We had a 3 course meal and were both very pleased with it. Especially the starter was delicious. We recommend and definitely come again
Stand out dishes were the belly bacon and feather blade beef. All food was superb.
This was the second time we’d made it to a restaurant this year (the first visit was also to the Sticky Walnut) and it was everything we’d been looking forward to and more. We honestly couldn’t fault a single part of the evening, a friendly and warm welcome, everything felt safe, the menu was to die for - we mulled over our choices for ages and eventually settled on the UNBELIEVABLE Smoked Bacon with watermelon and peanut sauce (ummm a sensation!), the pâté (not a crumb left on the plate) and the roasted Beetroot with Ricotta (giving us massive food envy). This was followed by the Roast Turkey, Stonebass and the melt in the mouth Featherblade of Beef - and we have to give the truffle Parmesan chips a call out here *chefs kiss*
At this point we were so full, but not full enough to turn down a dessert - the Creme Brûlée is the best I’ve ever had (I cheekily asked for a scoop of the Rose Water ice cream on the side too - SO delicious), the Choux bun and ginger ice cream, the cheese and truffled honey - GAaaah! SO SO GOOD!
All of this was washed down with a bottle of fizz (‘tis Christmas after all) and a few glasses of the red ‘wine of the week’ - again, delicious and faultless.
Our waitress was a delight, everything flowed to the table at quick but not rushed pace, we were happy and stuffed and so glad that our venture out was worth it.
The bill came and I’d have happily paid twice as much.
Massive compliments to the chef(s) and front of house team, an absolute credit. So sorry to see you’ll have to close your doors once again, we can’t wait to come back and see you soon in hopefully, a brighter and more stable 2021.
A fantastic meal, the 3 course lunch time menu definitely value for money. Excellent service and didn't feel rushed at all. A lovely place to celebrate.

Just a really lovely experience overall couldn't ask for a better treat.
Perfect pre-Christmas treat! Cocktails were lovely, as were both starters - our server was extremely helpful in providing her opinion when I couldn’t choose between the crottin and the squash to start. I’m so happy I took her recommendation to try the crottin - it was gorgeous! Both mains - the feather blade and the stone bass were cooked to perfection. The choux bun was completely unnecessary as we were both full but having read about it we just had to try and I am glad we did.. heaven on a plate. Can’t wait to come back soon, love what you do! Side note: very Covid safe, we felt super comfortable during our entire visit.

Interesting and varied menu - we tried some new flavour combinations and were impressed. Comfortable layout and excellent service. It was our first visit and we will be back.

Relaxed, looked after with great service from everyone, lovely food and wine and great to be back. We’ve missed being able to come here and our return was everything we hoped for. We try to eat here regularly and this is the first time we followed the food with the individual wine recommendations. We will be doing that again!!! - it really made the dinner more enjoyable and interesting. The food was all fabulous and the portions aren’t shy to say the least.

Food is amazing, staff so friendly and the general vibe is just great.
The pork belly and liver pâté were absolutely delicious. Both dinner partner and I had the feather blade steak which was beautifully cooked. My partner had a jus whilst I had the sauce and black tomato ketchup as described on the menu. My steak was too generously covered in a black sauce. I would have preferred sauce in a pot so I could add the amount I wanted. I just couldn’t taste the steak. The also black tomato ketchup was delicious. But there was way too much of it and way too rich together and too much black. Dessert was Parkin with butterscotch sauce which was delicious and I had the rose water ice cream (perfect), just slightly too little lemon sauce and the cookie was also perfect but perhaps half the size would have been nicer.
Our servers were just the right amount of attentive. My partner remarked the person who brought our dinner was different from the one who took our order but knew whose meal belonged to whom. Nice touch although one might expect that at such a good rests.
So a few tweaks would have earned a 5 star review.

Food was excellent, drinks not so. No decent beer and that available was very overpriced. £5 for a 330ml can of pretentious IPA, not good value at all.
