Brilliant meal and excellent service all around. Great management and brilliant staff.
We had the lobster and the steak and never had lobster before.
We expected more from the lobster and lobster only, (more lobster meat in specific).
All other service was second-to-none and couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you.
Great food and place for a date. Given that their fries taste great, it’s amazing that they give an endless supply. Kind of price, buts a great place to go every once in a while.
Dreadful from the moment we arrived.
20 mins to be asked for a drink, 20 mins for the drink to arrive. Another 20 mins for our food order and then it arrived cold and not with sauces we asked for.
Complained to the manager and while we were complaining, a sauce arrived (this is 10 mins after the main arrived) but it was the wrong sauce. My daughter, having complained that her fries were cold, was then astonished that a huge bowl of piping hot fries was brought to our table. The manager's face was a picture.
Lobster overcooked and like a piece of rubber, steak cooked well but cold.
No communication between front of house and kitchen staff. The ordering system was a shambles.
They didn't even have my reservation on hand.
The restaurant was quite difficult to find. Turns out it's actually in the Radisson Blu hotel. There isn't a clear sign of the restaurant name. There wasn't a host to seat us, I had to walk up to the bar to ask for assistance. I got the sense that a lot of the staff were very new and had little idea of what's going on.
The food was mediocre, the steaks weren't much to shout about and the service took a very long time. They also got our orders mixed up, but very kindly replaced our order.
The steaks come with fries but they don't replace the fries with anything at all. Most places offer to swap for mash potatoes, more salad or any other sides.
Service was appalling, really long wait times and staff who didn’t care. When we eventually got the bill they had charged me for items that we didn’t order and even had the cheek to ask why I wanted to remove the discretion all service charge.
fiance and I visited to celebrate a year of being engaged. I had the 1 pound lobster and he had the t-bone steak. We shared chilli cheese bites and onion rings. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. The staff were very attentive and checked whether we required refillable fries etc during the meal. Towards the end we chatted with the staff and they informed us the restaurant is soon to close! Excitingly, it is to be replaced by a Japanese and Mexican restaurant! Very excited to try and will definitely revisit once it reopens!!!
I booked this resturant after tales of the great food from a friend, I decided to book it for mine and my girlfriends anniversary. True to what I was told the food was fantastic however the service is absolutely dreadful. Long wait times, they do "unlimited" fries/salad but you wont be approached by a server for 50+ minutes after you've gotten your food.
Overall after many mishaps, 4 different servers throughout the night and appauling service it was rectified by what seemed the hotel manager as when i requested the resturant manager the first person who spoke to me had been there one day and didn't know which cut the steak was from in the surf and turf, although he said it was beef.
9/10 Food. 1/10 Service.
Good service but overpriced food and not a reasonable variety. Asked my son what type of food he wanted for his birthday meal and his answer was steak and a lobster. Looked for somewhere that done both and found it. He had 2 main courses 2lb lobster meal then steak his total meal cost was £76 not inc drinks and there was a total of 7 in our party.
Difficult to find as we didn't realise it was inside the Radisson! Otherwise great service, lovely atmosphere
Food was as expected, nothing amazing. Terrible service had to repeatedly remind staff for drinks after waiting 25 minutes for the first drinks when seated. Then had a repeat for the 2nd round of drinks (there were only two of us so nothing too difficult) with a wait of around 20 minutes and only receiving them after reminding the waiters twice.
Had a table booked for 9pm, had to wait 15 minutes at the bar without being served just to be seated. Definitely wouldn't come back as the service ruined it.
Walked in then walked out staff uninterested like you was bothering them plus not straight forward to find.
Food could be good but didn’t stay to find out
We went to steak and lobster for the first time on Saturday to celebrate my gf birthday. I’ve previously eaten lobster at a few place but this was the least tasteful lobster I’ve ever had. I’m not sure wether it was because we arrived half an hour before the kitchen was closed but overall the food was poor! No season at all or sauce and the fries were all stuck together. My friend asked for medium steak which came out scorched. I can’t express how disappointed I was
The money I paid for the food and drink was not worth it at all. Would not recommend.
Good location, at the ground floor of hotel. Managed to find a road side parking right behind the restaurant. Food was good. Service was on point. Just that the shell of the lobster was way too hard... and it was served in a whole piece (not cracked). Strugggled a bit with that. Overall experience was good.
Gorgeous food with lovely staff. Perfect place to have my graduation meal
This was a meal to celebrate my boyfriends birthday, we had both always wanted to eat at Steak and Lobster and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Overall the food was delicious, we both ordered the surf and turf, we couldn’t fault it at all. We were alittle gutted we’d ordered extra sauces when they come with sauce already, luckily they weren’t to expensive. The overall appearance of the restaurant was disappointing, we were sat next to a table with rips and holes in the netting in the window!! We also felt the staff could have even better dressed, it all appeared alittle scruffy from what we thought was quite a decent restaurant, luckily the service was wonderful. We found it very difficult the locate the restaurant, there was no signs to show it’s location and we had to ask a few people, which was quite embarrassing, I suppose if it’s shutting down in 6 weeks they’ve given up advertising?
The 10% charge at the end of the meal was ridiculous, automatically added on? I feel this should have be optional, very cheeky and a high number on top of an already top price bill.
All this being said, this hasn’t stopped us from wanting to visit the London restaurant in the future. Thank you.
Very good but much prefer dining at lunch time as much more personal and in the original restaurant as that was much nicer. Food was excellent as always.
The service was terrible. Almost reminiscent of Faulty Towers
Poor service from start to finish, delayed in serving our mains course 45mins wait. Took over 20mins to have the correct drink ordered. No salt in the salt mill. Demonstrates basic checks never get done.
Would not recommend this restaurant. Lobsters aren't cheap, go to a restaurant that provides a good service to reflect their price.
The restaurant was empty and there was no real atmosphere to the place. The waiters were rude and a little slow to get things going. The food was lovely but I wouldn’t go back as there were many other areas that let the restaurant down.
Tried to call the restaurant and after 35 mins on hold noone answered. Arrived to the restaurant to be told the wrong information about the menu as this was for my graduation. After waiting another 15 mins.foe.aomeome to come over to us. Food came and looked lovely but my steak was cold. Overall service was terrible. No one said congratulations and didn't make the night feel special.
We were looked after really well from the moment we sat down. A little pricey but worth it for the quality of food provided. Would highly recommend
Absolutely love it in here would definitely recommend for whatever the occasion it. The food was amazing and delicious. The service was on point as well. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.
Had fabulous service and the food was fantastic the availability of endless fries and salad not necessary as the food was plenty no refills required. Would highly recommend for any occasion.
Nice food - good wine - steak excellent
No mention of any offers as seen on line -
Some building noise
The food was great, but the service was terrible. We were there for dinner and breakfast. It didn't improve at all. The waiting staff were miserable and unresponsive at dinner. Our waiter for breakfast forgot our drinks, didn't offer us toast and didn't bring any milk. When I asked for milk, a half empty jug was taken from a table that was being cleared and given to us.
The food was really nice, the service was really quick aswell. I would deff eat here again.
Went here for our wedding anniversary, really good quality food and great service. Sat by the large windows overlooking the street. Great for people watching!
Food was excellent, however the service was shockingly bad. Our waitress Mia was just awful. We tried to attract her attention for another drink, more fries and she basically ignored us. In the end I had to go and approach her for the bill as all attempts to attract her attention were futile. Shame really as we always go when in a Manchester and the service has always been great. Shan’t be returning unfortunately.
Lovely meal, friendly staff, good overall experience
Went here for my birthday and to celebrate an engagement. Steak was average but can cook same standard at home, peppercorn sauce was was watery, salad taste like leaves with vinegar, asked for grilled lobster got steamed and even that was average but it would of totally ruined the night to correct it.
As a Birthday gift, they put chocolate sauce on a wooden slab with a single strawberry cut into 3 for 4 people. Bill came to £150+
Staff were pleasant an the evening was brilliant start to finish, food was magic👌🏻
The food was amazing! No doubt about it. The staff were a bit unpleasant, however. My friend and I split 2 lbs of lobster plus an appetizer and drinks. The waitress was less than impressed for some reason with the fact that we weren’t ordering anymore. Made us very uncomfortable.
The time we went in was very quiet customer wise but had a large group in who was very loud. Also we could have ordered straight away but we was asked to wait which was too long for my liking. Food was great and decor wasn’t to my taste but food is what I went for which satisfied to cover both the steak and lobster areas. Was a special occasion as was in Manchester for one of my sons birthday presents and he seemed to enjoy.
Don’t put salt on the fries before they are served. Way too much in mine.
Great 👍 food ACE
lobster and fries.... this is not really want i would have thought for a lobster meal.
Good food and service. Was hoping it was going to be a little more refined given its in a 5 Star hotel and the prices but it does what it says and does it well. The only negative was my partner being directed into the hotel by staff for the restroom as there wasn’t one in the restaurant itself.
Great meal , with friendly service will look forward to returning
I booked to celebrate an anniversary. The service was excellent and friendly. The waitress was extremely helpful and asked if we were celebrating anything, after informing her it was out anniversary at the end of our amazing, perfectly cooked steak and lobster we were treated to a surprise beautifully decorated brownie as a anniversary token. My wife and I will definitely be coming back!
The waiting on staff were a little too keen,my date was still eating when they removed my plate as I had finished, this shouldn't be done until we were both finished as it put unnecessary pressure on her to speed up and finish. Also I could feel the staff hovering about near us as the restaurant was empty they were just a little to keen apart from that everything else was good
