Waitstaff, as always, was attentive and fast. Burgers are amazing, grilled cheese with meat is the only sandwich we’ve had that is just average. The hush puppies are a must have. The frozen daiquiri flight is worth the visit alone.

Service was a little slow, waitress was in the back talking to other waitresses and took over 10 minutes to bring back two kids milk. The kids meals were over priced- 14 and there were two small mini pancakes, and some other things like a cookie and apples that my daughters didn’t enjoy. I expected more but was okay overall.

Our first time to State Fare, and we just loved it! We went on a busy Friday night, which accounts for the slower service. The place was slammed and it took our waiter extra time to get to us, but in the meantime, other servers stepped in and made the evening pleasant and smooth. The overall decor was charming and on-trend; however, the TV's were distracting and took away from the charm. If you like Goode Company gumbo, I do NOT recommend the east Texas style gumbo here. Opt instead for the seafood platter--crispy catfish, succulent shrimp and tasty tails! BEST PART WAS THE HUSH PUPPIES. They were so puffy, you could sleep on a bed of them!

Great lunch as always. I had the shrimp and andouille étouffée and my husband had the bacon praline pancakes. We both enjoyed our meals. He especially loved the smoked old fashioned. Mario, our waiter, was very pleasant and accommodating. After seeing me enjoying the Frose, he recommended the frozen flight and all the drinks were delicious.

The food was excellent, as always. But our server was maybe having a bad day or something. She didn’t introduce herself or offer to start us with drinks or an appetizer. She just walked up to the table and said, “Are you ready to order?” When our food came, the manager happened to walk by and noticed we didn’t have napkins and utensils, so she brought us some. After that, we never saw our server again until she cleared our dishes away, again never asking how we were doing. She never offered us drink refills, so I’m glad we had the standard carafe of water on the table. It was disappointing to say the least.

We got together for a friends get together, and overall, had an amazing time! For starters, the jalapeño hush puppies and farm board were so good! The food presentation was outstanding and everyone indulged as we were eating. The cocktails were also a plus….highly recommend for big groups, and best to make reservations!

This is our third time at State Fare. I am not a huge fan of chicken or country fried steak. However, the Cowboy Country Fried Ribeye is incredible. I order it every time with mash potatoes and green beans. The portion. Is huge. It is two meals. I am salivating thinking of the leftovers in the refrigerator for y tonight. I also recommend the Gumbo. Great, non-spicy Roux.

This was our first time eating at this location. The ambiance is very nice, open & clean. The hostess was a bit cold, manager was mostly unfriendly but the wait staff were great. The drinks were amazing & the food was meh… ordered fried shrimp po-boys & the bread was way too hard, perhaps using true New Orleans french bread would help. The shrimp & grits was delish. The kids grilled cheese was great & the fish & mash potatoes was not good (flavorless fish + cold mashed potatoes). The fried oreos WERE Amazing! I’ll be back for drinks but that’s probably it.

I ordered the Purist Mac & Cheese and added the “Gulf Trash” option. The shrimp definitely did not come from the gulf. It looked and tasted like those little shrimp that you would find in the frozen food section of Walmart. I kept finding shell pieces in the dish as well.

The restaurant was excellent for service and food was good. I enjoyed the Hopping John and the Mashed potatoes were truly smooth and creamy. The 'Birria grilled cheese with consommé is fabulous - tasty and sticks to the ribs sandwich. Highly recommend the wildberry pudding - a huge slice of awesomeness. The only negative was that one of the diners noticed something on the rafters. I have no problem with that and an employee came with a broom to fix/remove it. He tried to work around the diners. The employee worked carefully and no diners complained. However, I felt that a better alternative would have been to ask the diners to move for a couple of minutes while he cleared the problem. The problem was resolved quickly and did not detract from the dining experience.

We were greeted by a lady with who was friendly and smiled. Great start. Our server Matthew was friendly and attentive. Food was good. Chips were too salty. I suggest not adding salt in the kitchen and just the customer salt to taste. Experience was great. We recommend and will be coming back.
