First and second courses are available in a classic diner setting, and Stelvio's professional staff members offer high-end wine to be paired with any of the delectable meals. Enjoy a first and second course of pasta with a home made dessert.
The Ambience was amazing, the food was ok, very quite and service was amazing.
Service was rushed. Seats on the wall side were very uncomfortable - all the tables on the east side were chattering about the same thing. PLEASE INVEST IN SOME SOUNDPROOFING - the volume was impossible to hear each-other with. Our server couldn't even hear what we were ordering so the food that came out wasn't all correct.
Absolutely loved our experience. Food was excellent and server was very knowledgeable about the menu. We made our choices based on his recos and it was delicious.
Best risotto in the city, great quality ingredients used in the recipes! Desserts and coffee were amazing as well!
My first visit to Stelvio was memorable for many reasons. The staff was warm and inviting from the very beginning as well as being helpful and knowledgeable about items on the menu. The food was delivered to the table hot and you can tell all the ingredients are well sourced and fresh. We enjoyed a delicious bottle of Dissegna cabernet franc, the suggestion of the waitress. The occasion was a going away dinner and Stelvio was the perfect choice. Pasta is made in house and the gnocchi was like little pillows melting in our mouths. The only thing that could be improved upon was the desert, the tiramisu was not the best one I've tasted and I'd like a few more options like maybe a panna cotta. Overall the evening was fantastic and I cannot wait to return.
We sat at the bar and we had excellent service from our waiter, she was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and a pleasant personality. The simplicity of the menu tells you a lot about the quality of the food, which is great. I’m glad they moved out of the Queen Street location as it didn’t fit the vibe and quality of the restaurant. Resto was full on Saturday night. They could use some artwork to absorb/dampen the noise which can get loud at times depending on the crowd. Two thumbs up!!
Loved the decor, the ambiance, the food, the wines, the friendly service. Will come have dinner again the next time we're in Toronto.
PS: you need to add the Tiramisu to the permanent menu. It was sublime.
Food was good, although we were left alone for majority of our meal. One waiter (who wasn’t our waiter) was great - asking periodically if we needed anything. The bottle of wine we purchased - was poured by us all night.
The restaurant was quiet - so mid meal the waiters began mopping the back of the bar at 10pm - so the whole restaurant smelled like cleaning products. Two tables were still eating. We felt rushed, so quickly finished our desert & wine and left. It just felt like everyone wanted to leave - so the $200 cheque felt steeper than it should have.
Server missed entering our appetizers- cane 25 mins to ask for order when already had given it to him, ehen we askes for dinner menu he went to back with oir dinnet dishes and we coild see him eating and dribking water - we asked the bar tender for a dessert menu. The bartender was wonderful and very attentive. Food was ok wanst amazing but decent.
Very attentive service; excellent food
Locale consigliatoci da un amico, abbiamo mangiato davvero bene, i salumi i pizzoccheri e il riso con ossobuco top!
Consiglio di andarci se passate per Toronto.
What a great restaurant.
The food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient.
We were looked after by the restaurant manager and she was chatty and happy to help with anything we needed.
The wine list was a little pricey but it was nice wine.
pricey but good nice art friendly staff. Food great but small helpings
The food portion was small. The food was also very salty. We could not finish them because it was hurting the throat. Service was okay. The server was polite but did not ask if our food was okay. Environment was nice though. Overall will not recommend our friends and family to come
Wonderful food, service and ambiance however, way too noisy! Is there a way to bring the noise level down?
This was our first visit, the food was very good and the service was friendly and attentive. For a Saturday night it was quiet with only 8-10 other diners. The lighting was all wrong with too many hanging ceiling lights which did not add any warm dining ambience. The food was good, but no atmosphere or buzz about the restaurant.
just awesome - a great addition to Dundas West and frankly a pomodoro sauce that i think is unmatched in my experience in the city.
It was great only thing is smaller portions than I thought.
Great staff. Good Italian food. High quality. The products are cooked with the right Italian touched. Will come back.
Waited 1.5 hrs for our entrees, only to find out our server forgot to put my order in. It was over 2 hrs until I got my main. Unfortunate because the space is beautiful! And food was amazing.
I love this place!!
Average Italian fare. Very nice restaurant with average pasta.
Really good date spot, food was very good, very authentic
Amazing! The whole experience is delightful. The food is superb, tasteful, comfy. The staff is the most amicable. I’m a fan of their cuisine style and the place is gorgeous! We’ll come back for sure.
While the food was good, the service was inattentive. A member of my party had to leave the table and find a server to place a wine order with the pasta course, even though they were just at the table with all empty cocktail glasses and left before we were able to make an order.
Then plates were left dirty and empty on the table only to be cleared upon request. The servers cleared an empty table, with no one sitting at it, before they cleared out table - a table with actual guests at it. I was shocked.
I also had to ask for a napkin at the dessert service, as it was not replaced after the mains. If this was a diner, no problem. But at this price point, I expected better.
I’ve spent years in the service industry. I was taught to clear empty plates, glasses, check on drinks to be refilled, replace linens, cutlery, check in on quality of food. None of which happened.
At the price point of this restaurant, there was an expectation of far better service. It’s possible. I’ve received impeccable service and restaurant across the city with the same price point. It was disappointing.
It’s my opinion that dining out is not just about the food but the entire experience. The food was fine. Fine. The service was not fine.
Dinner was great , the food was amazing .. the service a little messy ... We had to clear our own plates and our waitress kept going in and out of an affected Italian accent (which was weird but kept us entertained, overall I highly recommend it .
The pasta was unbelievably amazing. One of the best pastas in the city. I wish the pasta servings were just a little larger but I should have just ordered three dishes and skipped the meat. Great restaurant!
Delightful staff, amazing food.
Great new location which adds to the vibe .. excellent food although value is questionable. Good wine list but all rather expensive.
Great ambiance, wonderful staff and fantastic food.
Service was really great! The pasta we had was delicious! My only comment would be that they need more appetizer options and/or vegetable dishes on the menu. I understand that Northern Italy has centred around meat, but I think it would be nice to have some lighter options as well. Overall, great place to experience authentic Italian pasta and Gnocchi!
The food here was incredible--my boyfriend is from northern Italy and just kept saying "wow, this is exactly how my grandma/mom makes this." The prices were a bit high, especially considering how small the portions were, but I would still go back.
My friends and I went here last weekend when I flew in to celebrate the Raptors world championship, and what a way to kick off my weekend! The place is so cute and chic. The food is amazing! But more than both of those, the service is INCREDIBLE! Our server Dorian was a gem--helped us navigate the menu, was patient, kind and funny. The rest of the staff was just as awesome! They were all approachable, fun, and helpful! I HIGHLY recommend this place and cannot wait to go back!
Great food / small portions
Food was very slow to come out. Owner comped for cold food but still doesn’t make sense it takes over an hour for pasta. Portions are small.
It was delicious! We ordered super heavy items, so brought a lot of it home! We got this amazing arugula, fennel, guanciale, scallion/shallot and hard cheese salad to start that was out of this world, even for a salad. We got the pizzocheri too, which was AWESOME! My partner loved it, totally different from any other pasta dish he'd had before. We also got their Risotto Milanese, which was a cheesy saffron risotto with veal osso bucco. It was heavy, but so delicious! Definitely a different order for us, but such a treat! I want to go back and try more off the menu, like the sciatt and their gnocchi look out of this world, as well as their polenta dishes. Ambiance and decor are welcoming and somehow rustic, urban and modern at the same time. It was a nice place – lots of Italian spoken by the guests, which is a good sign! I’m looking forward to going back! Wine menu was authentic, though a bit expensive. Had an excellent bottle of Nebbiolo that went perfectly with the food. Really enjoyed! Service was excellent too! They were really patient with us, especially when it took my partner longer than anticipated to get to the restaurant, taking their time to serve as we ate slowly, checking in a nice amount and making sure everything was good.
