Booked a table and requested a high table but did not get one even though they were available. I felt we were an inconvenience to the waitress. Not the usual standard for your restaurants.
I went there with a very special person and we loved it. The food was fantastic, the staff very friendly and spent an excellent time trying different food.
Would recommend.........but we felt the dishes were overpriced.
Staff were too attentive! We were asked twice about everything: drinks, food, whether everything was ok.
This was my second visit to St Vincent, and it was just as fantastic as my first visit. The food is delicious and great choices, and the knowledge of the waiting staff on the food and wine was most helpful. Lovely atmosphere, we will definitely be back again and again.
Absolutely love this place; decor, atmosphere, location and the food is delicious! A credit to Newcastle 👍
Staff really friendly and attentive. Food lovely but portions quite small therefore not great value for money
Great tasting food and lovely wine served by knowledgeable staff ; a real treat.
An amazing brunch. Great friendly and informative service. Menu choice very good to cater for wide range of tastes. Perfectly poached eggs and fresh doughnuts were just ace!
Fast becoming the best place in town for a lovely long dinner
Great food as usual but music was too loud again.
I have been here on a number of occasions. We had a great time overall, but were a little disappointed when initially seated and the restaurant was quiet, we had to ask for drinks as we were ignored for a while. Service was then impeccable after this. Most plates were fantastic apart from steak which was a little too simple and not to standard of the rest.
We went for bottomless Sunday brunch that was genuinely outstanding! Definitely recommend; service was brilliant, food delectable and drinks were bottomless!
Superb range of food small plates great taste great ingredients would go again in a heartbeat
Fantastic everything.... wine , food, ambiance, staff
Impeccable service and food, my favourite restaurant in Newcastle
Went on restaurant week but would pay full price. Great food, subtle flavour which had really good depth. Staff amazing and good tunes!
The waitresses were very attentive and advised on large selection of wines, allowing tasting as required. The food was very good, and really very fresh and fragrant....very different from normal tapas you would get at Spanish tapas restaurants.
One watch out is that Food stopped at 10pm.
All in all definitely going back, and good choice for a slightly different dining experience.
Lovely atmosphere & great tapas (wine pretty good too 😆), will definitely be back!
Fantastic food, service and ambience. Would recommend to both couples and large groups. Couldn’t fault it.
Beautiful food and great value. Lots of plates for all tastes and staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely be going back!
Never had a bad experience here. In a city where consistently good food and wine is hard to find, St Vincent is head and shoulders above the rest. Not only is the food excellent but it's so refreshing to have knowledgeable, friendly and professional staff.
The tapas were tasty and well varied. We especially liked the seared tuna. These arrived promptly following putting an order in. We found the music loud and would suggest the volume is put down.
Best restaurant in town, highest quality food, casual dining, just perfect
Really relaxed with friendly, helpful staff. The food was fantastic and the service great.
This was our first visit and it wont be our last. The food was amazing as were the staff, fantastic experience. Will be back very soon!
Visited last minute going off reviews with high expectations. Unfortunately didn’t meet ours. We ordered one dish that was sent back as too salty. Another dish was very bland but just ate it as other tapas had arrived at this point. Staff asked if we wanted anything else or take off bill of which we decided on latter. Wine was fab however. May visit again to see if it was a one off.
Lovely ambience and atmosphere, loved the high seating area. Food was fantastic as always, great choice, our favourite on this occasion was the venison ragu pasta. Service was a bit slow on this occasion, normally not an issue though. Overall very enjoyable experience.
We enjoyed our visit to St Vincent overall. The staff were very nice, especially our server, a Colombian lady. The food was fine but didn't blow us away. We had some cheese and the pate which were fine. The cheese came with sweet cherries, which was a nice addition. the sourdough bread wasn't very sour but it was ok. Then we ordered the black pudding ravioli (on the menu they spell it raviolis!) but they weren't really ravioli, it was a deep fried dough, resembling a samosa or pastilla. Also the venison pasta was ok, it wasn't very special. I think it is a bit pricey for the quality of the food but it is a nice place. The wine list was very good and reasonably priced. The Spanish Tempranillo we ordered was good. Overall a nice experience but not too memorable.
Lovely atmosphere and the champagne and food were lovely.
Service was a little slow... however the quality of the food made up for it
Outstanding food service and style. Probably the best restaurant in Newcastle. Not to be missed.
I love the 21 Group and was disappointed to lose Cafe Vivo. However at St Vincent’s although what food we did have was lovely, it just wasn’t good enough to justify the meagre sizes for prices. Somewhere you’d visit only for the wine, with occasional side plate of food, rather than a meal out.
Great food and service - we wanted an early meal before a concert at the Sage and this was just right
Super food as always with anywhere associated with Terry Laybourne. Fantastic tapas plates of various sizes (beware the larger plates are priced almost as mains) from meatballs, to roasted peppers to croquettes to locally sourced crab and so on. Food quality outstanding, lovely staff and a very pleasant laid-back vibe). Really nice ambience and design with standing bar area as well as cover seating, pen brick walls and interior touches.
Service a bit slow, drinks menu to expensive, food ok the restaurant was lovely though.
Unfortunately we were all ill after the meal
Expensive for small portion staff indifferent !
Shared 6 small dishes and all were excellent. Also service very friendly and professional.
My Husband and I had a delicious lunch to celebrate our anniversary. We decided to opt for mixed small plates as starter then shared a whole Turbot and vegetables as a main. Both courses were a pure taste sensation!
We went for breakfast during the week, which meant the restaurant was quiet. I am looking forward to going back in the evening as the drinks menu looks fantastic. Wonderfully decorated and the service was excellent. I was initially sad to Cafe Vivo go (which was in the same place beforehand, run by the same people I believe), but am delighted to see the replacement live up to its predecessor.
Great food, nice setting, good service. A little on the more exp end when you add it all up but I think we got value for money.
Very confused service at beginning, when the barmen just decided not to do our order, because we were taken to the table. If you advertise bottomless brunch, you do need to make sure people are checking regularly whether you want another drink. The food was mostly good, perhaps overly rich, but still well made. Service was polite, but as previously said, very confused and a tad slow. Would like to try the ala carter and think we may have just went on a bad day.
