The Stratford Brasserie

Lots of items missing from menu (though it was the last day before lockdown so I will forgive this).

Service was slow - Initial drinks beforehand took so long to arrive that we were sat at our table before they arrived. Main course took well over half an hour to arrive. Was given additional side dishes I didn’t ask for (though I did eat them anyway).

Waiter was curt and disinterested throughout - when I asked for the whisky selection he showed me four items he wrote down on his pad (when the manager returned later to tell me the drink I wanted was out of stock they provided a drinks menu with a full list).

Despite knowing what my dessert order was they forgot to deliver it and it arrived after my partner had finished his.

They then had the audacity to try and overcharge me on the wine when the bill arrived. No apology.

Notwithstanding the circumstances, I expected better service and though the food was good, I consider my ratings to be generous. I shan’t be returning again.

Really good service staff were friendly and helpful, and lovely atmosphere.
Where we were sat was by the kitchen so very hot.
Would have liked more vegetarian/fish food options. I ordered cod which lacked flavour sadly.

Inside space well spaced out due to Covid restrictions. A bit disappointing that the vegetarian roast option was not available, considering our reservation was 12.30pm and the brasserie was by no means full. The staff did make an effort as one of our group was vegan and the food was good. Cocktail was underwhelming given the £12 price. Nice level of music playing and decor was very nice and staff very attentive. Overall an enjoyable brunch.

We Sat outside as we were mix house hold, they gave us blanket so we were warm but online they said there was heater and fire pit but a lot of table don't have this so wrap up warm.

When we turned up it took aged to get drinks and were also told non of the hot Christmas drinks were available, the service carried on being bad and we had to chase for every drink. Then we were told that we could only order pizza as the kitchen was also to busy. It a sham as i have eaten in the restaurant upstairs before and i was great but the whole evening was a bit of a let down.

Atmosphere and service was fabulous- However two of the vegetarian options I chose were sold out. I then had no choice but to get fish which was overrated at £19 for cod with no flavour whatsoever and some beans to go with. then a side of carrots was £12 which should have been the price of a meal. Please adjust your prices accordingly and get more vegetarian options and everything else would be fine.

As always the staff are amazing. Avoid the fondu though. It’s a bowl of cheese sauce with very little bread. The Stratford you are better than this. Lose it if you can’t do it properly. Overall enjoyed the terrace and for trying

A lovely time spent at the Brasserie restaurant. Our one observation - a dessert option was sherry trifle - there was no sherry present (IMHO). Otherwise a nice experience and we would definitely eat there again. Great service provided by staff.

very average food, starter was poor, in all a disappointment

Sadly they didn’t have a lot of items on the menu and the wine we were recommended was quite average for the price. Had to chase for waiters too. The atmosphere is lovely though and the restaurant is beautifully designed.

The staff were very pleasant and the food was good.
Downsides - There was a jazz band playing which were very good but just slightly too loud when trying to have a conversation.
We had to sit outside because of Covid rules and unfortunately our table did not have a heater so was rather cold.
But will return when we can go inside or when weather gets bettet

We came on a Saturday in December and had a table in the outside terrace which was lovely. There were heaters and blankets for us. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. I ordered the pizza and fries from the brunch menu, both nice! Also opted for the bottomless Prosecco option and sometimes the wait between top-ups was long and we had to ask several times to different people for more drinks. This is ideal for a long, lazy lunch.

Loved the outside room ,Christmas declarations, fire pit and over head heaters. I had a few mulled wines which where really good , French toast and pizza . The ambience was just right with the right amount of tables and chairs and a great service. The only thing I would say is one of the heaters wasn't working however there were more than enough cosy blankets to keep the chill out....will definately go again😍

Such great service for a Tier 2 outdoor dining experience. Staff were very attentive and the cocktails were incredible! Will certainly be returning.

Really attentive service and the best, fresh caesar salad I've ever had. The outside terrace with blankets is wonderful for meeting friends and enjoying cocktails. Good food, good booze, good service....what more can you want!

Only had a Sandwich and Burger on the menu. We wanted to go for a drink at the upstairs bar, we were told it was full and could not be accommodated.

This is my second visit to the outside terrace. A good environment to meet Tier 2 criteria and catch up with a friend. A bit breezy so wrap up. Heaters timed out at times. We went for the glass of wine with three canapes combo for £12. It was just right. Fire pit wasn't on which was a shame. Would have added to the ambiance but lovely staff. A classy venue.

I’ve had brunch here twice & it was a very pleasant experience. It’s worth noting the drinks are per person, not for each couple (Prosecco, cocktail jug etc). The service is friendly & it’s a lovely place.

The outside area is great for food and drinks - warm with heaters, covered, away from the road.

Sat outside on the terrace, which is very nice looking, but we had to ask for the heater to be turned on, and it turned off halfway through the meal. We asked for it to go back on, but it wasn't acted upon.

Food was nice, but service wasn't great. Only got told that the pizzas weren't available after ordering, and it isn't an extensive menu with everything available.

Food was good and service was decent. A little slow at times but always friendly. Drinks were yummy as well.

Had brunch, pancakes and flatbread, high quality and good value (especially the pancakes) quite busy, service was good, seated near the open kitchen. Background music a little load, Covid protocols in place - would go again.

A windy and rainy day of our visit.
Due to Covid restrictions we sat outside.
Out door area had heaters and enough coverage for us to eat without getting drenched.
Overall service was helpful and friendly.
Would recommend.

Would have been nicer if the heaters had been on earlier and the hot drinks were warm to begin with but otherwise it was a great meal. Definitely coming back.

Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Incredible service from the staff! Each of the three course meals were individually special, but we only had the first two courses as the third course would have taken us pass the 10pm curfew. Highly highly recommend!

Shame that the ovens weren't on as that led to half the menu being unavailable
Going out for an evening now is even more of an event so left a little disappointed

Nice ambience. Friendly staff. Lovely roof terrace. Good quality wine. Good Covid precautions.
However....even though I checked the website beforehand to check that the set menu was definitely being served today, on arrival we were informed it was not. In addition we were also told that a third of the menu (pizza) was not available either on arrival. At this stage we were tempted to leave however given the requirement to book for any restaurant due to the current situation, we thought we’d stay and give it a try.
Our feedback would have been far more positive if we had been able to have what we booked for.
Food wise, the skin of my cod was not crispy and indeed very chewy and rubbery. A real no no in a restaurant setting.

It was so windy outside - perhaps something could be constructed to stop the wind tunnel?! Service was slow at times but everyone was lovely and the pizza was nice as was the wine

Visited Saturday evening for a birthday meal for my partner.
Arrived early, was greeted and seated in the lounge. Ordered bottle of Prosecco, that we took to our table.
Lounge area is comfortable.
Service by staff was quick and friendly.
Ordered the Tempura prawns, beef tartar starter. Pan fried cod & Pan roasted chicken breast mains.
Food was 5*, tasty and plentiful.
As I had emailed beforehand it was my partner's birthday, they came with a Happy Birthday chocolate brownie, a lovely gesture!
Will definitely return for a special occasion.

I had a birthday meal there and I really enjoyed it.

The staff take waayyyy to long to come and take your order even tho we was the only people at the eating area. We even had to call them each time for our order and our bill.
The food was not tasty at all. Apart from the oysters and that is because there was no cooking required!
