Servers were great. Friendly and attentive. I would recommend the Grill.
Impeccable service amd wonderful attention to detail.
Went for our wedding anniversary. Gorgeous dining room. Excellent but not intrusive service. Everything we had was outstanding but the Black Sea bass crudo was really incredible. We’ll go back.
It was fantastic our waiter was great very knowledgeable about menu and wines great guy
Excellent service & great food. A bit noisy but very nice evening out.
Ate outside on a summer’s evening. Excellent service. First rate burgers and starters to share. Very enjoyable evening.
Every food enthusiast should experience dining at Standard Grill. The dishes that Rocco has created are truly spectacular. He has a gift for combining ingredients to create incredible flavors. The raw bar was excellent, the truffle risotto was incredible and the quality of the beef was top notch. I plan to visit again soon and highly recommend this restaurant.
We had a delicious meal celebrating a friend's Birthday. The service was fantastic and our main server, George was incredibly helpful and really made the dining experience a 10! The food was delicious, we loved everything!! Especially the heirloom tomato salad - WOW!
overall, the experience was very memorable. I had ordered the bison steak. It was more chewy than expected .
Everything was perfect.
Very nice meal, cool space, red shrimp & truffles off the charts!
Everything was superb. Food , service, ambience . One of our favorite restaurants in nyc.
Went for restaurant week and while the menu seemed a great deal it felt like the dishes came from a different restaurant. The steak was great with really good mashed potatoes but everything else, from the oysters (almost as much grit and shell as meat) to the sardines (pickled, seriously who does pickled sardines outside of a Swedish restaurant) to the scallop crudo (sweet to the point of a dessert) to the sea bass (poached but with a health does of fish scales - take the skin off if you can't clean it), led to some seriously bad misses. The highlight was the lemon tarte dessert which was great. Service wise everyone was nice and attentive but the food came almost on top of itself. Oysters served with the appetizers. Main courses came literally 5 minutes after we finished. Not sure what Rocco is doing but this is one of the most missable meals we've had in NY. Don't do the restaurant week and unless they fix practically everything don't waste your time.
Wonderful menu, well prepared. very good service, and the sommelier particularly goo.
Very friendly service, excellent choices, ability to sit inside or outside.
We had a fabulous birthday celebration at the Standard Grill. The scallops in tomato water are as great as everyone says. The Special Cut lobster was the best I’ve ever eaten (and I’ve eaten a lot of lobsters). Last winter I had the short ribs Special Cut which were also memorable. I’m also a fan of the truffle risotto with red shrimp; the Copper River salmon; the shiitakes; and the black bass crudo.
So glad that Chef Rocco is back!
Absolutely phenomenal! The food, the service, the ambiance... Highly recommended!
I brought a friend here for dinner after my last visit and it didn’t disappoint. Everything was amazing.
Underwhelming experience. No tablecloth on the table. Super dark. My black seabass was so spicy I could not eat it. Desert was dairy free browny which tasted horrible. The wine list was so unimpressive. Blends. Definitely overrated. Overhyped place. Glad I came during restaurant week and did not pay full price. The waiter was super nice though. The cafe outside has a completely different menu.
Great food, great service but noise level over the top!
All the restaurants at the Standard Highline hotel are terrific -- great service, great food and vibrant atmosphere!!
Atmosphere was great. Service was a little slow. Food was okay, nothing special.
From start to finish this was a superb experience the waitstaff was attentive and friendly, the food was excellent, they have special attention to their seafood items. We had a reservation for 7:30 but were courteously seated at 7:10. We certainly intend to come here again.
Great place! Everything was perfect!
Our waiter really made sure we were comfortable and took great care of us!
Excellent service and food!
Rocco is cooking at his best and the staff is top-notch
WE ate here several years ago, and were disappointed then, so I was concerned about hosting a birthday dinner for friends at Standard Grill. we were delightfully surprised at the total makeover of the restaurant. Chef Despirito has regained his place as a first class NY chef. the staff was particularly noteworthy, as our service was warm, engaging and professional.
great drinks. food was just ok this time. lobster roll nothing to write home about. waitress was nice, but she appeared miserable. not stellar. just did the bare minimum. ambiance is always nice. good place, but could be great.
Always great! 50 characters is more than I need to say
Best meal we've had in a while. Also impeccablr service.
Chef Rocco Dispirito is a genius. The menu is seasonal and every changing. Perfect balance of seeing certain “standard” favorites (pardon the pun) that you love to see and new dishes that you have not seen before. Have been there 8 times in the past six months and have left every single time thinking that I need to come back and try some of the other dishes on the menu. The meals are amazingly synergistic in that many of the dishes are so amazingly creative yet they all complement each other. One of the best restaurants that I have been to in a long time. Bravo!!
I hadn’t been to The Standard in about 3 years & I hate to say it, but overall, I was pretty disappointed with the food, service and menu selection. You can definitely tell there’s a new ‘cook’ in the kitchen!
Good food, extremely slow service. There were long gaps between courses and trying to flag down a server was a challenge throughout the meal. The restaurant was moderately busy but not filled to capacity.
Excellent creative food that compares well with the absolute best NY has to offer. Impeccable service and beautiful ambiance.
The Standard is a casual place that is priced like a fancy place. The noise level is so high that conversation is nearly impossible. The food was OK tho not great. I started w/ the tuna tatrtare which wasn't awful but was somewhat disappointing. Then I had the short ribs cooked sous vide. They were very tender and tasty to some degree but nothing special. They came w/ a pureed potato concoction that was virtually tasteless. My companion had the truffle risotto w/ shrimp. Completely uninteresting.
Service on the other hand was quite good. The chocolate mousse dessert was a major disappointment. And I like chocolate mousse. The room itself is not so great either. I doubt I would return to the Standard unless they raise their standard.
This is my third experience having a dinner in Standart Grill.I always live amazing hours.Service, food, ambiance and politeness of the hosting people and the service people also so nice..
Small, limited menu. No outside seating , dark old furniture. Over priced. Not gonna recommend ever ! Sorrry
