There were 10 of us and the service was great. Food was deciduous and arrived quickly and also waiters were very attentive and professional.
We were sat downstairs which wasn’t as nice as when I’ve sat upstairs - very cold and drafty every time to door opened.
Service was very slow - not enough people for the number of tables.
Food is very nice but don’t go there if you are in a hurry.
They didn't have the table reservation even though I had the confirmation email but they fitted us in. Lovely food.
My friend and I went to Suda Thai for a pre-theatre meal. The food was yummy and came quickly.
Place was just shutting down (25th Feb 2018 is last day) before moving to a new location and that has affected both food and service (esp. service as they seemed understaffed). Have been a regular and hopefully the new location the place is back up to the high standards as was in the past
This place is AMAZING ! I love it, the food the ambiance the service ! The price is good too very reasonable for a London city center restaurant ! This place is for a nice relaxed evening nothing snazzy or too stuck up !
Very attentive staff, gluten free menu and quick service. Would recommend!
pleasantly surprised consdering labelled as a cafe - much more like nice restuarant. Food lovely and staff friendly and located very well. Thai food very nice and left us stuffed.
Authentic Thai restaurant with large variety of menu. So delish and authentic Thai.
Staff seemed hectic and confused and food had little flavor for tai. Drinks and starters were good.
Plenty of vegetarian options! Really good food! The thai green curry and the massaman curry is a must try!
Excellent Thai food, very authentic, and good environment
Was recommended by a Thai friend so expected the food to be good. The menu is large and has a lot of choices. Unfortunately my order of Pad Thai with giant prawns was inedible. The prawns were so tough I couldn’t get them out of the shell. When we complain we were offered a 50% discount.
Delicious food, great menu and efficient service- I’d definitely come back here.
Overall the meal was pleasent and the staff were friendly.
We booked a table for 8 oclock on a Saturday night so I knew it would be busy. The staff couldn’t handle it.
We had dishes and drinks taken off the bill because we had to remind the waiter a few times about where they were! They didn’t take the £25 service charge off though.
I would go back but with a friend maybe not in a group.
Recently opened restaurant, thought of trying it out based on positive reviews, and we were pleased that all are justified; great quality food, good selection of diverse meals, and friendly and efficient service (but not rushed). In fact, as it was difficult to chose a meal, we ate too many dishes and will soon be going back for more. Reasonably priced. The drought Thai lager is not too bad either. Now with the Christmas decorations out in the narrow streets, quite a nice view from upper floor too.
My friends and I had a curry tasting menu and it was pretty good and good value. The 3 bowls we chose were Green Chicken curry, duck curry and Beef panang curry. The Duck was the best one and then the chicken.
I like the upstairs seating as it is a bit quieter but they have some large tables too for groups so it could get noisy.
We went there before the theatre and let them know so we got fairly fast service.
The food was lovely and the staff were great too!
Lovely discovery, do recommend and will return. Thank you
We had a yummy meal at Suda Thai restaurant. We both ordered starters and mains, and this was plenty of food.
Great restaurant affordable and good Thai food in central location!
Whenever I go to the theatre around the Strand area - I always go to Suda Cafe for a pre/Theatre Meal. They normally have a great menu at a very reasonable price. Our table was ready on arrival at Suda Cafe. We were given a menu - not the usual pre/theatre meal menu. I asked a member of staff for the pre/theatre menu and was advised this would be brought to us. Five minutes later the gentleman came to our table and showed us the pre/theatre menu which was now at the front of the menu book. Half the meals that were usually on the menu were missing and no price indicated. I had chosen Suda Cafe because I remembered there being a vegetarian option on the menu and the great pre/post theatre meals.
Service was slow and it was not very busy. Meals were served to friends at different times. We had to remind staff that one of our dishes hadn't been served. We had to ask for water to be brought to our table on two occasions.
Not sure if different people are now running Suda Cafe, the ambience and service was certainly not up to the usual high standard.
Food was good - not up to usual high standard. Good portions were served.
It hasn't put me off going there, however, it would be good to have that easy pre/post theatre menu and prices shown. Service could be improved.
Sea food Tomyum soupwith noodles was very good. The rice with egg and prawns also very good. However, we could not do justice to any of the other dishes as we were only two persons eating. Service was stark as short staffed, but their botch-up was graciously covered by not charging us for that item. Overall good place, Will return.
Authentic Thai food in central Covent Garden. Dining area is well laid out with enough space between the tables, not always the case in this area. Menu a little confusing with many different combinations. Would recommend for pre-theatre or for casual meal with friends.
Ambience was good, great location! .... Service and food need a major improvement, from no angel this was authentic!
Good service and value.Could be a bit more authentic...but was still an enjoyable lunch!
Great location, well worth the time to get there. Food was very tasty and the wine selections are excellent. I would good again.
Absolutely brilliant and full of flavours greta value for money too!
Bad service, terrible seating location (in the middle of restaurant next to bar fridges) and inflexible for request to relocate to another table. Did not make a good first impression.
Slow wait staff - took more than 25 minutes to bring a gluten free menu and, when it finally arrived, the gluten free options were very limited.
Perhaps if the staff spent less time focusing on the communication devices they all wear (ear piece and microphone) and more on their customers, the experience would be better.
Staff only became more attentive once we said we were not ordering food and wanted to leave - but by that stage, the damage was done...It still didn't stop them from trying to add a service charge to our 3 cocktail bill though!
Clearly a tourist trap where service and dining experience is not a priority. Avoid.
Food is good, pleasant ambience but took 2 hours to receive main courses.
Lovely location in nice square . Close to the theatre we were visiting after the meal.
Food delicious and great value for money. Happily ate off the set pre-theatre menu which had plenty of choice for the main course. Staff were very friendly and attentive right up until the time we wanted to pay, which seemed to take rather a long time to achieve!
This is my second visit to Suda, a party of 10 dinned here after watching a play and they were all impressed with the food. Service was immpicable and the taste of the god was authentic. Definitely will go again and highly recommend this Restaurant.
Great place to eat before theatre. Meals always nice and not too expensive.
The food was excellent. Had the Curry Trio (Red Duck and Green Chicken were the best). Also had the house fried chicken.....Excellent
Great Thai options for vegetarians - enjoyed the Thai green curry in particular. Good value for money - great location to catch up with friends
Service was a bit slow, otherwise really enjoyable experience. Fully recommended.
We started with cocktails which were lovely - strawberry mojito, suda passion & secret garden.
I really like that they do tapas-style starters so we picked several little ones and shared.
The main courses were absolutely delicious and the portions very big.
Even the toilets were well-kept & clean.
The only thing that let this hidden gem down was the service. We waited ages between courses and had to ask for the bill before we had finished eating because we were worried we might miss our show.
Service and ambience were good. Very disappointed with the food. Sticky rice served in a plastic bag which tasted like it was well over microwaved says it all.
Very popular place. The Thai food was excellent and cannot complain about this...the price was London prices but did include a service charge although drinks a little expensive. Service was very good and prompt. Bit noisy due to crowds of other people and the noise did seem to carry as it was a large open dining area
The vegetarian red and green curries were very tasty and not so spicy. I had asked for chillies but they had run out of the hot ones but got some that had a bit of heat.
The prawn stir fry was nice but a bit on the salty side.
Service was very good though the server had forgotten the green tea we ordered but remembered it 20 minutes later and brought it over.
There were a couple of big groups near us and they seemed to enjoy it and "happy birthday" songs were heard so good for groups.
It got quite noisy so not good for a romantic dinner but maybe good for a first date as no one would hear your conversation.
It has a nice atmosphere upstairs and a nice view of the courtyard. The downstairs seemed a bit quieter.
Expect to pay about £20/person for the food including the 12.5% service but excluding drinks.
