Stonemasons Arms Ratings and Reviews
Enjoyed the meal emensly, I had the pork belly, beautifully done, their were three of us, and all meals received top marks, had a nice surprise when I received the bill, as they were offering a discount on meals up till the 4th February, which I did not know beforehand, so a great gesture, many thanks alround.
Whilst out shopping in Timperley Village, we noticed that the Stonemasons had been refurbished and popped in for brunch. The refurbishment did not disappoint and the food was really good, so good that I booked a table the following week for lunch with some friends. We all had different starters but the homemade parsley and truffle soup with crumpet was the stand out dish. This was followed by a Sunday lunch and was delicious. It was a good portion, it was served hot and everything was cooked to perfection. I finished the meal with a praline cheesecake which was to die for! The staff were attentive and friendly which just added to a great dining out experience. This restaurant and the food it serves is so good that I am going back again next week for my birthday! Highly recommended.
i went in within the first week of opening to look at the meal prices and the decor they have done a fantastic refurbishment the prices of the food is expensive we went in january for my wifes birthday because all the food was half price and more affordable i'm not tight with my money but i like to spend my money wisely the food was fantastic would definitely go again at those prices
Great food, most of them had sandwiches but l had a prawn salad and everything was good. Bread for sandwiches could of been a little thinner but that’s all. Our server was very chatty (think her name was Rachel) and nothing was too much trouble. I have been several times since the opening, especially this month as 50% off food offer!
Hope you will be putting some kind of play area outside for the summer as l am sure you will attract families. All in all, great pub in our village!
Shame they have changed the menu as my husband was really looking forward to the onglett steak but it was not on the new menu. I was looking forward to the avocado salad with prawns but unfortunately that had been taken off too, what we did have was delicious and good value as it was 50% off all food.
Recently renovated, I was looking forward to eating there having previously only popped in for a drink. The 50% off was a bonus and the menu was interesting with plenty of choice and some firm favourites. Service and food excellent but the interior decor has no warmth and lacks detail and ambience. It's as if they are waiting for the finishing touches to arrive. They have a promising outdoor space for the warmer weather which should be an attraction.
Went for the first time since reopening and was impressed by the refurb and look forward to the beer garden in the summer!
The pricing is quite expensive for a local pub/restaurant but we took advantage of the 50% off food in January offer so was good value on that basis! Had a couple of issues with the starters but waitress soon sorted it out and she was most helpful all evening. Drinks quite expensive and no house wine as such - cheapest £20 a bottle.
Will go again - hoping the new menu from February will have revised prices more fitting for the location but overall, good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
My hubby and me had lovely service a great waitress served us.Sorry I didn't take note of her name,Ooops.
Our mains of salt beef was a bit disappointing but the horseradish mash was fab.We found the meat chewy. The deserts were amazing. My vegan fruits with jus was outstanding.
I want to try it again for food but I'm gluten free and there wasn't too much choice on the menu.
On a positive note it's fab that we finally have a decent pub in Timperley and it's great for drinks. My hubby wants to try the fish and chips so we will be back☺
Friendly, helpful staff on arrival. Tasteful decor. Quite good choices on the menu. Good quality food and good portion sizes. A little pricey but you are paying for good produce. The chicken livers to start were very tasty and so was the rump of lamb as a main. Unfortunately, the potatoes were very undercooked and hard, this did let the meal down. Hank, our waiter was attentive, warm and friendly with a good sense of humour. This is our second visit. The first was two weeks ago, the day after the opening. Sunday lunch was the best we have had in a long time. Delicious, fresh and cooked to our liking. It was made traditionally, rather than adding lots of unnecessary flavours. We would like to try the pizzas, but hoping for some inspiring toppings to be added to the menu as the current ones are not doing it for us. As whole, a good experience and would highly recommend.
Felt sorry for the doorman. It was freezing cold outside. The food took ages to arrive, about 45 mins and the place was not that busy. The food was very nice. The noise was awful. Just people talking. Was glad to leave immediately after the meal. The staff were lovely.
Opening night, much busier than expected it would be on a normal evening, staff performed really well even though under high stress levels, menus a bit limited & more expensive than had expected because all veg/salad extra & the drinks seemed expensive too for a local community pub.
Two pints of beer & one bottle of Presecco was £40! & we had five rounds!!
Difficult to review this as overall the food we had was outstanding. However, the menu was significantly reduced from the week before when we had a great meal. We were given a number of reasons / excuses why this was the case. But the food we actually chose was really good. Service was brilliant too from a waitress with a difficult job. The cost of our wine was knocked off the bill as a gesture of goodwill which was appreciated. I think that this is a great restaurant for Timperley, if perhaps a little pricey.
We ate there on the 2nd January, so I was a little disappointed to receive a promotional e-mail today (4th) giving 50% of throughout the month.
Overall though, I like it. Hopefully the teething problems / holiday season issues will be sorted soon enough.
Enjoyed the quality of the food, however thought it was expensive for what we had. Couldn't believe the cheapest rose wine was £27 for the bottle. Fish and chips £12, smallest ever fish and only a cup full of chips. Didn't have starters or dessert due to the price.
It would be nice to see a set menu offer.
Will visit again as live in timperley but will likely be for brunch menu and not an evening meal due to value for money.
It was so bad that we sent our cold food back and I was dismayed that they could send out frozen chips let alone undercooked ones. I thought they had employed a top chef. We have been offered a free return meal we won’t be taking them up on the offer it was so disappointing
