Authentic Chinese Dim sum Restaurant
Freshly handmade Dim sum in our kitchen everyday.
Dim sum is a traditional Chinese Cantonese cuisine prepared as small bite-sized portions of food traditionally served in small steamer baskets or on small plates, perfect for sharing!
Steam does really excellent, fresh dim sum with some interesting options such as sea bass and fennel, as well as the usual varieties. We also had good crispy duck and the house wine is well priced and drinkable. Prices are reasonable too.
This is a lovely dim sum restaurant food was brilliant and it was a perfect “before show” dinner for us. Would highly recommend it!
This is now our choice for a pre-theatre meal. In this case, it wasn't theatre, but a k d lang gig at the Apollo.
Both the steamed and fried dumplings are excellent; really fresh, packed with flavour - and scalding hot!
A special rice, and seafood noodles were disappointingly bland.
Staff are very nice, and on a hot day, it was lovely to see bowls of iced water in front of a big fan.
Decent wine list.
Can’t comment as it was shut when we arrived despite having no notification and having received confirmation email from open table
Poor service. Food was just about edible. Range of food was limited. I wouldn't recommend this place.
Great basic Chinese food.
Amazing food, great prices and the service was unreal. Our server was on his own but he was beyond fab!
Went for most of the steamed goods here, which were really good quality. So much so we ordered a mini second round...and from this, we also got to see that you can over steam something. Still worth going for the multicoloured dumplings though.
Revisited my newly found local & very happy with their offering. All dishes look authentic & taste great. Their steamed dim sum selection in particular is worth trying out. I had dishes at Yauatcha that weren't as nice!
Good quality authentic food, recommend for dim sum lovers
We really enjoyed the variety of dumplings they had. Hope they will introduce som weekly offers in order to attract more customers.
Perfectly ok local Chinese - good steamed dumplings. Rest pretty run of the mill.
It will be sad to see this restaurant disappear. However, for a business sense, it will go.
The place, though being fantastic, has a serious lack of marketing identities and didn't live up to the memorable service standard. The restaurant looked like any fine-dining with the food to match. The local demographics are not. Almost all of the punters were discouraged upon reading the menu and peeking through the restaurant.
The menu will only attract those who are in the know. Unfortunately, this is not the area and the type of restaurant the Chinese or Asian or sophisticated local will frequently visit. Those who live around do not either understand the ingredients, the fine skills and the taste which subsequently comes after. Their prices are the highest among the restaurants in the neighbourhood. Very bad chain of events.
The waitress had a very poor communication skill. She could speak English very well but could not convey either the message, let alone leaving a hospitable impression. Put it bluntly, you can't run a fine-dining restaurant using typical Chinese staffs from China Town. It was a major crash of cultures.
I really like the restaurant. Will try to go there more often- before it disappears.
The food was delicious. We loved it.
Outstanding dim sum. All our favourite dumplings steamed to perfection. The best soft shelled crab we have ever tasted. Great menu and attentive service.
Not a swish ambience but clean and neat. Seems to do a great take away/delivery business so good for locals.
Excellent as always. We only ever have the dim sum but can’t get enough of them!!
Decent dim sum menu. Service was a bit patchy. Seem to be a favourite with Delivery services, which is a good sign - but detracts from seated customer service sometimes. Overall pretty good. Food arrived promptly.
came for an early pre theatre meal. excellent food , great service. food portions a bit on the small side, but the quality & freshness 7 taste were perfect.
I live in Shepherd's Bush and work in Hammersmith and I have been to this place several times. This week I had a business lunch to organise to welcome a new colleague and I recommended here. Did not disappoint, always great quality and great tasting Chinese food! Some really great dim sum combinations and flavours and a few main meals as well if that's what you really want at the end of the day.
Interior is more diner than restaurant, food was good and served quickly.
Great dim sum
Great flavours and lot of dumplings!
I really enjoyed it and would definitely go back
Another OpenTable 'find'.
We hadn't been to this area for a while, and wanted a pre-theatre meal.
The menu is great; dim sum was fresh, full of flavour - and very hot! Steaming, in fact........
Service was personal and welcoming.
We need to find more excuses to come back to Hammersmith.
Great place in Hammersmith. The food is very good and definitely coming back there soon!
Great food, great service, great price, great atmosphere. It was great
Surprisingly good food. The price is not expensive, but not as cheep as other places of similar quality - portions also a little on the small side. But good to find a good quality place that does DimSum all day in West London.
On our visit the restaurant was a bit empty which reduced the ambiance. The restaurant is otherwise nice.
This is a basic restaurant but the food is very goid and freshly made and a decent wine list. Strangely aktgough they have quite a few tyoes of rice there is no egg fried rice and no dessert. It lacks ambience but service is friendly and we would go back for the food.
Lovely food, reasonably priced and good service. Great for casual meal.
Excellent food, friendly and attentive service. Would recommend to any fan of Chinese especially Dim Sum.
We’ve booked a table for 3pm through the app an when we were on our way to the restaurant they called us saying that the kitchen was close at this time. Really bad customer service if they offer hours to book when the kitchen is closed....they should update it or at least inform with more time in advance....
Very fresh food and good service, we had a great meal.
We travelled from East London to get to Steam in our quest for innovative dumplings and were not disappointed. The quality, creaitvity and taste of the Dim Sum on offer rivalled much more expensive establishments in Mayfair and the West End at a fraction of the price. The ambience is cosy and basic but clean. The owner was very chatty and proud of his restaurant which makes a change from the 'traditional' service found in Dim Sum restaurants.
Looks like it has been recently refurbished, or is just new. Very quiet when we went in (6pm on Friday evening before attending a concert at The Apollo). But, food was excellent and we enjoyed dour meal. I would go again.
Amazing amazing dumplings and small plates. Freshly made.
Great honest food in a world of pre-made frozen dumplings often served in other restaurants.
Very good value for money. No frills ambience.
Fifth visit to Steam....awesome DimSum and main courses....extra extra special!
A cosy little place ..cafe style so no pretences. However food was delicious and fresh. Vegetarian options available although limited. Food arrived quickly but the restaurant was very quiet...!
The food here is so delicious. It is so hard to find good dumplings in London. This is one of the best dim sum places in the city! The prawn dumplings were scrumptious.
First time visit. Excellent food & good service. Just round the corner from the Apollo
What a gem! Authentic delicious dim sum.
