good value Sunday lunch with excellent customer service
Disappointing. Food not great and only one drinks order taken. Asked to move from our table after we ate and said we could drink at the bar when asked for another drink. Not enough space to comfortably sit at the bar to continue our catch up.
Really nice pub, serving home-cooked food that’s actually cooked by chefs that know what they’re doing, using ingredients that are clearly well-sourced, and served by friendly staff that are on top of their game! Have recommended this pub to many friends already. Thank you for another excellent meal out 👍
Lovely dinner. Food excellent and waitress very helpful and attentive.
Food was lovely but I was disappointed with the ambience (or lack of). After all the online comments following the refurbishment I was expecting something a bit more upmarket to reflect the prices. It looks like the same pub to me with a different coat of paint.
Great service from booking the table through to leaving the place. Family friendly with excellent menu - something for everyone. Kids menu has a great variety and very decent portion. Food is freshly made and really tasty. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. This was a second visit. I would definitely recommend and will visit again myself.
The food is great. The service is excellent. Will definitely be returning
Was really looking forward to this Sunday lunch as we had heard that they had overcome their teething problems. The place was fairly busy but not packed. We had quite a wait for the food, around 45 minutes plus, and when it arrived it was average. A sparse lamb dinner (the meat was tough and chewy) made to look larger with the addition of a Yorkshire pudding. Wasn't worth £14 per head. There are other places locally that you can get the same quality for half the price. Just glad we didn't bother with wine, which would have come in at around £28 a bottle. Shame really, because the place has been renovated to a good standard. We aren't big complainers, we talk with our feet, won't be going again.
Very reasonable prices. Waitress was outstanding. Lovely Sunday dinner. Yorkshire puds weren't great but desserts amazing
I love the Stonemasons Arms and have eaten there on several occasions. The food is always of a high standard and the service excellent. I enjoy a good wine and the choice is reasonable but quite expensive compared to similar restaurants in Altrincham. Also, I’d like to see a bit more choice on the menu but I can highly recommend the ribeye!
Excellent food and the waitress was lovely, blonde lady from Czech Republic. She took the time to engage in conversation with all tables and made it a special experience. Service a little slow , we had to ask twice for our drinks other than that a great experience. We went for mother’s day and had 3 courses for £22 each including prosecco which was really good value for money.
Mother’s Day meal. Unbelievable service it was fantastic. The food was brilliant and enjoyable. Great offer of 2 or 3 set meals for the day.
Drinks a little expensive be great all round
Overall very good, service a bit slow. Service staff very pleasant and hospitable. Wine a bit on the expensive side.
Arrived to be told that the pizza oven wasn’t fired up because it was outside and pizzas would be cold by the time they brought them to us ?!
This took out nearly half the menu.
Mashed potatoe was wet and sloppy and tasteless. Chips were good and Chicken Caesar Salad was good.
Overall the food was pretty disappointing.
The refurbishment is disappointing and appears to have been done on the cheap. The old windows frames are still there with lashings of gloss paint, as is the single glazing. The internal cladding has been painted dark blue, but poorly painted as the bare would can still be seen at the joins. Either that or since the wood has shrunk they haven’t bothered to touch it up.
Overall, probably Ok for a lunch but disappointing for an evening meal.
Convenient location, good layout and decor, food good, staff were very good, little overpriced for pub meals but good quality
I have been trying to book a table for weeks now but you have been fully booked. When myself, my husband and teenage daughter finally got a table for Sunday dinner we were blown away by the quality of the food! It is the nicest roast dinner we have had in a long tine. Thank you. We will definitely be returning!
I've been to the recently refurbished pud three times now, and each time I've experienced the same excellent level of service and the food/menu is also fantastic
It's also worth mentioning that one of my visits was with my 8 and 9 year old, and we experienced a super child friendly experience.
Beer is great, and the ambience is like something I didn't think I'd ever see in that pub. The owners have done a fantastic job of turning it around in every aspect and rightly deserve the plaudits they're receiving.
Really looking forward to the summer, to sit in the excellent rear green space and to sample the pizza's from the outdoor pizza oven.
I love the new Stonemasons and it’s great that it’s located in Timperley village. I’ve been several times now and each time the food has been excellent and the service first class. It’s a good menu and you can clearly see the influence the chef has on the choice and standard. The choice of wine is good too so it’s gets a big tick from me all round!
We ate at the Stonemasons twice this week - a busy Friday evening and a quieter Tuesday evening meal. The setting is lovely - comfortable, warm, modern yet ambient. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. However the food was very, very slow to arrive - this may be understandable on a busy Friday, and indeed we did not mind on this occasion as we were in no rush, and drinks were flowing. On the Tuesday evening however, the food was even slower to arrive (with only a few other small tables eating) and some of it was cold when it finally came out. We would have complained if we were not so hungry at this stage! The children's dishes were a microwaved mac-n-cheese and a minimal falafel salad (which arrived without the eagerly awaited black olives to great disappointment) - both should have taken less than 5 mins to prepare, but arrived about an hour and a half after we ordered despite us asking for kids' meals to be brought as soon as possible. We were not impatient, and in general happy to wait for good food, but this was visit was disappointing. Having said that, the food was overall a better quality than you can get anywhere else in Timperley, despite the blip of some of it being served cold, and I think the Stonemasons has potential to be lovely if it can get its house in order. So as a local family, who have been holding out for a decent eatery, we hope that the slow service is just a teething problem. We will give it another go in time. Come on Stonemasons team, we are all counting on you to provide a decent destination for locals to eat and drink!
Really friendly efficient service and a lovely Sunday roast. Drinks v good too
Excellent food and service. A great local asset.
Nice draft beers :)
Lovely food and service
3 generations for a family Sunday lunch. Three courses with drinks and not one complaint. Amazing !
The evening was very enjoyable with good service and great food.
The Stonemasons looks great after its smart refurb. They have a good beer selection. The staff made out family feel at home with crayons and colouring sheets for the kids. We all enjoyed our food.
No kids and a night out with the wife. Very nice place. Relaxing with a good selection of wine/beers and a good menu with tasty food. Looking forward to the summer.
Great food and service. Eaten here a few times since it opened and consistently good with friendly service.
Good variety of food, restaurant standard. Friendly attentive staff, good value for money
Enjoyed the meal emensly, I had the pork belly, beautifully done, their were three of us, and all meals received top marks, had a nice surprise when I received the bill, as they were offering a discount on meals up till the 4th February, which I did not know beforehand, so a great gesture, many thanks alround.
This place is still finding its way! The idea is a good one, good quality food in a nice pub with a good drinks menu. It should do well in Timperley, however it needs a lot of work. Here is the low down...
Kids hummus was not smooth and it had a spice in it so they didn’t eat it!
Mains took 1hr 10 to arrive, one pizza base was very well done/burnt but edible, not enjoyable, ox cheek was ok, but would not want it again, and Kids Mac and cheese was somewhat bland. The goats cheese and beetroot salad was good, looked great and delivered on flavour! This was the bast plate of food we had Would have this again! Did not hang around for desert as it had gone dark outside and just wanted to get home! Drinks menu is great! Something for everyone and made really well, apart from the kids ice cream milkshake which came is a tumbler and was a bit of an anti climax. The front of house staff were great and made a really good effort, however for this pub to do well, and I hope it’s does, the food has to be outstanding, blow you away good, to make it good value and come quickly to the table. If it was not already 50% off food, I would have been negotiating the bill on this occasion. I genuinely wish this place well, and hope it does better in the comming 12 months!
Shame they have changed the menu as my husband was really looking forward to the onglett steak but it was not on the new menu. I was looking forward to the avocado salad with prawns but unfortunately that had been taken off too, what we did have was delicious and good value as it was 50% off all food.
Recently renovated, I was looking forward to eating there having previously only popped in for a drink. The 50% off was a bonus and the menu was interesting with plenty of choice and some firm favourites. Service and food excellent but the interior decor has no warmth and lacks detail and ambience. It's as if they are waiting for the finishing touches to arrive. They have a promising outdoor space for the warmer weather which should be an attraction.
Whilst out shopping in Timperley Village, we noticed that the Stonemasons had been refurbished and popped in for brunch. The refurbishment did not disappoint and the food was really good, so good that I booked a table the following week for lunch with some friends. We all had different starters but the homemade parsley and truffle soup with crumpet was the stand out dish. This was followed by a Sunday lunch and was delicious. It was a good portion, it was served hot and everything was cooked to perfection. I finished the meal with a praline cheesecake which was to die for! The staff were attentive and friendly which just added to a great dining out experience. This restaurant and the food it serves is so good that I am going back again next week for my birthday! Highly recommended.
Went for the first time since reopening and was impressed by the refurb and look forward to the beer garden in the summer!
The pricing is quite expensive for a local pub/restaurant but we took advantage of the 50% off food in January offer so was good value on that basis! Had a couple of issues with the starters but waitress soon sorted it out and she was most helpful all evening. Drinks quite expensive and no house wine as such - cheapest £20 a bottle.
Will go again - hoping the new menu from February will have revised prices more fitting for the location but overall, good food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Excellent food, superb service and on the doorstep can’t ask for more
Delicious food and fantastic service. Great for kids too. Will definitely be back.
i went in within the first week of opening to look at the meal prices and the decor they have done a fantastic refurbishment the prices of the food is expensive we went in january for my wifes birthday because all the food was half price and more affordable i'm not tight with my money but i like to spend my money wisely the food was fantastic would definitely go again at those prices
Great food, most of them had sandwiches but l had a prawn salad and everything was good. Bread for sandwiches could of been a little thinner but that’s all. Our server was very chatty (think her name was Rachel) and nothing was too much trouble. I have been several times since the opening, especially this month as 50% off food offer!
Hope you will be putting some kind of play area outside for the summer as l am sure you will attract families. All in all, great pub in our village!
Fantastic food very high quality but what made it special was the customer service recieved from the team nothing was too much trouble will definately be going back to try other dishes and the brunch menu.
Fabulous service and food everyone was very knowledgeable about the wine's beer and cocktails. Really enjoyed eating here and think it's a great place for the village
