Succotash PRIME is a progressive perspective of classic Southern favorites. James Beard Award winner Edward Lee brings his Korean roots and Southern repertoire to a soulful Southern Steakhouse menu.

SUCCOTASH is named after the classic dish that has been a longstanding staple of the Southern table. While many know “Succotash” when they see it, the dish has been interpreted, modified, and passed from generation to generation for centuries. Our “Succotash” is special to us and we invite you to experience the South from our point of view.

My friend and I had a fabulous experience here, I I’ll definitely be returning. Everything was delicious from the cornbread to the pecan pie, 10s across the board. The service was also top tier, Jakarri had great recommendations and was very attentive.

We had dinner at Succotash PRIME before a show at the Warner Theatre, and it easily ranks as one of our favorite places to eat. The blend of Southern and South Korean flavors is nothing short of amazing—every dish is packed with bold, rich flavors that make for an unforgettable meal. Service was prompt and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without feeling rushed. The cocktail menu is fantastic, offering creative and well-balanced drinks that complement the food perfectly. We visited during Restaurant Week, and the menu was well-curated, offering a great selection of dishes that truly showcased the restaurant’s style. The vibe is spot on—from the well-thought-out music selection to the overall ambiance, it’s the kind of place where you feel like you could settle in for the night with close friends. It’s got the perfect mix of energy and warmth, making it a must-visit spot in D.C. We’ll definitely be back!

This was our first time here…Didn’t realize it was restaurant week so it was nice to see the different menus. Def wish we could have done wingsday Wednesday but only if you sit at the bar you can get that. Food was delicious…but butternut squash was very sweet kind of tasted like apple sauce. Definitely would recommend this spot at lunch time and we will definitely be coming back!

Been to this restaurant several times. This was not the best experience I had. I had higher expectations. I arrived shortly before our reservation and checked in. My companion arrived about 7-10 min or so after the reservation time. We were asked to wait because table was not ready. They noted the party at the table where we are supposed to be have paid but was chatting, and they cannot ask them to leave. I have seen other restaurants asking customers to move to the bar or being upfront about the time limit due to the next reservations, so it was hard to understand why we, who are also customers, are being asked to wait without a guarantee well past our reservation time. A manager came and we were led to a table in about 5 min, which were appreciated. Yet, while we wait, we saw empty tables upstairs and there were at least two other tables around us that were empty throughout our meal which added to our confusion about being asked to wait. The Restaurant Week menu was underwhelming, and the description could be, should be better. I respect chefs' creative interpretations, but would want to know that when I read descriptions. Or, please have menus explained by the servers to manage expectations. I learned my lessons too. When we saw "Sweetbread", we thought it would be pancreas (or organs). When we asked later (because it tasted and looked like regular meat), we were then told it was veal. "Roasted Chicken" did not have any crispy skins that we expected (I saw one small strip of skin which were soft) . "Kimchi Dumpling" was soggy boiled dough and was hard to find any kimchi pieces in it. The description said "King Trumpet Mushroom", which led us to think they were garnishes, but when we asked (because we did not have any bites of mushroom), they said the mushroom was only used for the sauce. When I saw "Gochugara", I was expecting spicy dish, but it was cream sauce dish with spicy oil sprinkled on top. "Black Cherry Tart" tasted like cocktail cherries.

A friend & I went to this location for Restaurant Week and OMG. We really enjoyed the ambiance the food, the service, just everything about this restaurant. The food was delicious. The butternut squash soup, the shrimp and grits was all really delicious! I could do without the sticky bread for dessert but other than that, this place was worth it. I would definitely return to try their other menu selections. Thanks, Succotash PRIME, for participating in restaurant week. Giving me & my friend an opportunity to come to DC to try a restaurant we'd never been to before but would definitely return. Also, the decor and design of this place, I absolutely loved it!
