was my 2nd time dining at St. Eve's. I dined for the first time in June 2019, and thought that was the "off" night. I can honestly say this experience was more disappointing. In the dining world, I think 2 strikes and you're out applies (serious foodies would only give 1 strike!) The service is important, and the décor too, but if the food is "not good" or "not enjoyable", then the restaurant is not worthy of 4.7 stars.
We keep going back to St. Eves for the delicious food and the great service
We always enjoy the friendly casual atmosphere of this restaurant, where we have been going for many years. The food is always good, sometimes imaginative, and well-priced.
Very pleasant, good menu choices, everything seems carefully prepared
Never disappoints! One of the most consistent restaurants in regards to food and service. Definitely a big favorite of mine!
We had not been to St. Eve’s in awhile, so we decided to go there with friends in a Saturday evening. It was nice to see the extraordinary standards have not changed. Our table enjoyed lobster ravioli, short ribs, salmon, swordfish and opah. We also indulged in perfederrols for dessert. Everything was wonderful!
I always have a great meal here. The food is outstanding and always had excellent service. I also like the ambiance.
It was our anniversary and everything was great
St. Eve’s is one of our favorites. My husband and I have never been disappointed in the food or service.
Excellent food and service. Not a huge menu, but something for everyone.
Great experience for celebrating my husband's birthday. Mussels were REALLY good, we asked for extra bread for dipping into the yummy sauce and got it. For dinner I got a single soft shell crab, which was excellent, crisp but not crunchy, just right..... My husband got the short ribs, probably more of a fall or winter meal, but he enjoyed it very much, sides were good with that, carrots, mashed potatoes and a lovely sauce.
We were happy with the service, the meal and the noise level (but it was not a full house, which would feel cramped I think)
Good meal $100 with tip, BYOB
The food is always top notch and consistency is very hard to maintain in the food world. Bravo to St Eve’s
We had the filet mignon ravioli as an appetizer, and the Hangar steak and lobster ravioli for our entrees and everything was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was fantastic and we didn't realize how late it had gotten, and no one even gave us a hint that they were closing and we needed to leave, which we felt bad about, so all around great service and lovely people.
St. Eve's is consistently good. The Pecan Chicken is my personal favorite!
The food was fantastic! Service was friendly and efficient and never intrusive. Will definitely be back.
We always have a wonderful experience at St Eves. Great service delicious food selections from apps to desserts
From the wonderful bread that appears to start the meal, the food at St. Eve's never disappoints. The menu changes seasonally, though regulars may recognize some of the restaurant's standards (e.g. mussels app, or pecan crusted chicken entree). The apps are often so good that I'll have 2 apps and call it a night. This week I chose the lobster & crab timbale (which was not exactly what I was expecting, but excellent), followed by a single soft shell crab, crispy tempura-style crust, served over Asian slaw. If there is a weak link in their food chain, it's the desserts. They're ok, but few standouts. Best are the Pavlova & the cobblers which are usually featured as a special. Changing up the desserts would be a positive change, but otherwise, St. Eve's food & service always leaves us satisfied.
Food was delicious and made fresh. Perfect portions.
You will never be disappointed. The food and service is outstanding. Cute dining area outside
for a al fresco experience
Love this place !!!!!!!!
I would like to start by saying I absolutely love St. Eve's. I have been there on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The food is always sensational - fresh and perfectly prepared. The issue this time was with the waitress - she had no personality, unfriendly and barely stopped at our table, which is so unlike any waiter or waitress I have ever had at St. Eve's. The other wait staff who came to our table were terrific though which sort of made up for the lead waitress. Maybe she was just having a bad day.....
The food was great. We ordered mussels with a delicious broth and asked for some bread for dipping and we were told they were out of bread (not true as we saw bread being delivered to other tables!). The service was very unfriendly and curt. We will not go back because of it.
We have been to St Eve’s many times but the past few experiences have left us just blah. We always book at least a week in advance, and usually request a particular area of the restaurant. They’ve been unable to accommodate that request the past few times for reasons that aren’t explained, despite tables in that exact area sitting empty the entire time we were there. I always order the same dish, which has been inconsistent our last few visits (either dry, lukewarm, inconsistent portioning, etc). Hopefully it was just a few “off” nights for them.
Food and service were very good. Some minor issues, such as tables are small and few beets in the "beet salad", but these did not deter from an overall very good experience.
Charming place, yummy food, lovely hostess and knowledgeable staff.
Our waiter was great. Knew the menu well and gave us several recommendations based off of our preferences. Food was fresh and creative.
As always it was fantastic and we love Christine!!
St. Eves is a great place to eat for any reason. The ambiance, food and service is outstanding and has been each time I have dined there.
We have been to St Eve’s many times and this was an unimpressive visit. The waitress seemed to be bored and uninspired. The meal was interesting but not served completely hot. If it was the first visit, I don’t know if I would be in a rush to go back. My expectations based upon previous experiences fell short
The food was exquisite! The portions were generous for such an upscale place! And looked beautiful on the plate. The staff was very attentive. (The only downside, if you want to call it that, is that I was not able to have a cocktail prior to my meal since it is a BYOB)
I try to get to St. Eve’s as often as possible for soft shells.
Excellent rack of lamb and opa fish specials were delicious.
Food was OK, but not outstanding, especially considering the prices. Our waiter was almost robotic in her interactions with us - always nicer with a waiter with some personality. Rooms once filled with diners was very loud.
It had been awhile since I ate here, but needed a spot for Mother's Day and immediately thought of St. Eve's. No matter how many times I've come here, it is always consistently top-notch, and this experience was no different. Friendly, competent staff, great food, and they were more than accommodating when we had some last minute changes to the number in our party, which I know is difficult to do on a holiday.
This is our go-to restaurant and they never disappoint!
Food was outstanding. This was our second visit. Will definitely return.
