I would definitely recommend the Wigwam at Stoke Place. It’s designed so beautifully and has amazing reviews.
Just make sure you don’t get placed next to the open fire which smokes out ashes everywhere! Once we flagged this to a second staff member, he kindly offered us another table.
Lovely seating with the wigwam and surrounding grounds. Food also delicious.
Only first week of opening and staff did not seem to be clear on their service areas etc. Had to ask several
Times for someone to take our order then waited a long time. Just needs to be better organised.
But love the wigwam
Magical!! Absolutely loved the wigwam, the pizza and the chocolate fondue!!! Definitely going back!
Great & Covid secure way to spend a few hours in the sunshine with friends
Fantastic evening in beautiful surroundings, only wish we could’ve stayed longer.
Staff were really pleasant and helpful, very beautiful place
Christmas with my friend
The wigwam was cute, the food was nice, but it felt a bit like afternoon tea at the local garden centre. Service was excellent.
The wigwam was lovely and had a wonderful ambience. It was warm and cosy. Our South African waiter was friendly and attentive. When he left his shift we were overlooked and had to get up out of our seats to request service, bill etc. We waited a while at that point despite it not being hugely busy.
It was perfect
The food was poor and over-priced. We will not be back.
Such a lovely venue for a Christmas lunch out. The children and adults were all impressed with the festive feel in the wigwam. The service was superb, yummy lunches and so nice to hear the DJ after such a tough year. Really would recommend to anyone looking for a festive location.
Kicked off our table after a hour of being there. Last in and the first out. Was told after we paid to finish drinks at the bar where we was unable to get more drinks due to already paying the bill. Was then told we could have our table back to start a new tab...
Great setting for a birthday celebration, very good food and excellent service.
It was very unique and special.
Service was good
Food was mediocre
Expensive for quality of food
The wigwam is so beautiful and felt so magical. The food wasn’t great and the service was slow but I would still go again just for the atmosphere.
The wigwam was very festive and warm . The food was really really over priced for what it was and service wasn’t great . Glad we went to experience it but wouldn’t go back . £150 for basically 5 burgers and chips!
It was a wonderful evening. Great food. Great staff.
Only negative is the access. It’s not disabled friendly. The hotel in its self. From the drive to the interior was not great for John who is not strong in his legs and the steps out into the garden are steep.
Other than that we had a wonderful evening. Many thanks.
Disappointing. Venue is gorgeous and the wigwam itself has a good ambience and is a great idea. BUT. most of the Christmas lights were faulty. Food was bar food at best, and overall very expensive. So wanted this to be amazing but just can't score it higher I'm afraid
The service was outstanding, a really lovely experience. Thank you.
It was an amazing concept but service was really slow and they kept forgetting our order
Nice concept, food basic and very salty and be sure to wrap up warm, it is a bit fresh inside. Lovely Christmas decorations.
What a lovely place very nice when it's open again defo going bk
Dear JamesT, Thank you for your kind words. We definately look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Amazing... love it just booked my 3rd time there.
Dear LauranW, So looking forward to welcoming you back for the fourth time. :-)
Don't bother. Limited menu, poor service and freezing cold ..we booked for 8 o clock and were seated at 8.45..it took 30 minutes for the wine to arrive. Nice concept but they need to put more effort aesthetically , more heaters ( we dined with our coats on), more staff and training and work on the menu.
Dear jask, I am truly sorry they Wigwam was not to your liking. We have two gas heaters, a huge firepit and also a hot air blower on at all times. Unfortunately the only menu available is the Wigwam menu which we was received so much praise for. Hopefully looking forward to welcoming you back soon.
Waited 45mins to be seated for a pre booked table, starters were forgotten and drinks arrived late
The Wigwam is lovely, very magical in a lovely Winter Wonderland type of way. We went on the first cold night since it opened and heating was not on except 2 outdoor heater so we were cold. Imagine they will fix that going forward.
The menu was fun, wintery and good value. I had a bit too much cheese with fondue and pizza but enjoyed it.
It had only been open a few days so am putting the slow service down to teething problems. Kitchen and bar is a way away from the wigwam. They could do with having a stocked bar in the tent. Nobody minds waiting a bit if they already have a drink. I'm sure this will improve.
Good fun and nice place to meet friends outside!
Hi BevP, Thank you for your kind review. We added extra staff so drinks are coming out a lot quicker than before. Looking forward to having you back
We had a great pre-post lockdown v.2 meal here celebrating a family anniversary. Lovely Cheese & Chocolate Fondue, lovely cosy atmosphere although could of been a bit warmer, staff are amazing, great service!
Maybe worth increasing the music repertoire so that the same songs are not on a constant repeat LOL :-)
Looking forward to going back!
Dear CarlyR, Thank you for your kind words. Since you were there we closed off the entrance to the wigwam to make it even warmer. Looking forward to seeing you in the future
Great concept and amazing service and ambience :) THANK YOU
Dear KerryS, So glad you had a lovely time in the Wigwam. Look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Absolutely brilliant, the wigwam was magical, the service was brilliant and the food was WOW would highly recommend and cannot wait to go back!
Dear lucyC Thank you for such kind words. My team and I were thrilled to read you and your party had such a great time.
Great dinner lovely experience, will definitely visit after lockdown
Hi Kylie, Thank you for your amazing review. Looking forward to seeing you soon in the near future
I went with a group of friends for birthday celebrations at the Winter Wigwam and it was so lovely! We had a beautiful dinner and delicious cocktails!
Dear RebeccaS, So glad you all had a fantastic birthday celebration together. I've passed on your kind words for all my team to enjoy.
We visited for a birthday afternoon tea. The setting was beautiful, staff very attentive and the afternoon tea - delicious. A perfect way to spend the afternoon. Very relaxing and the hotel also have beautiful grounds to walk around to help work up an appetite or burn off a few calories. We visited during the eat out to help our scheme, so exceptional value, but even at full price, I’d consider it excellent value for money. Every cake, scone and sandwich was amazing, compliments to the chef.
Good food but frustrating service. Having been seated, we then had to go up and ask for menus to which we were then questioned as to whether we even had a reservation. Staff seem overworked.
I enjoyed catching up with a friend in beautiful surroundings. Luckily it was sunny, so we enjoyed an alfresco lunch, the grounds are amazing. We will definitely return in the summer, this place is a hidden gem. Service and the food was great. Relaxed informal dining in a stunning setting.
